Steven Adler Makes Bail, Is Released From Police Custody

According to the web site of The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler was released from police custody at 5:28 p.m. PST today (Friday, July 18) after making bail in connection with his arrest early this morning in Hollywood for possession of narcotics, being under the influence and an outstanding warrant.

Clearly that stint in “Celebrity Rehab” didn’t take. Former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler was arrested for alleged drug possession in Los Angeles around 4 a.m. today after police received a call about a man refusing to leave a home and creating a disturbance.

The 43-year-old Adler, who was reportedly set to star in a spin-off of VH1’s “Celebrity Rehab” called “Sober Living,” after finishing his stint on the just-wrapped second season of “Rehab,” was arrested on suspicion of possessing narcotics and being under the influence, and for an outstanding warrant, according to Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Richard French.

GN'R & The Power Of Video Games To Sell Songs

A decade and a half after releasing its previous album, Guns N’ Roses plans to put out a new song in September — on the video game Rock Band 2. MTV announced on Monday that the sequel to its popular Rock Band game will include “Shackler’s Revenge,” a track from the Guns N’ Roses album that has been in the works for more than a decade, said people familiar with the deal who spoke on condition of anonymity because the arrangement has yet to be announced.

The inclusion of the song on a game suggests that the Guns N’ Roses album “Chinese Democracy” will come out this fall, after years of delays. Axl Rose, who has selected replacements for the other original members, has said that the album is finished, but a release date has not been announced.

MTV and Universal Music Group, Guns N’ Roses label, declined to comment on the deal.

Get ready for "Shackler's Revenge." The track from the upcoming Guns N' Roses album Chinese Democracy will appear on the video game Rock Band 2, slated for release for the Xbox 360 platform in September.

The news was announced Monday morning by Harmonix president and CEO Alex Rigopulos at Microsoft’s press conference at E3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. In addition to "Shackler’s Revenge," Rock Band 2 will feature songs by Bob Dylan, Metallica, Pearl Jam and the Grateful Dead among the 80-plus songs on the playlist.

It's official! After 14 years since Guns N’ Roses last official music release, Axl Rose selects Rock Band 2 to debut official new track “Shackler's Revenge” from the highly-anticipated album Chinese Democracy.

In a press conference today Harmonix and MTV Games announced the tracklist for Rock Band 2.

Richard Fortus reunites with Pale Divine

Guns N' Roses guitarist Richard Fortus will reunite with his old band Pale Divine on December 29th, 2008 at the Pageant in St Louis, MI.

Pale Divine was a local St. Louis band who later changed their name to The Eyes. The four-piece alternative band independently released "Freedom in a Cage", which was produced by David Probst.

The Never-Ending Saga of Chinese Democracy

Two weeks ago, we got the closest thing to an actual release of Chinese Democracy. Nine songs, three of them previously unheard, all mastered, surfaced onto the internet. While Kevin Skwerl and his blog Antiquiet, the source of the leak, gave no details as to the place of their origin, he did claim the songs were in fact the real McCoy - nine tracks from the Guns N' Roses project now nearly 15 years in the making.

There has been lots and lots of speculation this week regarding a new GN'R track that is supposedly going to be part of the downloadable content for the Rock Band 2 videogame.

According to rumours "Shackler's Revenge" is confirmed to be on the long awaited new Guns N' Roses album "Chinese Democracy".

The basic song structure was written by former GN'R guitarist Buckethead and drummer Brain.

antiMusic asked Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal to pick his favorite tracks from his new solo album 'Abnormal' and tell a bit about each one. Because of the Fourth of July holiday, we wrap up the special today with two song stories. Now here is Bumblefoot with today's songs:

"..."The Day After" This is an instrumental song that comes after Redeye. A song that feels like the day after, the earthquake day. The clock doesn't seem to measure time the way you're feeling it. For the song, I recorded the drums at a faster running speed so that when the song is played back at the correct speed, they'd sound slowed down, to enhance the feeling like everything is happening in slow motion. A "Strawberry Fields" kinda thing, or the very end of the first KISS album, the "Black Diamond" fade-out. That shit scared me as a kid.."

Duff McKagan Doesn't Rule Out Guns N' Roses Reunion

According to antiMusic, Metro from 94 WYSP spoke with Duff on Tuesday and got the bonus of Dave from The Presidents Of The United States Of America being on the line as well. Here is a short recap of what they talked about.

During the interview Metro asked Duff about Matt Sorum's comments that a GNR reunion is inevitable. Duff said in part "there is no backroom talks, there never has been.. but anything can happen, you see all these bands getting back together. I guess hell froze over for The Eagles and they did it. But it's not something I count on, or even need in my life."

Today In Guns N' Roses History -1991

On July 2, 1991, in the middle of a Guns N' Roses concert at the Riverport Amphitheater in Maryland Heights, Missouri, just outside of St. Louis during a performance of "Rocket Queen", Axl Rose jumped into the audience and tackled a fan who was recording the show with a video camera. After being pulled out of the audience by members of the crew, Rose said: "Well, thanks to the lame-ass security, I'm going home!", slammed his microphone on the ground and left the stage.

'Welcome To The Jungle' Featured In Movie Trailer

The first movie trailer for the Death Race remake starring Jason Statham has arrived. The last 30 seconds of the preview features Guns N' Roses classic hit 'Welcome To The Jungle'. A tracklist for the upcoming soundtrack has not yet been announced.
