I apologize for neglicting both this blog as well as the Gnosh website. I have been wrapped up in another online company and have left this dear site neglected. I apologize.

Gnosh is a good thing and still has a place, I believe, in the search landscape. To that end, I've listed the site and code on eBay.

I had tried using Mashable's marketplace listings last year, and had a little interest, but nothing really materialized.

If you are interested, please bid and give this site a good home.

There's quite a bit going on in Gnosh land, so let's get right to it.

Gnosh was picked as one of the finalists in the Gannon University SBDC/Ben Franklin Big Idea Contest. We presented our business plan and idea to a panel of judges today, and received this award for being named a finalist. Even if we don't get the award, to be picked out of 25 submissions as a finalist is nice. If we ever have an office, this is so going on a prominent shelf.

On November 8, I spoke at the Carnegie Mellon Library Digital LIbrary Colloquium about Gnosh. You can see a couple of details about it here. It was nice to speak with some great people about Gnosh and show them some of the things we're building into an educational version of Gnosh. They had lots of great ideas and feedback.

Finally, we've been adding and cleaning up some of the services inside Gnosh. Today, I'm proud to say we've added SearchVideo.com to the video search area and BBC News to the news area. Both are welcome additions.

Gnosh is a great tool, no doubt, but there's a ton of cool stuff under the hood that makes life nice and easy for us that have to maintain the site - thanks for that go to Peter and Jesse. Take today for example.

I was reading about a new site called Campus Reader that aggregates news stories from college and university newspapers around the USA. That's a great idea, and adding them into the News area inside Gnosh was a piece of cake.

Now, as you are perusing news stories, you'll be able to see stories from around the campuses of the country. Neat!

Gnosh now available in YubNub

If you haven't used YubNub, you should check it out. They dub themselves the social command line for the web, and it allows you to search many different places using a command line-type interface. To search Google, you'd type "g ipod."

I noticed today that they've added Gnosh to their stable of search tools. To search Gnosh from YubNub, use a command like this:

gnosh-it ipod

Don't want to search for an ipod, just replace whatever you're interested in after the gnosh-it command.

We added five new searches to Gnosh today.

First off, we added Wikio.fr to the news section. Wikio is a French news submission site.

Stylehive showcases what's hot in fashion and design. It's in the shopping area.

In the shopping area, we've also added MSN Shopping. We're getting ready to add Google Base as well. We've got it working, but we need to work on the formatting a bit. Hopefully, Peter can work his magic on it soon.

In the audio and podcasts area, we've added Digital Podcast and Podster.de to the searches.

Gnosh is being slow this morning, but rest assured we're working on the problem and we hope it have it straightned out soon.
