Announcement:

The giladshalit.fr site which had an unbiased coverage on all the news related to Gilad Shalit whether coming from the Palestinian angle or the Israeli one was hacked on the 18 of September 2011. The site was hacked and deleted without an option to be restored. The following is a letter to the hacker who did it.

Dear Stupid Hacker,

Why? I know hatred makes you stupid but how dumb can you be? The giladshalit.fr site was aimed to push the Israeli government to release Gilad Shalit and as we know the release deal being discussed includes the release of many Palestinian prisoners as well. Look at it from the other way around, the site was beneficial both to the Palestinians and the Israelis (and to the poor prisoners on both sides) in an equal way and actually was more in favor of the Palestinian interest since for one Gilad Shalit we are supposed to release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.

If you were only reading the site for just five minutes and thinking about it then you would have probably decided differently. But not. Your blind hatred just made you hack into it and delete it. Shame on you.

Thinking on what you did, the only thing I can imagine of running in your mind is the interest to keep the conflict alive and to raise the fires even more. You probably don't care much for the Palestinian prisoners as your hacked content implied. Following this line of thought then you must had some other interests which are either some money promised to you or maybe some global Israeli removal agenda.  So let me tell you my friend, both rationales are wrong and not in the best interest of the people you call "your own". I hope it is not coming to you as a surprise but Israel is not going anywhere and money you are supposed to get will serve only you and your family. I hope you are proud of yourself.

As a side note, I am also not very impressed technically from your hacking style. The site was under very low maintenance with minimal security measures, since I never thought there would be someone with some sense in his mind that would be against it. So I suggest you not to go around and brag about it among your techie friends, it was really nothing.

Finally, good luck with your next hacking and just make sure you open your mind and read carefully what the next site you plan to hack is about.

Warm Regards,

Editor

P.S. The twitter account of giladshalitfr is still alive and kicking (unless stupid hacker will try to hack twitter too, which will make him much more impressive:) technically. So keep your support for Gilad Shalit freedom and tweet for Gilad via http://twitter.com/#!/giladshalitfr
