Hey all! Been an up and down, roller coaster ride lately!

Hello Moto!

So yeah the past couple weeks were awesome!
Giant Star Records was proud to sponsor Snak The Ripper
featuring my good friends Conscience aka Brandon, Brody and Lyndsay Johnston...

Then I sponsored the Sweatshop Union show...
featuring Alberta rap hero Deezus

Then I sponsored King of the Dot World Domination 2 (Alberta) where the current KOTD Champ, Sketch Menace, set up some of the craziest and FUNNIEST emcee battles in this division yet!
SMP was flown in from Cornwall, Ontario Canada for the event.

As for the studio I've been working closely with AON on his mixtape. Still have a few mixes left to do but it should all be wrapped up 100% by the end of August. Check out his vlog here

I've recorded his entire mixtape and am about halfway through mixing it all down. He has lots of tracks on Youtube that Giant Star Records has been a part of. Very talented dude. It's... the ego.

There are 3 KOTD events coming up. One will be in Lethbridge... one in Red Deer and one in Calgary. I hope to be sponsoring and attending all three!

Sup familia!

Things are moving along here at Giant Star Records! Just about finished with Christian rapper, AON's, first mixtape! All the recording is complete and now we're just mixing the final songs and preparing for mastering. Shout to AON for performing for the first time at Lord Nelson's in Calgary!
I've also had a chance to do some voice over work for a Shaw TV show called "Talent TV" with production from LTM Media. Please check the link above to see what they're all about! The show will be airing soon and I'll post the dates and times as soon as I know!
Giant Star Records also sponsored the Snak The Ripper show last Friday at the Distillery down town. Also performing was Young Sin, my buddies Conscience, The Block Parents, Hidden Elementz and Cash Flo. It was a great night and I'm super extra proud of Brandon, Brody and Lyndsay for putting together such an excellent performance!
In other news my Giant Star Productions website is coming along nicely! It's now online with a bit of functionality to it. Still a ways to go but I'm happy with the results so far! Plus the new logo is AMAZING! :)

Hey all! So first things first. I was both happy and proud to sponsor and donate 4 hours of recording time to the Music For a Cure event this past friday at The Belfry Gastro House. The Belfry Gastro House is such a nice venue and we raised over $1,250 for The Cancer Foundation. Although the turn out was just okay it was still a lot of fun and all for a great cause.

In other news... I've added 4 of the best Hip Hop producers to the Giant Star roster!
- Makemdef, originally from Vancouver, creates some of the most soulful beats around!
- White Lotus is an official affiliate of the Wu Tang Clan and has been supplying those grimey bangers to fiends all over the globe.

Lots of things going on but this blog will be brief and to the point.

This Saturday Giant Star Records is sponsoring KOTD's Ground Zero event at the Distillery at 2pm. Some great emcee battles going on!
On June 17th Giant Star Records is extremely happy to also be sponsoring the event "Music For a Cure" - with 100% of the proceeds going to The Cancer Foundation! There will be silent auctions, a raffle, lots of cool prizes and of course... great music!
Unfortunately cancer is alive and well in a lot of peoples lives and anything we can do to help alleviate that is always a plus!

So I've been quite busy the past two - three weeks. Lots of show sponsorships - which lead to lots of new clients! New clients from Sasha and Kirsten Collins (incredible RnB/Pop artists) to Matt Daley, Miracle and AON. (All very dope emcees)!
I handed out an award to New L for his "breakthrough performance" at a previous KOTD event and awarded Matt Daley with 4 hours free recording time for winning DJ Ambideckstress's "Battle Tactics" Emcee Battle event! Well deserved!

Also one of my clients, Gon Gotti, released his official video featuring rap superstar Masspike Miles called "No Talking". Recorded and mixed by yours truly! It's a VERY gangsta Hip Hop record but if you're into that - have a listen at...

I've also been working with a new artist named Jay Fletch - who is sure to turn some heads when he drops some of his newer material! Also look out for Hidden Elements and their new track "Thunder" and the "Branch". Lots of work with them coming up!

I'll be sponsoring The Alcohaulics show in Calgary in July as well as Sweatshop Union and RA The Rugged Man. Also the Fatlip show too!
Giant Star Records will also be sponsoring the next "Ground Zero" KOTD event in Calgary and possibly the "Ground Zero" event in Red Deer as well. These events have been very successful and the underground Hip Hop scene in Calgary is growing VERY fast these days!

Bishop Brigante, Planet Asia and Ultimate MC

Crazy weekend!
Had a late night session on Friday with Bishop Brigante, New L, Fingaz and local Calgary rap group Lethal Combo! It was a late minute session but it went really well!
Bishop Brigante is one Canada's biggest Hip Hop stars and was a pleasure meeting and working with him. He was in town to host the Ultimate MC the next night.

On Saturday night I attended the Ultimate MC Alberta Division (Click the title of this blog for the jump!) to show support to my homie L Rev from Lethbridge as well as a few other local emcees. Great event and lots of fun! Bishop Brigante did a great job hosting. Hip Hop pioneer and legend Planet Asia was one of the 3 judges for the competition and he also performed a small set afterwards with his partner Tri State. L Rev WON the entire event and did it pretty handily! He'll be flying out to Toronto in September to represent the Alberta Division in the finals. $5000 cash prize is on the line as well as a record deal with CP Records.
Had a chance to kick it with Planet Asia and Tri State after their show and they were arguably the coolest "celebrities" I've had the pleasure of meeting. We exchanged cards and numbers and will absolutely be doing business in the future!

Well now that the weekend's over... back to work!
Tomorrow I'll be tweaking some mixes for Gon Gotti's album "Omerta".
Gon will be in the studio on Tuesday.
Later this week I also have Don Castro, Hidden Elementz and a new client, Maxwell, coming in to record and mix.
Thursday night I'll be attending Classified's show at the Whiskey. Real excited for that and, per usual, I'll be networking and promoting Giant Star Records HARD!
Then Saturday night I'm attending my friend Ashleys bday party and will be playing some new music for everyone there.
Plus I'll be recording new Krumbz stuff!

Hey guys/gals! Just finished up a giant 35 track dubstep/glitch song with Hidden Elementz called The Branch. I also mixed Thunder as well. Check out their music by clicking on the title of this blog above!
This week I mixed a new song by Castro, The Branch for Hidden Elementz and recorded beatboxer Ominous. Tomorrow I have Castro back in the studio for some recording and then Gon Gotti will be in on Saturday to review what we have left to do for his album.
Saturday night I'll be attending The Ultimate MC @ Sait. I'll be networking but will obviously be rooting on some of my clients! Big cash prize for the event!
Then Sunday I have New L coming in to record his next track. Love that kid! I posted pics of his battle at the last KOTD @ www.GiantStarRecords.com and also uploaded some new music from him too.
April and May are gonna be hectic! Mixing an album for Cody Tkach as well as recording and mixing an album for a Christian rapper named Josh.

What can I say? I've been REALLY busy lately! Had my family from Jersey up for a week and I'm just getting back to normal.

Let's see...
I recorded and mixed a new track called "Thunder" with the Hidden Elementz.
I also have them back in the studio tomorrow recording some new material.
I also recorded two new tracks with Cane and J. Pesos. I should be mixing those tracks down within the next two weeks.
Yesterday, Tuesday, I recorded 3 new tracks for Don Castro. He's a great example of talent from Calgary.
I have the Hidden Elementz tomorrow then Castro again on Thursday. (Then mixing two tracks on Friday).
Also I rewarded the KOTD studio package to New L... an up and coming emcee out of Calgary. Great kid and lots of potential! You can check his new song @ www.GiantStarRecords.com

Great week! First I'd like everyone to visit one of my newer clients website. Link is above. (Click the title of the blog and you'll link to it!). He is a motivational speaker named Kerry Girling and has really exciting plans for the near future! He and I recorded for the first time and I'm really diggin' his vibes. Great dude! We'll definitely be working together again in the future.

Second - Giant Star Records is now an official sponsor of KOTD and the first event went incredibly well! Lots of great artists and emcee's and was just a blast to be a part of. April 23rd is the next event and that one will be even more impressive! Lots of new clients and contacts were made at the last one.

Congratulations to New'L who has an impressive performance! He won the Giant Star single/song package! A $325 value for free! He's such a great kid and can't wait to get working with him!

This week, business wise, will be slow as I've only booked clients for two days. Tuesday I'll be recording a beatboxer named Ominous and Friday I'll be mixing down one of Gon Gotti's final tracks for his album.

The reason for the slow week is that my family will be in town! My Pops, my brother and my niece, Tori. Very excited to see them and spend some time with them!

So I finished up some mixing on some of my personal tracks over the weekend!
Have clients booked Monday and Wednesday and some mixing to do on Thursday and Friday.
Tuesday I'll be doing some personal recording for this contest that I'm in so I'm excited about that!
Then on Friday I'll be attending the GZA show (From Wu-tang) and networking there.
