Next Gen Call of Duty Engine To Only Power PS4, Next Xbox, PC

Before you read further chalk this one up in the rumor books for now (of course until the publisher announces things) but we decided to roll with it. As you may or may not know Microsoft will be unveiling their next generation Xbox console on May 21, just a few days from now. It is already confirmed that Activision will be on hand during the reveal to also show a next generation engine that will be powering their Call of Duty series of games going forward.

We have learned from our tipster that this next generation engine will ONLY power the PS4, next Xbox, and PC version of COD: Ghosts, as well as all future COD titles. Sounds somewhat obvious, given that the current PS3 and Xbox 360 are nearing their end of life, but we have seen stranger things happen in the past. Look for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to be powered by the current generation engine. All will be told in a few short days.
