I have to say thank you because every week I am getting some fantastic feedback about our Gloven oven gloves.  I know it seems crazy to me now when I am sending Gloven to every part of the UK and the world.  A few years ago I was a teacher who had an idea to make a thinner oven glove that gave more dexterity in the kitchen.  I have to say its not been an easy journey when trying to get a new product into the high st and Gloven is still not on the high street we just have a great selection of niche kitchen shops throughout the UK that are stocking our product.  I value every customer that purchases Gloven because without them I would have no business.  So read this lovely email I received this morning.

I find the usual oven glove too bulky and long stopped using one, opting instead for grabbing a teatowel. It is not rare for me to drop a baking tray or saucepan as it slips from my grip and I have a number of scars on my arm from where I’ve caught my arm on the oven shelf due to not wearing oven gloves. I remember seeing Gloven on Dragon’s Den and thinking it was a fab idea – an oven glove that protects from the heat, but fits like a glove and gives the dexterity that only wearing a fitted glove can give.

We’re now properly into hot soups and casserole season – prime time for accidents, especially when trying to lift the lid off a casserole dish to check and stir – so I was really pleased to be sent a pair of Glovens to review.

Unlike conventional oven gloves there is no bulk and they fit like proper gloves, not oversized mittens which make it difficult to hold and handle anything. Fitting like a glove I was able to easily remove roasting tins, casserole dishes and baking trays from the oven without any slips or mishaps. Saucepans could be easily held and tilted for draining without sliding out of my grip into the sink and I could keep the Gloven on for more dexterous tasks should as stirring or turning food over.

Despite my husband’s scepticism that they would take too long to put on and would therefore not be used, they were quick to pop on and didn’t take as long as it used to take me to fold a tea towel and manoeuve it round a hot dish to remove from the oven in a less than safe and secure manner. I’ve used my gloven everyday since it arrived. And, I’ve not burnt myself since it’s arrived either – something that is definately not a conincidence.
