NLC announces September 28 For Strike and Mass Protest Against Electricity tariff and fuel hike

The Nigeria Labour Congress NLC through its decision making body has announced 28th of September,2020 to embark on a nationwide indefinite Strike and mass protest if Federal Government fails to remove electricity tariff and petrol pump price hikes.

The Labour Force made the announcement on their twitter handle NLCHeadQuaters early this morning and described their decision as a civic obligation to demand for their rights.

This is coming after the TUC gave a 7-day strike notice,and also extended it to September 28 inline with the Labour Congress' deadline for a Nationwide demonstration against electricity and petroleum pump price hike.

The meeting which was held at Labour House in Abuja, the Labour Congress ordered it's 36 NLC state’s councils and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, to mobilize and gather workers and other Nigerians,saying the increase should not having been made at this crucial time in the country.

Speaking after the meeting, President of NLC, Ayuba Wabba, urged the Federal Government to listen to the anguish of workers and suffering Nigerians in the interest of peace and social order, reverse the increases, stating that failure to meet the demands would make the scheduled strike and mass protest unavoidable.

He Said;

“The National Executive Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress comprising members of the National Administrative Council, President and General Secretary of members of the affiliate unions and our state council chairpersons and secretaries of the 36 states and FCT met today (yesterday) and resolved as follows;

“NEC resolved to reject in its entirety the issue of hike in electricity tariffs by almost 100 per cent as well as the fuel price increase in the name of full deregulation. This decision is premised on the fact that these twin decisions alongside other decisions of government including the increase of VAT by 7.5 per cent, numerous charges being charged by commercial banks on depositors without any explanations will further impoverish Nigerian workers and citizens, including their families.

“Therefore, this increase, coming in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, is not only ill-timed, but it is also counterproductive. NEC also observed that the privatization of the electricity sub-sector seven years down the line has not yielded any positive result.

“Whereas the entire privatization process, the entire sector was sold at about N400 billion, we are also surprised that government within the last four years injected N1.5 trillion over and above the amount that accrued from this important asset.

” Therefore, NEC came to the conclusion that the entire privatization process has failed and the electricity hike is actually a process of continuous exploitation of Nigerians.

” On the issue of the refineries and also the increase in the pump price of PMS, this particular issue had been on the table for more than three decades and the argument had not changed.

“Whether it is the name of full deregulation or subsidy removal, what is obvious is that it is fuel price hike and this has further eroded the gains of the N30,000 minimum wage because it has spiral effects which include the high costs of food and services and the reduction in the purchasing power of ordinary Nigerians.

“In light of all of these, NEC thought that the issue of deregulation would be a continuous exploitation if it is import-driven.

“While demanding that our three refineries should be made to work optimally and then, it would benefit Nigerians, NEC also concluded that government has business in doing business because the primary purpose of governance is about the security and welfare of the people and if in other countries, governments are maintaining refineries, and they are working optimally for the benefit of the people, Nigeria cannot be an exception.

“In the light of these, NEC decided to endorse the two-week ultimatum given to the federal government to reverse those obnoxious decisions and also pronounce that the action proposed by the Central Working Committee is hereby endorsed by the NEC that 28th of September should be the date that those decisions should be challenged by the Nigerian workers, our civil society allies and other labour centre’s.”

Niger State Police Command Arrests Four Suspects For Fake Credentials

The Niger State Police command has made it known that it has arrested 4 suspects who presented fake credentials in the ongoing screening exercise ongoing in the state.

The Command Spokesperson ASP Wasiu Abiodun who confirmed the arrest today September 22 said the suspects who were identified by their names as;

Sule Idris 50
Suleiman Abubakar 37(both of Tunga-goro Minna)
Suleiman Garba, 41(Gidan-kuka Minna)
Bright Echebini, 40( of Tunga Minna)

The Spokesperson said the suspects where arrested by the officers of the Chachanga Police division.

According to the press release by ASP Wasiu Abiodun;

"The initial three suspects were arrested for presenting fake certificates of Niger State College of Education Minna at the screening centre, during the ongoing State Government screening exercise," he said.

"In the course of investigation, the suspects confessed to have conspired and contracted the said Bright Echebini as the printer of the forged documents. He was later arrested while some other forged documents were also recovered from him. Case under investigation." he added.

Gareth Bale signs New Contract With Premier League Side Tottenham Hotspurs

Former Real Madrid Star Gareth Bale has completed his loan move from Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid to the English Premier League Tottenham Hotspurs.

The 31 year-old star who seems to be excited with his new signing back to his former team on loan. The transfer was completed today at the spurs arena in North London.

However his agent Jonathan Barnett has however commented and threw shades at Real Madrid,stating that they ought to be kissing the floor Bale was stepping on at Tottenham.

The agent who said Bale was not loved by the team manager Zinedine Zidane and other Real Madrid Loyalists,he also said they always cast him out of the teams matches and he's now happy to be off the team.

Barnett Said;

“I’ve been his agent since he was a very young boy, and I am so proud of him.

“Not just for his achievements and everything else, but because he has become a great man. He’s never said anything wrong, he’s never done anything… his life has been exemplary really.

“When he came here one of the newspapers started writing articles about his family and his wife’s family in the papers – that is scandalous.

“This country should be very proud of him, Great Britain should be very proud of him. Stop knocking him and write what he’s done and what he’s achieved.

“It’s very annoying, and it’s the same with Real Madrid and what he’s achieved for them.

His agent also made it known that he may be signing a permanent deal with Tottenham once his loan duration ends.

He made this known in an interview with Talksports, Barnett also said in the interview that;

“It was a build up of clash of personalities, a build up of not being supported, it was many different things.

“For somebody who has done as well as he has for Real Madrid, he didn’t get the respect he deserved and that was a big problem.

Suspected Herdsmen kill Plateau traditional ruler

Suspected herdsmen has reportedly killed an acting monarch in Plateau state news gathered.

The late monarch who's house at Foron Rei,Barkin Ladi LGA was invaded late on Monday night by armed herdsmen hacked him to death in his house. Although reasons for his murder still remains unknown.

Some Facebook User has however took to the platform to vent their anger on the issue and show how they feel on the issue.

A Facebook User known as Peter Matong has however commented on the unfortunate incident,describing it as "babaric,callous and unfortunate".

He said;

Cheating is not a mistake or an accident. One does not just fall into a vag!na. First, you have to feel that person to get the d!ck up or the vagina wet.

Secondly you get undressed. While getting undressed, you know very well what is going to happen next. You have enough time to stop what you are doing because you have someone in your life, but no, you continue taking off your cloths.

You then lie down and open your legs, during that time you have enough time to stop and reflect on what you are doing. They have all the time to make a decision.

So, when he/she tells you that it was a mistake, they are actually saying: You stupid idiot. I did it and I enjoyed it. I am only sorry that you found out about it. Next time I will be more discreet.

Forgiving a cheater is like saying, what you did to me was bad but not bad enough. Do something worse, then I will leave you.

A person who loves & cares about you won't get undressed and sleep with another person while still involve with you. They no longer care. They care more about the person they cheated on you with more than they care about you.

Real men/women don't cheat. If he/she ever cheats on you, it was his/her decision, not any guy/girl's seduction. After all, we all have options to reject anything.

Cheating is not only when you take off your cloth and have s£x with someone else. If you have to delete the text, password your phone from your partner, talk or flirt with someone else behind their back, you're cheating already. Cheating is a sign that you don't respect your relationship/marriage and the one you claim to love. Cheating is disrespectful. It is a sign that you don't give a heck if the relationship breaks or not. You're not just scared to lose them. Cheating on a good heart is like throwing away a diamond just to pick a stone

The Nigerian civilwar started on the 6th of July,1967 and ended on the 15th of January,1970.

The War which broke out as a result of the decision of the South Eastern part of the newly independent country named Nigeria made a decision to become a Country and manager its own affairs due to a war between its citizens and Northeners.

Major Odumegwu Ojukwu who was then the Eastern Region Military governor was said to have resorted to a deliberation which may have not been honored by the head of state Gen. Yakubu Gowon.

The war which broke up after over a million of ibos was said to have been killed in a massacre by the Northerners and over 4 million displaced had made almost everything for their ambitious Nation ready in the course of the war. Talk To Tayo: Unhealthy Relationship Habits

Hello guys...how're you doing? And hope you all are coping in this cold weather?

Here's a little story on how certain issues are handled by couples and how it can be sorted or avoided.

This is brought to you by a writer who prefers to be identified as Tayo. So enjoy the story,remember to share and also video our blog for more stories and news.

My wife and I boarded a bus to Akure one certain day. We were both seated at the back seat talking and laughing over some issues.

We loved to gossip a lot. It had become so used to us. And because we were so used to each other, we playfully teased each other with insults we didn't mean.

My wife said something that annoyed me. But because we were both in the bus, I could not react. I called her an ugly woman so as to get back at her. I told her she looked like ogbanje's grandmother.

"Don't even talk to me till we come down from this bus." I spoke with all seriousness.

"Yes and you too. Don't talk to me." She retorted.

"Fine. Let's see who talks to who first. We shall see."

She knew I was angry, and she was also angry at me too for taking a mere joke serious.

We stopped talking and simply sat like strangers in the bus.

When we got to a park, the bus stopped and this very handsome looking guy entered the bus and sat beside my wife.

I noticed he kept taking frequent glances at my wife. She noticed it and tried to hold my hands, but I pulled my hands away from her angrily and turned towards the other side without saying a word.

"Hello beautiful." The young guy grinned at her.

His smiles were so magnetic. When I turned and saw his set of white teeth and pink lips, I feared for myself.

My wife didn't reply him. She kept her head face front and pretended not to hear anything.

"Where could a beautiful woman like you be going to? Really if I had a car I wouldn't let you take a bus."

As if that was not enough, he whispered into my wife ears and the next thing my wife bursted out in a wild laughter - a laughter I had not seen her laugh before. Some of the passengers had to even turn to look at her.

Then the guy went on.

"Are you married? I noticed the ring on your hand."

"Yes dear, I am married." My wife replied. "But don't worry, I am currently having issues with my husband. He said I am ugly. This morning he told me that I look like Ogbanje younger sister. He insulted me."

"He must be crazy. Who insults a beautiful woman like you? You are pretty. Don't mind him. I think he is blind. Some men these days don't appreciate their wives."

I turned and looked at the man. I felt like removing three teeth from the man's mouth with just one punch. But I remembered the fight with my wife and just kept quiet.

"Yes o. I am not minding him. At least someone has told me I am beautiful and wherever he is, I just hope he is hearing now o."

The young man laughed.

"You have a good sense of humour. I will love to have your number. We can be great friends."

That was where I did not hold it again.

I simply held my wife by her shoulders and pulled her close to me. I landed one original kiss on her lips and she started laughing.

Bros realised that I was her husband and suddenly became cold. He told the conductor he had reached his destination and wanted to come down. I believe he felt so embarrassed. I will if I was caught in his shoes.

While the bus drove, my wife asked me.

"Shey you say you won't talk to me? Why are you holding me and kissing me in public?"

"Ah! I had to identify and protect my property o. All these fine boys of now a days. They have no respect for people husbands again."

My wife laughed and rested her head on my shoulders.

This is exactly what happens when you quarrel with your spouse. The devil steps in and takes advantage of one partner just to destroy your relationship.

A preacher once asked the congregation.

"Do you think if Adam and Eve were together in the garden, the serpent would have still come?"

Well, I do not think so. He waited patiently for them until they were both apart, before he chose one partner and struck swiftly.

Hold on to your partner like an egg. Make peace with your lover. Show the devil that he can't have his way in your relationship or marriage. Do not give chance to the devil - do not allow the devil to strike!!!

Police Shoots 19 year-old For Impregnating Lady

A 19-year-old boy Ledesi Kote was reportedly shot by a police officer for impregnating a girl in Rivers State.According to doctors ,the young man may lose the leg to amputation.

According to Kote, the father of the victim, He was in his compound in K. Dere community in Gokana local government area of Rivers State on Friday, August 21, 2020, around 7am, when a Sienna drove into his compound with about four armed police men.

“They went straight to my son’s room door and were banging and cocking guns. I approached them to inquire from them what my son did wrong that they were looking for him, but none of them answered me. It was one of them who angrily told me that my son impregnated a girl.”.

According to the victim’s father, the next thing they heard from the backyard of his house was a gunshot.

He said one of the officers shot his son on the leg simply because he impregnated a girl and went away with him, while he was bleeding profusely and dumped him in a private hospital.

Comrade Karl Uchegbu, South-South Zonal Chairman of Civil Liberties Organizations quoted an anonymous human rights activist in the area as stating that, he and other lovers of justice took the father of the victim to the Rivers State Police Command headquarters on Moscow road in Port Harcourt, where an official complaint was lodged about what their officers did to an innocent boy, whose only crime was impregnating a girl.

It was gathered that arrangements were made for the immediate transfer of the victim from the village to a better government owned hospital in Port Harcourt.

Another activist who witnessed the incident regretted that;

”until now, the officer who did this is yet to take full responsibility of the medications. The doctor said the victim will have to undergo three different surgeries or else he might be amputated. We want justice for this boy. It could be me or you tomorrow”.

At the time of filing this report, the Rivers State Police Command headquarters is yet to react to the incident, especially the allegation that a Police Officer shot a boy.

Edo Deputy Gov Philip Shaibu Petitions Police,DSS Demands Arrest Of Oshiomole,Ize-Iyamu

Edo State deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, on Monday petitioned the Edo Police Command and the Department of State Services (DSS) asking for the prosecution of Adams Oshiomhole, former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in next month’s governorship election in the state, for allegedly recruiting and arming youths ahead of the poll.

Speaking to journalists in Benin City shortly after submitting the petition, Shaibu urged security agencies to take action and bring the duo to book so that the state can have peace.

He accused the duo of desperation for power which he said portends bad omen for the state.

The deputy governor alleged that Oshiomhole is plotting to set the state ablaze in connivance with his party’s gubernatorial candidate.

“I have to cry out because I know both of them very well, even in the dark; I can clearly identify their hands. I am concerned because if not checked, it portends grave danger for our state, before, during and after the September 19, 2020 gubernatorial election,” Shaibu said.

I believe you are all aware of the recent killings in their camp, where five members were mauled down in Ikhin, Owan West Local Government Area of the state.

“On Friday, August 14, 2020, the youths gathered in Ikhin to share money after their poorly organised rally in Afuze. A disagreement within them led to the shooting that resulted in the death of five youths. The question here is, who armed the youths to kill themselves? This clearly shows that the APC former national chairman has pushed out so much arms in readiness for the election as they have nobody on ground supporting them,” he alleged.

“I fear for our youths and those from the neighbouring states who are being recruited and armed to go kill themselves. Shaibu said he does not believe that blood of innocent youths must be shed to achieve anyone’s personal ambition.

“I am not just raising false alarm; I know both of them very well like the back of my palm,” he said.

After pouring out what he tagged “catalogue of atrocities committed by Oshiomhole and Ize-Iyamu”, Shaibu admonished the security agencies to “take action now and bring them to book so that Edo can have peace, otherwise their desperation and thirst for power portends bad omen for our dear state”.

Cyprus Killings:FG Warns Parents Against Sending Their Children To Cyprus

Nigerians in Diaspora Commission has warned Nigerian parents against sending their children to universities in Northern Cyprus over the incessant and mysterious killing of Nigerians.

Chairman/CEO of the commission, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who gave the warning on Monday, said it was too risky to send children to the schools in Northern Cyprus as hundreds of Nigerian students had been killed there mysteriously without any conclusive investigations carried out.

Dabiri-Erewa said this when she received in her office, a delegation led by Justice Amina Bello, mother of a Nigerian student, Ibrahim Khaleel, who was allegedly killed in an inexplicable circumstance in that country.

She stressed that the death of Khaleel, a third-year engineering student, had brought to a high point the incessant killing of Nigerian students in Northern Cyprus under worrying circumstances.

The NIDCOM boss, who read out 15 names of Nigerians from a list of more than 100 who were killed in Northern Cyprus, said it was difficult to employ international diplomacy in investigation as the country is only recognised by Turkey.

She Said;

“The death of Ibrahim Khaleel should be the tipping point to a stop in the killing of our children anywhere in the world, esoecially Northern Cyprus.

“It is not only Ibrahim. Kennedy Dede, 28; Augustine Ngok, Gabriel Sorewei, Osabanjo Owoyale, Augustine Wallace, Stanley Eteno, Hassan Babatunde, Temitayo Adigun, and Kubat Abraham are just a few of the ones that we even know.

“The problem is that most Nigerian parents do not know that Northern Cyprus is not recognised by any country in the world.

“It is not a UN-recognised country. It is only recognised by Turkey. That is why we have not been able to do much.

“Who do you report to? Thousands of Nigerian students are schooling there and I tell you that hundreds have been killed. Who do you take these cases to?

“And they are killed in similar circumstances. The school just tells you, ‘Well, they committed suicide,’ and nothing happens.

“We are going to list all these names of Nigerians that have been killed and we demand justice. There has been no prosecution and no compensation.

“No Nigerian parent should send their children to any university in Northern Cyprus – there is a collaboration which we do not understand that makes them kill blacks, particularly our Nigerian students,” she said.

She assured the mother of the deceased student that the commission would work with her to demand justice, not only for her son but also for other Nigerians who have been killed while studying in Northern Cyprus.

She said the case had already been transferred to INTERPOL through the office of the Attorney General of the Federation.

The NIDCOM chairman recalled that when she was a serving lawmaker and Sorewei’s killing was on the front burner in Nigeria, the school which seemed unapologetic about the killing had already sent its agents to lure more Nigerians with juicy scholarships.

While acknowledging that Nigerian schools needed improvements, she gave an assurance of President Muhammadu Buhari’s dedication to improving the education sector and insisted that many Nigerian schools were better than some of the acclaimed foreign universities in spite of the odds.

She said that there were already reports that many of the courses being offered by the “shoddy” universities in Northern Cyprus were not accredited, pledging that NIDCOM would work with the Nigerian Universities Commission for a possible blacklist of certificates from the country.

“Yes our universities have challenges. There are strikes and you don’t (always) know when you are going to finish but there are some of these universities that you will regret you even went to, including some in Africa.

“It is better to go to a private university here than to go to some of these places that we go to in the name of ‘our children are in Europe’.

“We have written the NUC. The key thing is to blacklist Northern Cyprus and to stop our children from going to that country to study.

“We will be working with the NUC to list all the universities in Northern Cyprus and blacklist them. We cannot be letting them kill our children.

She said that NIDCOM had met with the Ambassador of Turkey to Nigeria, who being new, said he was unaware of the killing but promised to look into the matter.

She added there were plans by NIDCOM to visit Northern Cyprus after the COVID-19 Pandemic to see thing as clearly as they were.

She urged Nigerians schooling abroad to make it a point of duty to always report to the Nigerian mission in that country upon arrival.

Speaking earlier, the mother of the late student said that she was yet to come to terms with the death of her son whom was reported to have committed suicide but circumstances showed otherwise.

She said that autopsy reports and investigations which she had requested in the past seven months were yet to come, adding that the school authorities were being evasive.

She said that while she was told by authorities that her son jumped from the 7th floor of a building, there was no visible injury on his body or head to suggest that.

According to Oyakhilome who has been more outspoken and active on social issues in recent times since the outbreak of COVID-19 during a recent telecast insisted it is high time Africans stop claiming to be black as black signifies the absence of direction and evil.

AGF Malami Ordered My Arrest For Refusing To Implicate Magu - Lawyer,Victor Giwa.

A lawyer, Victor Giwa, has alledged the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), that he ordered his arrest because he refused to implicate the suspended acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu.

Giwa said this in a statement on Sunday after he was released from the EFCC custody.

The lawyer was arrested alongside one Fatima Hassan last week shortly after they testified before the Justice Ayo Salami-led panel which is investigating Magu.

Giwa’s former client, Donald Wokoma, who was a Director at Damijay Integrated Services, had told the panel through a sworn affidavit that his bank account was frozen by Magu unjustly and he subsequently hired Giwa to sue the EFCC.

Wokoma, who is a former special assistant to Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, had said after the court ordered that the account be unfrozen that Magu through his ‘boys’ demanded N75m from him as a condition for obeying the order.

Wokoma, who submitted text messages and audio clips of his conversation with Giwa, said the latter told him that Magu had demanded the money and advised him as his lawyer to pay the bribe.

However, when Giwa appeared before the panel, he denied the bribery allegation, insisting that Magu was a man of integrity. He was later arrested.

Giwa, however, accused the AGF of instigating his arrest.

He said this in a statement titled, ‘Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN) Is Using Donald Wokoma, My Erstwhile Client Against Me For My Refusal To Testify And Indict Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman of EFCC, At The Justice Ayo Salami Panel Investigating The EFCC Boss’.

The statement read in part, “On August 18 and 19, 2020, I was invited by the Justice Ayo Salami Panel, sitting in Aso Villa to testify against Ibrahim Magu through a conspiracy between the AGF, Malami (SAN) and Donald Wokoma, the sacked Special Adviser to Vice President Prof YemiOsibanjo, whom I have represented and secured a judgement in his favour.

“Donald Wokoma was investigated for fleecing the sum of N250m from amnesty programme, through his company Damijay Integrated Services, by receiving contracts he never executed. His account was restricted by the EFCC.

“On July 11, 2020, Donald Wokoma was scheduled to be arraigned before Justice Akanbi at FCT High Court, Lugbe. Donald Wokoma was absent and I represented him and the case was adjourned till October 10, 2020, for arraignment.

“Donald (Wokoma) in a desperate move to subvert the administration of justice, to quash or suspend his trial conspired with persons in the AGF office who had promised to frustrate the trial and release (sic) the restricted account.

“To achieve this aim, the AGF requested that Donald (Wokoma) have me to do a petition against Ibrahim Magu to the Justice Ayo Salami Panel, accusing Ibrahim Magu of graft and having me to testify against the (suspended) EFCC boss, an offer I declined.

“Donald (Wokoma) in cahoots with the AGF procured a lawyer who did the petition, which was forwarded by the AGF to the panel.”

The lawyer said surprisingly, Wokoma in a sudden twist, accused him of being a ‘Magu boy’.

“It was my refusal and my stand to defend the truth and not to consent to the subversion of Justice that the AGF ordered my arrest and that of Fatima Hassan, a lawyer, whose testimony absolves me and Ibrahim Magu from any wrongdoing,” Giwa added.

Attempts to get a reaction from the AGF proved abortive as he neither responded to calls nor a text message on Monday.

His Spokesman, Umar Gwandu, could not also be reached for comment.

Edo Governorship APC Candidate,Ize-Iyamu Set to Train and Rehabilitate Touts and 'Agberos'

candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Edo Governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has said he has no plan to return the loosely organized gangs commonly known as ‘AGBEROS’ to the streets of Edo State, Igbere TV reports.

Pastor Ize-Iyamu said instead, he intends to rehabilitate and reintegrate them into the society as useful and responsible participants if elected as the next Governor of Edo State.

In a statement released on Monday by his Campaign Organization, forwarded to Igbere TV, Ize-Iyamu attributed the false report of his purported plan to return the gangs back to the state to terrorize residents as a deliberate falsehood manufactured and spread by the opposition to deceive the electorates and conceal the hypocrisy and alleged fraud of the incumbent Governor Obaseki.

He says Governor Godwin Obaseki continues to obtain tax with questionable and non-state actors such as Chief Odion Olaye, Austin Edosomwan, who was the former Vice to Comrade Tony Kabaka, Kelly Okungbowa (aka Ebo Stone), and many others despite awarding a corrupt contract to his personal firm, VIISAUS, to claim nearly 10% of all collected taxes.

Ize-Iyamu said while Obaseki has merely entrusted power to his own brand of loyal thugs who continue to fleece the state and terrorize the people, he would bring the problem to a conclusive end with a transitional program contained in the Manpower Development section of his SIMPLE agenda meant to rehabilitate and empower the agberos before their re-integration into the society to live responsibly and make useful contributions.

The statement read: “It is important to state categorically that there are no plans to bring “Agberos” to the state as being erroneously peddled by the opposition and their co-travelers.”

“Unlike the incumbent who merely politicized the situation and compounded it with his reckless actions that reflect the scattershot approach and unpreparedness of his administration to offer conclusive solutions to the problems confronting Edo State, our manifesto, the SIMPLE agenda has already captured and proffered solutions to the ‘Agbero’ situation, specifically under the ‘M’ which stands for Manpower Development and Training.”

“The government of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu will not force all the actors or people referred to as ‘Agberos’ on self-exile to Libya or the Mediterranean Sea to die as they remain sons and daughters of Edo State. Instead, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu will institute a transitional and rehabilitation program for the training and empowerment of these actors to help them become self-sustaining entrepreneurs in a chosen field to help them useful to themselves and the society at large.”

“Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu will also take the actors through a re-orientation process that will make their future operations, if any, conform with current global best standards and practices in the revenue collector sectors.”

“These are practical plans that will bring this problem to an end. It is not enough to merely replace a set of collectors with another set as the incumbent government has lazily done, despite embarking on a campaign of deceit to blur the facts.”

“Edo people should ask the government of Governor Godwin Obaseki the roles and job functions of the following individuals and their companies in the revenue collection process at the state and local government level: Chief Odion Olaye (Olaye International Nigeria Ltd.), Pastor Sunny Erhahon (A.E Contractors Ltd.), Austin Edosomwan (former Vice to Comrade Tony Kabaka), Kelly Okungbowa (aka Ebo Stone), S.I. Ofeimu (Uniworld Integrated Service), Charles Momoh (Smart Jeff Nigeria Ltd.), Samuel Kelvin Ayo (Saeppin Nigeria Ltd.), Afigie Ogene (Baskyuy Nigeria Ltd.), Dirisu Shuabi O. (Schevshenco & Dad Ent Ltd.) and host of others who are all engaged in the so-called ‘Agbero’ or revenue collection in the state.”

“The real truth, which Governor Godwin Obaseki is trying to shield from the public knowledge, is that he had used the word ‘Agberos’ to blackmail Edo people while introducing his personal private company called VIISAUS that now collects a whooping percentage of 7% as service provider and 2.5% as technical partner on all total revenue collection of both Edo State Government and all the local government revenue collection in the state.”

“This runs into millions of naira every month outside the other charges for scratch cards and POS maintenance cost drawn by the Lagos companies.”
