Starting THIS WEDNESDAY, July 14, you can begin registering for Fall 2010 Dance!

Registration will be this Wednesday, as well as next Monday (July 19) and Wednesday (July 21) from 4pm - 8pm at the Gilbert Dance Studio. There will be a $25 Registration Fee, one per family.

Ballet Intensive with Rosie Carnes

There will be a 3 day ballet intensive with instructor Rosie Carnes at the Gilbert Dance Studio. The dates for this class will be Monday (July 19), Wednesday (21) and Friday (23). The classes will take place from 9am until noon.

Included in this 3 day class will be strength training, ballet, choreography, and improvistation.

Attire: Wear black leotard, pink tights, and ballet shoes, with hair securely tied in a bun.

Remember to bring a water bottle and towel.

You must register by Friday, July 16.

Keep Your Body Moving this summer!

We are offering week-long camps this summer for several different genres of dance. Summer camp is a great way to decide which genre is right for your child.

Costs

$75 per week for camper
One time $20 summer registration fee (includes t-shirt)
*Early drop-off/late pick-up is $25/week (bring a bag lunch)

*Please Note: An additional fee applies if late pick-up is after 6 p.m.

Summer Dance/Performing Arts Camp

1 week classes, offered all summer. There is an Enrollment Form that must be filled out in order to participate in these camps. For dates, times, other details, and the Enrollment Form, please follow this link.

Studio Closed

The studio will be closed on the following dates: Good Friday (April 2nd) and Spring Break (5th - 9th). Classes will resume on Monday, April 12th.

Hip-Hop Classes

We have 6 week kids and teen/adult level Hip-Hop classes beginning April 14th. If interested, please see the front desk by April 2nd to sign up.

Costumes

ALL outstanding balances are due. Costumes will not be distributed if you have a past due tuition or costume balance.

Pictures

Pictures have been scheduled for May 3rd, 4th and 5th at the studio. Times TBA.

Recital Fee Due By April 15th

A $40/family recital fee is due April 15th. This includes unlimited guests and trophy.

Rehearsal

Rehearsal for the 2010 recital will be Friday, May 21st at the B&L Fine Arts Center. Times TBA.

Recital

The 2010 recital will be Saturday, May 22nd at B&L Fine Arts Center. Times TBA.

*For your convenience, the studio will remain open until 6pm for after school care, May24th-28th and June 1st-3rd. Cost is $10/day; $5 snack card required.

This Saturday morning, August 29th, at the dance studio, we are having a garage sale to raise money to fix the floors in the studio! If you would like to donate items, please do so on Wednesday or Thursday, from 2 - 7 p.m. at the studio. We also can use volunteers on Friday evening to help set up, and volunteers for the sale on Saturday.

DVDs, Photos, and Dance Camp Deal

Recital DVD
If you still have NOT picked up your DVD, you have one more opportunity before next week's Fall Registration. We will be at the studio this Wednesday, July 15th from 2 p.m - 8 p.m. Please come by and get your DVD!

Also, we have resolved the issue with the 3:30 p.m recital DVD and they will be available during this time for you. If you got the wrong DVD, please bring it back and we will trade it out for the right one! Thanks!

Recital Photos
If you have not gotten your photos, please come by the studio Wednesday, July 15th from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. to get them!

DANCE CAMP
This camp is offered next week, July 20th - July 24th, in the morning from 9 a.m to 12 p.m, also known as the week of FALL DANCE REGISTRATION!!

***SPECIAL DISCOUNT****
If a dance student is signed by Wednesday, July 15th between 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., you will recieve 30% off the $125 fee AND a reduced $10 registration fee.

If a dance student is signed up by Friday, July 17th, you will recieve 20% off and a $20 registration fee.

This is an incredible deal because this camp is so much fun! Your child will get to make up their own dances, create dance art/crafts, have mini-dance performances at the end of the week AND experience most forms of dance including ballet, hip-hop, and jazz.

Age: 6 - 12 (we will accept some mature fives if they will be turning six by November 15th)

Early Drop Off and Late Pick up Available for $10/week.

Dance Recital DVDs

The "Get Up and Dance" Recital DVDs will be available for pickup TOMORROW, July 9th, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. David Yates will be at the studio, and is your point of contact. If you are able to pick-up your DVD, then you can come by during those times.

For those who requested that their DVDs be mailed to them, please allow us 7 to 10 business days to get the DVDs labeled, organized, and sent through snail mail. If you do not wish to wait, you may come to the studio tomorrow.

Recital Photos

Recital DVDs

DVDs are NOT ready at this time—COMING SOON!

Peach Festival Parade

Come have fun with us at the parade! We will have a select group of riders on our professional float and a walking unit in the parade. Strollers and Wagons are welcome.

Wear your recital T-shirt (or a Lime Green t-shirt).
Meet at the studio at 8:30am OR come directly to marker number 47 which will be on Broad Street.
Parade starts at 9:30 am.
Bring a water bottle and candy to hand out (no candy can be thrown).
Parade will end at GHS. Please make arrangements for picking up your child.

Dance Camp “Shake, Rattle, and Roll”

We only have 8 spots left! It is NOT too late to sign-up. If your child is looking for something to do during the week of July 20th – July 24th, then come dance with US! We are going to have a blast during this week, so don’t miss out! For more details visit here.

Fall Classes

This year we will have ONE WEEK of Fall Registration that will be conducted during the week of July 20th – July 24th from 2pm – 7pm. Your child will meet their instructors, be able to swap out used shoes, AND purchase dancewear (tights, leotards, shoes, etc). Let us know as soon as possible if you have special scheduling requests for next year before the Fall Dance Schedule is finalized.

Photos and Videos Needed

We would love to add more photos and videos to our website. But in order to do that, we need your help! So if you have photos or videos from recitals, dance camps, classes, or anything else, please email them to siteadministrator@gilbertstudioofdance.com.

What to include in the email:

The photographer or videographers name so that we can give them the recognition they deserve.
What event it is from (i.e., recital, competition, class, dance camp, etc). If there was a name for the event, include that as well (i.e., "Get Up and Dance" dance recital).
The date, or at least year, photos or videos were taken.

Please Note:

Photographs on our site can be downloaded by anyone. Therefore, if you do not wish to make your photos available for free, do not email them to us.
Videos are posted to YouTube, and therefore, are not available for download. Please make sure videos are no bigger than 10 minutes and 1 GB.
