Previously, we reported that iOS 5 Beta 6 would arrive on August 17′th but it seems Apple can remotely change the date of arrival in the static file as shown in the image above.

The wipe out process will occur on November 12th, 10AM Pacific time.

With the 2nd wiping off to be occurring tomorrow, a launch date is expected to be close as Apple has missed their October 31st launch date.

The build number for iOS 5.0.1 is 9A405.  This is a very minor update as Apple is still looking for a fix into the iPhone 4S battery issue.  Of course, iOS 5.0.1 was not only based on a battery fix for the iPhone 4S with 5.0.1 enabling multitasking gestures for the iPad 1st gen (again), fixes the Smart Cover for the iPad 2nd Gen flaw (hack), resolves bugs with the Documents in the Cloud (iCloud) feature, and finally, improves Siri voice recognition for Australian iPhone 4S users.

This update is also available via Software Update in iTunes or using the OTA (Over The Air) update service directly on your iOS 5 iDevice under Settings – General – Software Update.

This app would allow you send a text message to the contacts on your phone, and a facebook message to your facebook friends.  You can even insert pictures as well!

This is obviously a competitor app to compete with the upcoming Apple iMessage app, and the BlackBerry Messenger App, and all of the other messaging based apps.  With more than 700 million Facebook users, I’m sure it would do just fine as a contendor.

This new app is available on the iTunes App Store and the Android Market.  It is also based on the Beluga Technology that they have recently acquired.

The process is actually really simple as you can see from the images.

Apple lets you take your Mail, Contacts, and Calendars data to iCloud.  iWeb, iDisk, and Photo Gallery can be used until June 30, 2012.

Apple also tells us that these features will no longer be available when you make the switch.  Dashboard widget sync, dock item sync, keychains, signatures, mail account rules, mail smart boxes, and mail preferences.

BGR has posted some interesting details on the new models, which will come in five different SKUs as previously reported and will be lighter at around a half-pound less than the current generation. BGR also claims the new MBPs will have bigger glass trackpads.  - MacStories.net

The newest and latest rumor is regarding the Hard Drive/SSD combo that would allow the new Macbook Pros to store the whole OS on the SSDs (Solid State Drives) and load everything else straight from the Hard Drive: The next bit of information doesn’t quite make sense to us, but we have been told the OS on the laptops will be loaded to a separate (internal) 8-16GB SSD while everything else will remain on the regular hard drive. There will be options for just SSD drives but the base models will feature regular hard disks with the SSD combo for the OS. – MacStories.net

I personally think this will be a really good addition to the Macbook Pros because it will definitely attract a lot of customers who has been doing this with other PCs as well – to achieve a faster OS and yet still able to store hundreds of GB’s of files/media on their computers: Installing the OS on the 8/16gb SSD and loading media and apps on a regular Hard Drive would definitely increase the Macbook Pro’s potential but maybe even other Macs as well.

I also will personally go with the single but yet more expensive SSD option.

Regarding the better screens, and better battery:

The sometimes reliable MacGeneration claims that Apple’s new MacBook Pros will feature higher resolution displays, better battery life, a lighter design, in addition to the rumored separate SSDs to store the operatingsystem. – 9to5mac.com

MacGeneration also claims that the 2011 Macbook Pros will include a 3rd USB port, another screen option, and an i3 processor.  They also mentioned that there will be an option to replace the superdrive in the 15 and 17″ models with another SSD drive as mentioned above.

The 2011 Macbook Pros are also said to adopt a new and higher resolution screen (1440×900 on the 13″, and 1680×1050 on the 15″).  They are also rumored to be 200-300 grams lighter and feature longer battery life -

12 hours of wireless productivity on the 13 inch and 10 hours on the 15 inch. – 9to5mac.com

MacGeneration also claims that the 17″ Macbook Pros will have 8GB of RAM as the standard.  Finally, the report also mentions that the white 13″ Macbooks will be dropped from the lineup as well.

This makes sense with the 13 inch MacBook Airs’ current success/prices and the new 13 inch MacBook Pro. – 9to5mac.com

The next update for iOS 5 (beta 6) will be due on August 17th which is a Wednesday.  9to5Mac has reported that the same source that gave them the exact date for today’s release of iOS 5 Beta 5 which was a Saturday, states that since we are a few days away from the planned release date, the seeding of these new updates can be delayed due to late bugs or other reasons could be out of control.

As you can see it is very simple to activate, all you got to do is press the little microphone icon next to the space bar, and it start talking.  Once, the icon is tapped, a new microphone image should appear as long as you are talking. The text would appear after that as you can see from the image above.

This feature is just in beta testing, and it would probably look different when the final version of iOS 5 gets released in September.  This has also been rumored to be only for the iPhone and iPod Touch but the iPad might support it.  This would be very similar as to having notification widgets and voice control limited to the iPhone and the iPod Touch.
