When our client told us that he wanted tobuild a farmhouse over 5 acres in Hamilton pool,we said sure, then he said he
wanted to grow everything he was going to eat there we said WOW! The great
thing about building green homes, is that every time we encounter a new
challenge. Every client wants different things. In this particular case, Our
client also wanted a water harvesting system, a well, a composting system, a
gray water recycling system, a pond, a pool etc. The home itself was an
architectural undertaking with many elements. He was looking for a particular
look, and the tower, to overlook the land was important.

At the end of all things I think all that he
was looking for was achieved. Our goal as custom home builders is to do just
that. Now that the house is complete, harvesting the land and growing
everything is a challenge but knowing our client we know, just like his home,
all of that is achievable, its like building green homes, its all about how
passionate you are about it.

This home incorporates special features, it has 2 kitchens, a regular kitchen and a composting kitchen a well and a barn.

A composting kitchen allows for the recycling of food., it is the biological process of breaking up of organic waste such as leaves, grass trimmings, food waste. paper and coffee grounds. This recycling process allowed by building a composting kitchen will enable our clients to make free fertilized soil.

Since they will grow almost everything on their 5 acres in Hamilton pool (vegetables, fruits, and cattle) a composting kitchen will serve a main purpose in this property.

We are still in the process of building this unique secondary kitchen and making sure that it is designed in a manner that is both beneficial and practical to compost. As an Austin custom home builder, it is our goal that we build customized areas for our clients which fulfill the initial purpose for which they were designed and to be utilized.

A barn, well, pond and pool are also part of this wonderful project, they all are too customized to our client’s requirements. We will post photos when this project is completed.

Two kitchens will be built, a compost one for recycling and composting and a cooking kitchen with 3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms and a third floor overlooking the five acres this property will be situated on.

Is there a correlation?

Absolutely. Choosing a painting should be consistent with the overall style of the home decoration. If the home is modern, then a modern painting is more appropriate, if the home is of a traditional style, then one should consider a traditional/non modern painting.

European style rooms, such as French, Italian and Spanish would be great settings for Impressionist style paintings or some that are in the Classical style.

Modern style homes offer a great setting for paintings which are Modern, to Ultra Modern Paintings and Abstract style.

Austin interior design varies from one client to the other. As an Austin Custom builder, we have the privilege of assisting our clients on many levels and we pay attention to the smallest detail because of our focus on interiors and construction.

Once the style of painting has been determined, the location of these paintings in the house needs to be decided upon. It depends on matching the size of the piece and colors of the painting to the area where it will be hung.

Below my paintings ‘mother and child’ in reds and blues and in yellows; ‘There is always a brighter tomorrow’ both in Acrylics. The one on the left, I find would fit a classical setting and the one on the right could fit a more of a modern setting, but not an ultra modern one.

This 2400 sqf home in Northwest Hills will be transformed on the interiors and exteriors to have a new modern feel and look. A major remodel is expected to change its interiors with the addition of 300 sqf of a master bedroom upstairs. Glass tiles, concrete walls, wood floors and a beautiful kitchen at the back of the home with a view to the outside is the final vision for this project. Sitting on a third of an acre this home will allow for a pool and great landscaping complementing the new architecture, construction and interior design. This 2200 sqf 4 stars energy custom home has many green features. A dream home for our clients which fit their interest in Modern architecture and design as well as green building. It has passive heating and cooling design features; the large windows which allow the flow of natural light, window awnings & oversized porch & large overhangs block any direct sun. An innovative roof system made of metal was designed and ready to have a solar system as an option in the future if needed. The roof overhangs shields most windows from direct sunlight reducing solar heat gain. However, the roof is shallow to allow heat in the winter.

Our clients were interested in natural light and thus the main home corridor has 4 skylight windows. High-efficiency lighting and appliances were installed as well as high efficiency heating and cooling system for energy efficiency. Metal windows with high performance glass & double Payne Low-e windows with low U and SHGC factor also allow for energy efficiency.

The modern style is applied to the landscaping and entry. The square concrete walkway and the integration of the landscaping to the exterior colors make it exquisite.

Green materials were used on the interiors as well such as exposed 100% Concrete stained slab floor.

The elegance of this space was mainly achieved by using grand light fixtures, material and accent wall colors which fit the grandeur of the architecture. Architectural planning may sometimes call for the appropriate design elements that if achieved showcases the interiors and emphasize the design elements of a space at its best. The use of the appropriate light fixtures, materials and colors makes the inside of this project look exclusive. The rod iron of the stairway also matches the area and the general space as a whole.
