The press release that was send out was picked up and written about on some popular Dutch and Belgian weblogs, and skoeps.nl and discoverychannel.nl offered free bannerspace. It didn't take long before the first responses came in.

Eventually Canon replied, offering a Canon EOS 400D with all requested accessoires in response to this, in their opinion, nice initiative. The cam itself has been ordered and I have in fact been invited to come pick it up in person next week. Canon has yet to determine what they would like to receive in return.

Curious how this story continues? Read the follow ups on this site..

Status Update

Curious how things are going? Well, local succes has been reached: In the past few weeks several reknown Dutch Blogs wrote about this site and its idea. Some think it's brilliant, some think it's total bollocks, but as long as this site is being written about, I'm happy. Two parties who really liked the idea, actually offered me free advertising space! DiscoveryChannel.nl and Skoeps.nl are now showing my skyscraper banners, generating a steady flow of local traffic. Thanx for that guys!

Meanwhile, I have been contacted by three parties interested in seriously giving me a camera! Unbelievable, I know. We're into negotiations right now, but meanwhile I'd still like to request everyone in need for either photos or a photographer to think about mailing me!

Now why would I do that?

Ah, wouldn't we all like a camera like this. The new Canon EOS 400D, the new and improved big brother of the EOS 350D. The perfect professional camera for amateurs. Unfortunately not every aspiring photographer can afford one, although the photos one will make with such a piece of equipment are worth a million.

This got me thinking. Wouldn't there be someone who's willing to give me this camera, in return for my photos?

You interested? Then check this site, you'll find my photo portfolio, a full wish-list, a specification of what you'll get in return, and lot's of other usefull information.
