Glasgow has many versatile and unique filming locations and over the years has doubled as London, New York, Philidelphia and San Francisco.

While the Olympic Games are taking place in London this summer, why not consider Glasgow as your film location?

Central London is expected to be full of tourists and international media during the Games but Glasgow can offer a stress free alternative.

Most recently Cloud Atlas came to the city to film modern day London (as well as 1970’s San Francisco). The small screen has also seen Glasgow transformed into London with BBC4 drama Hattie recreating 1960s Earls Court and the BBC1 production of Garrows Law using locations to double as 18thC London.

To see what the city can offer please check out our <a href="http://www.glasgowfilm.com/filming_in_glasgow/Locations.asp"target="_blank">location database where we have created a dedicated London Doubles category or contact us directly for more information. info@glasgowfilm.com

The public is invited to collaborate on a unique feature-length documentary film about Scotland. Northern Lights is a first in a lifetime mass participation film project funded by the Year Of Creative Scotland 2012, which aims to create a view of Scotland that goes beyond media stereotypes to reflect the lives, hopes and dreams of the people who live - or once lived - on these isles.

People of all backgrounds and ages, across all areas of Scotland are invited to respond, with filmed contributions, to three questions:

•	What can you see?
•	What do you wish you had seen?
•	What would you like to see?

Videos can be submitted from 20th March until 21st June on the Northern Lights <a href="http://www.wearenorthernlights.com"target="_blank">website.

Videos will be featured on the website and the Northern Lights YouTube channel, and will automatically be eligible to win one of the Northern Lights Awards. Various awards totaling £10,000 are on offer to the most compelling contributions in a range of categories, including the People’s Choice Award for the most popular contribution to the project.
