This Egyptian Eye of Horus relief decorative collectible is quite an exquisite piece for a classical home or office interior design. It is ideal for your ancient art and museum replica interior decor. The eye of Horus also called Oudjat or Wedjat, is the left lunar eye which originates from the struggle btween Horus and Seth. In this fight, Horus loses his left eye which is taken by Seth, but then Horus acquires spiritual sight, the eye of light. The eye was later healed by Thoth and returned to Horus and then called the Oudjat (the Whole One). It was a symbol of the power of the God of light, and therefore a popular amulet for protection and good luck.

They are the beautiful sister Goddesses who attended Aphrodite, the Goddess of love, and were personifications of grace and beauty. They spread the joy of nature and lived on Olympus. Their names, number and parentage vary, but they are generally said to be three sisters named Euphrosyne, who represented jollity, Thalia identified with abundance, and Aglaea, a representation of splendor. They are daughters of Zeus and Eurynome or Hera. They influenced artists throughout the ages. They were depicted in sculpture and vase paintings by the ancient Greeks, in Roman wall paintings at Pompeii, in Botticelli’s allegorical painting known as Springtime, and in a marble statue carved by Canova.

In the Pieta, the twenty three year old Michelangelo presents us with an image of the Madonna with Christ’s body never attempted before. Her face is youthful, yet beyond time; her head leans only slightly over the lifeless body of her son lying in her lap. St. Peters Basilica (San Pietro), Vatican, 1499 A.D. This famous marble work of art depicts the body of Jesus in the arms of his mother Mary after the Crucifixion. It takes to the extreme the Renaissance ideal of classical harmony, beauty and restraint. This beautiful museum replica of Pieta by Michelangelo is a very beautiful sculpture to have.

At the Villa Borghese it stood in a ground-floor room named for it. Sold to Napoleon by Camillo Borghese in 1807, it was taken to Paris when the Borghese collection was acquired for the Louvre Museum, where it now resides. Misnamed a gladiator due to an erroneous restoration, it was among the most admired and copied works of antiquity in the eighteenth century, providing sculptors a canon of proportions.

The Brandenburg Gate aka, Brandenburger Tor, this is Berlin’s first landmark that comes to mind when thinking of Germany. The Brandenburg Gate is the national symbol of the country, and German history. The Brandenburger gate was designed by Carl Gotthard. It was constructed between 1778 and 1791. Originally it was a symbol of peace. The design of the Brandenburg Gate was inspired by the Acropolis in Athens. The monument is crowned with the sculpture of the Quadriga, a four-horsed chariot driven by Victoria, the winged goddess of victory. The Brandenburg Gate survived World War II with serious damages; in the Cold War, squeezed between East and West Germany, it became the site for ideologic disputes. After the peaceful reunification of Germany, the Brandenburg Gate was refurbished in 2000; today, it is one of the most visited landmarks in Germany and in Europe
