Over three weeks,"Wembley" will become"the temple of football" as the old stadium was known until 2000, when it was closed. On May 28,on the London arena will be played the last act of the Champions League. This will be the first final since the 2007 inauguration of the most expensive football stadium in history. I

n 2000, the legendary "Wembley" was closed to be demolished, and in its place to be build a brand new arena with a capacity of 90,000 seats, all covered. Although the work that began in 2003 should have been completed by May 2006, several problems have delayed the opening until the spring of 2007. A costly investment from all points of view, if we think that only the price of the stadium itself was approximately 900 million euros, making it the most expensive in history. The Australian company which made in large part this project, Multiplex, has been mostly paid from public money, of which 135 million came from the national lottery.
