After many hours of enthusiastic listening to the whole soundtrack and revisiting “The White Stripes”, by The White Stripes, I decided to give miss Alison Krauss a go and bought Alison Krauss and Union Station’s album “Paper Airplane”.

O Alto Comissariado das Nações Unidas para os Direitos Humanos num relatório oficial de 2005 reconheceu oficialmente as violações generalizadas dos direitos humanos que ocorrem regularmente na Coreia do Norte.

Em específico referiu-se a estes e outros tópicos:

- Tortura e outros tratamentos cruéis, desumanos ou degradantes, castigos e execuções públicas;

- Detenções arbitrárias e extras judiciais, ausência do devido processo legal, imposição da pena de morte por razões políticas ou arbitrárias;

- Existência de um grande número de campos de prisioneiros e a ampla utilização do trabalho forçado;

- Proibição ao acesso de todos à informação;

- Restrições graves e disseminadas à liberdade de pensamento, de consciência, de religião, de opinião e de expressão, reuniões sociais e associação pacíficas;

- Contínuas violações dos direitos humanos e liberdades fundamentais das mulheres, em especial o tráfico de mulheres para a prostituição ou casamentos forçados, abortos forçados por motivos étnicos, religiosos ou políticos, incluindo injeções que induzem o trabalho de parto, assim como o infanticídio de crianças de mães repatriadas, condenadas em centros de detenção ou campos de trabalho forçados.

A história:

- Dia 20 de Junho fiz uma encomenda no valor de €56.96 nessa loja online;

- Dois dias depois da encomenda feita recebi um e-mail a dizer que tinha sido enviada;

- Dia 10 de Julho enviei um e-mail a perguntar se tinha havido algum problema com a encomenda porque já tinham passado 20 dias e ainda não tinha chegado;

- Sem receber NENHUMA RESPOSTA, no dia 19 de Julho enviei um e-mail a pedir o meu dinheiro de volta;

- Nesse mesmo dia recebi uma resposta a dizer que os correios portugueses me tinham entregue a encomenda registada com assinatura (!!);

- Respondi que nem eu nem a porteira vimos ou assinamos a encomenda e que a culpa devia ser dos correios franceses. Pedi que contactassem o serviço de correios que utilizaram para encontrar a encomenda porque precisava mesmo das lentes e preferia não ter que as comprar noutro sítio. Disse também que, no caso de não encontrarem a encomenda, queria o meu dinheiro de volta, como é natural;

- Dia 2 de Agosto, sem ter tido NENHUMA RESPOSTA, enviei outro e-mail a exigir o meu dinheiro de volta;

- Responderam-me no mesmo dia a dizer que estavam à espera do contacto do serviço de correios franceses e que isso podia demorar algum tempo. Ofereceram-se para me enviar lentes de ensaio, para não ter que comprar lentes noutro sítio enquanto esperava;

- Respondi imediatamente a dizer que agradecia porque estava a usar o último par de lentes e que, porque ia estar de férias em Portugal em Agosto, se me podiam enviar essas lentes para a morada portuguesa;

- Dia 29 de Agosto, sem NENHUMA RESPOSTA, enviei um novo e-mail a exigir o meu dinheiro de volta;

- Dia 21 de Setembro, sem NENHUMA RESPOSTA, perguntei outra vez pelo meu dinheiro;

- Dia 19 de Outubro, sem NENHUMA RESPOSTA, perguntei pela última vez (até ver) pelo meu dinheiro ou a encomenda.

Resumindo, quando tudo corre bem, esta empresa é óptima. Quando começa a correr mal, corre mesmo muito mal. Não há responsabilização, não há um apoio ao cliente decente – é como falar sozinha – não há profissionalismo, não se acciona o seguro dos correios para me reembolsar o dinheiro, não há vergonha…

A minha recomendação é, se não querem arriscar o preço da encomenda, NÃO COMPREM DESTA LOJA!

Acabei por repetir a encomenda na opticshop-online.com, chegaram em 3 dias e foi mais barato.

Google Doc – Ficheiro que contem a comunicação com a empresa. Se lerem, notem que só nas vezes que me passei e exigi o dinheiro de volta é que me responderam. Clássico.
Notem também que foi confirmado o envio da encomenda em francês, que eu escrevi ao senhor Neves em português, visto ele chamar-se Neves e trabalhar em Setúbal, e que ele sempre me respondeu em inglês. WTF?! Pois…

Lot’s of people ask me, in my daily life, how do I make my earrings. It’s always a topic that people are interested in so I’ve decided to show you how. It’s a very simple process but it’s very satisfying to wear something you made yourself.

Tools

First you need to have the right tools.
I use 3 different pliers. A round-nose pliers (a), a flat-nose pliers (b) and a side-cutting pliers (c). You can buy this in any crafts or hardware stores. There are also lots of online shops that sell it. Or you might already have it in your husband’s toolbox!

Materials

In jewelry, the metal parts are called findings.
For these earrings we’ll use two headpins (F1) 2-inches long and two hook earwires (F2).

And you will need beads, of course! We’ll use 3 different kind of beads. Two of each. 2 dark red tubes of glass, 2 little light blue beads and 2 small heart beads. You can use whatever beads you want. Visit a crafts shop that sell beads, or search in your favorite online shop, and use your imagination. This is the fun part!

Making the earrings

To start your earrings, you take one headpin and tread the beads in the order that you want them.

Try different beads, don’t be afraid to experiment. Remember that you are going to wear these earrings.

Are you satisfied with the way they look? Good.

Next you need to cut the headpin to the desired length using the side-cutting pliers. Remember to leave at least half an inch to make the loop that connects to the earwire.

Take the round-nose pliers and turn the end of the headpin to one side, to form a loop.

Then, still using the round-nose pliers, turn the formed loop in the other direction, to center the loop and make it perfect.

Hook in the earwire in the newly formed loop.

And use the flat-nose pliers to gently close the loop.

Tada! You have one earring. Now make another one exactly the same way using the same beads in the same sequence.

And you end up with a lovely set of earrings!

I love to make these simple dangle earrings. I wear them and give them as gifts to my girlfriends. Remember that practice makes perfect. Don’t be discouraged if at first your end result is a little irregular. It will soon be very easy! Just keep making those earrings!

I love this kitchen. It isn’t the perfect kitchen that I one day crave to have but in the present days of closet size parisian kitchens, it’s a dream. In particular the counter space and the breakfast booth with the windows. I would have to say no to the color combination, though. Yellow and red, ugh…

I’m mad for early Atomic Era ads!

I was dreading this one. I disliked Charlie Chaplin’s “Tramp” character since I was a kid. There is something about it that rubbed me the wrong way.

After this movie I grew a liking to it. I can see why this tramp is well loved. It’s still not my cup of tea but it was a pleasant enough 1h27m.

Very impelling film. Black and white flicks sometimes put me off but I was engaged from the beginning. Vivien Leigh and Marlon Brando do a dynamite job.
