Here’s a story about Ashley Owen Hill, a very good samaritan who devotes her heart to all the animals she takes in under her care, much to my surprise for she really cared for the dogs and I never thought a person could love the stray dogs that we see over the streets, ill and under-fed like she does.

I saw her post and I quickly went to her website and Facebook page to keep updated about her stories. It was so touching and I can feel she wrote with her heart, not mind.

Annie had never known happiness. She had been beaten, neglected, and starved all of her life, and then she was dumped at a shelter to die. Annie waited on death row, terrified and lonely, crying every night for someone to help her. She was very ill, and the pound asked if I was willing to take her. Yep, I’m on my way.

I was asked to share the story about what I do for special case dogs on death row in shelters. I do realize that this might not be the most popular idea with all of you, but I’m hoping that maybe it will inspire someone to do the same. If you ever have the chance to do this, it will change your life. When there are terminally ill dogs on death row, I’ve made the decision to do something very special for them.

Because treating these dogs for their conditions would cause them immense suffering, I choose not to treat them. However, I also choose not to leave them in the shelter to be killed. In short, I bring them into my home for a few days. I adopt them into my heart. I love them with all that I have. And then I do what’s best for them… and let them go…

Before She Goes to Heaven – Annie Needs to Know Love

When I saw Annie, it was obvious that she was very sick. She was underweight, coughing, and having trouble breathing, in addition to skin and eye issues. The vet told me that Annie had advanced heartworm disease, congestive heart failure, and several other severe medical conditions. It was highly unlikely that she would pull through any of the treatments, and she would suffer tremendously throughout the process. The vet asked me if I wanted to go ahead with euthanasia. “No. I’ll bring her back next week. Before she goes to Heaven, she needs to know love.”

Annie Has the Best Week of Her Life

That day, I brought Annie home with me. I looked at her… so broken, so sickly, so unsure of whether she could trust… and I cried. I sobbed uncontrollably for Annie. Over the sad life she had led, the abuse she had endured, and now the life she would never have, thanks to the worthless people who never cared for her.

While I was bawling like a baby, Annie walked over and licked my tears, as if to say: “Don’t be sad. It’ll be okay.” This precious, wounded soul was comforting me. This girl, who had never known compassion in her life, was consoling me. And so, I got up, stopped my crying, and vowed to give her the best week of her entire life. No more crying. Not around Annie. She deserves to know only happiness now.

That week, Annie slept in the bed with me. She ate the best food. She played as much as her little heart could stand. She laid next to me on the couch for belly rubs. She laughed at funny movies with me. That week, Annie was special. That week, Annie was home, for the first time in her life.

Every day, Annie and I sat on my special bench by Rudy’s grave and talked to him. I told Rudy that he would have a new friend in Heaven soon, and asked him to take care of her. I told Rudy all about Annie, and Annie all about Rudy. Annie loved our talks with Rudy. She loved anything that involved love… she’d never had it before.

When Annie got so weak that it was painful for her to live, I took her to the vet to end her suffering. I stayed with her, comforted her… and Annie wasn’t afraid. She was happy, because I was there with her. Her mom was by her side… the only family she had ever known. The only person who had ever truly loved her. She was finally safe.

Annie knew it was time… it hurt too much to go on. And I was there to hold her, to love her, to say, “It’s okay. You can go now, baby girl.” And as they stuck her with the needle, I whispered into her ear:

Know That I Love You

“Know that I loved you. Know that you mattered. Know that you finally belonged to someone—you were everything to me. You will never really be gone, because you will live forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your last days with me. It was truly an honor to love you.”

As the drugs entered Annie’s veins, she looked up at me one last time, and her eyes said, “Thank you for not letting me die there. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for showing me what life could be like… for giving me a family. I always wanted one. I love you.”

And before she closed her eyes forever, I said: “When you get to Heaven, ask for Rudy. Tell him I sent you.” And then… she was gone. I buried Annie in my backyard next to Rudy. She died on September 14, 2010. But the week before her death, she finally lived.

Beautiful right? Just beautiful.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 24 — Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will start giving extra flights to eight selected destination namely Beijing, Manila, Phnom Penh, Los Angeles, Taipei, Bangkok, Medan and Jakarta which six of it is served by AirAsia. These destinations will be operated mostly using B737-800 and B777-200 aircraft which all come equipped with in-seat personal TV screens and more leg room for customer comfort. The total capacity to the eight cities will increase by about 25 per cent from 19,540 seats to 24,820 by May 1.

Meanwhile, the dropped destinations are Rome, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Buenos Aires, Karachi, Dubai, Surabaya and Bandung (nooooo!!!). Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, the CEO of MAS, reportedly said the suspension of these services will improve loads, increase yields and boost profit by RM220-302 million next year. Another scary thing is that MAS is also planning to stop flights from Kota Kinabalu to Osaka, Seoul and Perth.

Malaysia Airlines Increase Extra Flights to Eight Cities-Destinations and Pricing

Services to Phnom Penh have been bumped up by 55 per cent to 14 weekly services with fares starting at RM814.

Frequencies to Bangkok have increased to four a day with return fares starting from just RM883.

MAS also added one daily flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with fares starting from RM1,249.

Flights to Manila have been increased 50 per cent to 21 weekly flights with return all-inclusive economy-class fares starting from RM1,357.

Flights for Kuala Lumpur-Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur-Medan have also been increased with fares starting from RM647 and RM477.

The airline also added one weekly flight to Los Angeles via Tokyo, increasing the total from three to four, with fares starting at RM3,449.

The Kuala Lumpur-Taipei sector also saw an increase of three weekly flights, making the route a daily one. Fares start at RM1,369, said MAS.

A female tiger has lost her cubs due to premature labor. Shortly after that she became depressed, her health was declining and she was diagnosed with depression. Poor thing. Piglets wrapped up in tiger cloth, giving them the appearance that they’re tiger cubs, were given to the mother tiger. She now loves them and treats them like her babies. =) Awwww….isn’t it just cute…another disaster turned for the better here. =)

So I thought it was nothing then came the itch….it was unbearable and boy did it felt good to scratch it away…. xD Then in the end I’m left with something flat (like normal skin) but dark spots (scars). It wasn’t nice to see and for me a beauty therapist it wasn’t acceptable! It’ll totally ruin my ‘pretty’ look and customer’s confidence in me once they see it!

I Think it’s Bed Bug Bite.. Dermatologist Visit

I went to a dermatologist in Damai, Kota Kinabalu, Dr Melinda Tong. My mom got me there and so I went and she prescribed me with some cream and a body lotion. Paid…forget but it was definitely RM100+ for that (less than RM200) and the cream didn’t work and the body lotion was good. =)

And so I was still left with itchy red bumps all over me and it gets more and more day by day, but not a lot at a time.

I Think it’s Bed Bug Bite..Laser Treatment

I did laser treatment on the areas and also applied some creams on them from my company’s line and it worked well! Immediately after the laser I didn’t feel itchy on it until the scab dropped off and it’ll reveal a flat surface already with no puss coming out! As for the scars, I did the lightener cream on it since…I think October 2011 and now it’s getting better with a few more laser treatments. It was a lot of work really. I’m soooo tired of treating this but I have no choice.

Pretty girl= good service right? Yes I’m right. Don’t tell me I’m wrong cuz I’m not gonna listen to you either way. Imagine a beauty consultant with so many dark scars on her legs and face, you’re not gonna wanna believe anything she says right? Right. I’m always right one~ xD

I Think it’s Bed Bug Bite..Itch Won’t Stop!

Despite having lasers done a few times….I find that the bites are further deep down in my skin and it appears to be a small red dot, pen-like dot and it itches at times. So it’s not a good thing for me if I want to have no scars from scratching.

One day when I got home I got two new red bumps 1 on my elbow and another on my neck but they don’t get bumpy and itchy like the rest on my lower body! Now they seemed to have settled down and thank God for that, miraculously.

I started to think that it’s not flea bites anymore and thinking of getting some blood tests done already.

So I googled!

I stumbled into a website and it gave away a few natural home remedies for bed bug bites and I find it very alluring. The sound of putting onion on my skin sounds very inviting, imagine the stinging sensation an onion gives to your skin…what more that open skin of mine that is itching…it would be heaven!! xD

I have a few that I’ll try them out soon.

♥ Make a thick paste of cornstarch and water and apply it to the red bumps caused by bed bug bites. This is a very useful remedy, as cornstarch removes the poison present in the affected area.
♥ Make a thick paste by mixing one tablespoon each of salt and baking soda with some water. This is also one of the most common bed bug bite treatments.
♥ Apply aloe vera gel to the bed bug bite, as it is a natural skin treatment. Similarly you can use honey.
♥ Apply a slice of raw potato on the bed bug bitten area.

As for relieving the itch part…
♥ Spray some lavender oil which provide immediate relief from skin irritation.
♥ Add a cup of ground oatmeal to your bathtub. The bathtub should be filled with lukewarm water. This is very effective in reducing itchiness of the skin.
♥ Garlic, cayenne and mint can be applied to the affected areas, and preferably mint owing to its aromatic properties.
♥ Rubbing banana peel right on the bitten part of the skin also reduces itching.You can also get instant relief by using some starchy substances like arrowroot powder, mallow root powder, or grated potato.

Effective Acne Treatment With Sea Salt Methods

Here are the ways to use sea salt combating acne.

♥ Steaming. Put some sea salt in a pot of water and let it boil. It’ll take out the toxics and it’s actually good for your respiratory system! Repeat about 1-2 times a week. For starters, let’s go with once a week. =)

♥ Cloth. This method is easy. Take a clean cloth and cut out holes for your eyes and nose or you can buy mask sheets for cheap at beauty supplier stores, then mix some sea salt with warm water, dip the cloth/ mask sheet in then put it on your face for 10-15 minutes, or even longer! But remember having too much salt will dry out your face so be careful and moisturize your face after this method. =)

♥ Sea salt scrub. Mix honey and sea salt in a bowl then scrub away! =)If you feel some stings it’s okay- it’s the salt working it’s magic but of course, if you can’t stand it, wash it off!

♥ Sea salt bath. Put some sea salt in a tub full of water then immerse yourself in it for about 30 minutes. Do this 1-2 times a week.

♥ Sea salt toner. Mix sea salt with water then put it in a bottle. Use cotton pad to apply or you can just straightaway spray it to your face but of course logically the spray might get into your eyes or areas that you don’t want the water to go to and dry them out. =) So careful here!

Do you guys know about Seven Sea Restaurant? Especially to Sabahans, kamu tau ka pasal Seven Sea Restaurant? Well I didn’t until a friend posted a picture of it’s delicious burger with potato wedges and melted cheese! It looked something like the amount New York New York but the quality of food would be (I think) something like Bella Italia‘s- fresh, handmade with no/least chemicals. =D Intriguing?

Kaum Sungai, a native Sabahan race living in Kampung Sukau, Kinabatangan, has been treated like dogs by politics. Why I said politics instead of the name/group of people? Read on.

Kaum Sungai People ‘Treated like Dogs’ Story

Zulmat bin Dullamit, one of the residences at Kampung Sukau said that they had been treated like dogs and was forced to leave their homes in 2008. They also had been threatened by all means, houses been torn down, gangsters were sent and even a bulldozer! Omg.

All these were done by a company called Campo Sdn Bhd. The company only gave them RM5,000 as compensation for taking their land and of course, the people didn’t agree to it. Kampung Sukau is their only place in the world where they can earn a living – have a life where it has always been.

All these while Zulmat said that they thought that the government could help them, more importantly, their Wakil Rakyat, Saddi Abdul Rahman but he was reported to be a ‘teruk‘ one and irresponsible.

Unbelievable.

Katif bin Kussoi, one of the residents, said that the people won’t budge. They won’t give up their rights and I believe that’s what they should do. Must do.
