Don’t get me wrong. Like I said, this is great but every smartphone have almost the same features, nothing new and catchy. The different thing about them is the look and the logo on the front.

For example let us take LG Revolution smartphone that will be launched sometime this year. This NEW device has a 4.3 display with 480×800 pixel resolution, a processor that is capable of 1GHz, 5 Mp camera with auto focus, LED Flash, 1080p HD recording capability, according to the latest rumors. Android 2.2 no doubt, and it is capable LTE on Verizon’s network.

Ok, now let’s take HTC Inspire 4G: like the LG it has a 4.3.inch screen, a 1GHz processor, well, a smaller storage space of 4 GB for this one and only 720 HD video capture. Android is running on this one as well.

Call me crazy for expecting something new in this day and age. It’s like I’m buying the same phone only the name is different and, of course, the price. But I think it is easier to insist with the same product and make a lot of money just because your name is Nokia or HTC or RIM.

It is depressing to see people being fooled by world wide companies, but what can you do, in the end it is their fault for expecting this little.

Great news for those at Microsoft, today they announced the release of the first major Service Pack for Office for Mac 2011. The new update that Service Pack 1 suffered fixes a lot of issues and also now, the security in Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 is improved.
Some fixes include the vulnerability that a virus or attacker can use to overwrite your computer memory with malicious code.

Splash Damage (British developer) has finally revealed the system requirements for their latest multiplayer first person shooter Brink. You can also select a single player campaign, and a story, however you need to train the player for the first multiplayer match, but it doesn’t matter because the visual effects are great, the combat locations are beautiful combined with cities that have broken-down dwellings.

So, what technology you need to have on your PC to make this game along with his visual effect to work proper? Well, it’s not so scary, but if you want the game to “fly” on your computer than for start you will need a Inter i5 processor.

Today Splash Damage announced that Brink is going to be a SteamWorks title. This means that all the copies purchased from stores or digital distributors will operate through Steam client and software (Valve). Some great news is that all the games that are supported by SteamWorks will have an anti-cheat software, friend tracking, achievements and leaderboards.

If you are looking to purchase Brink then you should know that it will be launched in May 10th in the United States and May 13th in Australia and Europe.

So, the applications on test are the Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 (67 pounds), Adobe Photoshop CS5 (658 pounds), Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.3 (238 pounds), Apple iPhoto (free or 9 pounds), Apple Aperture 3.1 (173 pounds)

Let us begin with the first test:

1.Picture management

Photoshop has Adobe Bridge, this has hidden depths, meaning that it can sort photos using keywords or metadata.

iPhoto is fast and simple but it doesn’t offer stacking tools like Photoshop. iPhoto stores your images into an internal filling system.

Photoshop Elements Organizer is new on the market, it can offer you more transparent control, and it works with your existing filing system.

Aperture and Lightroom are better. For example Aperture can’t be beaten when it comes to speed, interface and flexibility

2. Photo editing

iPhoto comes in handy at everyday image fixes and it’s a lot of fun, but that’s it for this application.

Lightroom and Aperture are professional applications and there is no surprise when it comes to their editing tools. Aperture looks great but Lightroom has the new lens correction profile.

Elements works approximately like Photoshop, especially version 9, but still Photoshop is the leader in this test.

3. Ease of use

In this test is harder to choose a winner because all the applications encounter some problems.

iPhoto is the easiest to use but it has some things that could bug you. Despite being the latest version it has some problems with the geotagging /mapping tools.

Photoshop is the technical one while Elements is better: it helps you to much and in the end is a bit confusing.

Aperture and Lightroom are the professional applications and it doesn’t take you too much to learn the basics. Aperture is the flexible one and the Lightroom is faster.

4. Value for money

So we have the most expensive application Photoshop which to be honest it doesn’t do much more than the Elements. Actually, if you think about it, Elements has the Organizer application which is a lot better than Photoshop.

Aperture and Lightroom are also expensive but both have great applications. In my opinion Aperture is the best because is a lot cheaper.

Elements in iPhoto are the cheapest, in fact iPhoto might cost you nothing, but they lack depth.

So if you are looking for an image editor Aperture Lightroom and Elements 9 is the way to go.

Of course, you want to find out who won the test. Well, we were looking for the program that had the best editing tools and the all round combination of photo. So the winner is definitely Elements 9.

If you are looking for the image editor than go out and buy Elements 9. You surely won’t regret it.

Everyone was surprised when Cisco announced the decision to shut down Flip. Why shutting it down?! Why not selling it? This shows the pressure on Chambers to cut down a money-losing company, who also includes Scientific Atlanta and Lynksys routers.

In 2009, Cisco bought Flip for 590 million dollars. This acquisition was made to build a much stronger consumer business. Cisco’s investors were disappointed because of its descent from Internet powerhouse earlier this year. Kim Caughey Forrest, the senior analyst at Fort Pitt Capital declared “I’m really disappointed if this is it. One would hope that there are more changes pending.”

Also, the company had a plan to cut 550 of 73.000 jobs in the third and fourth quarter of fiscal year (2011) to take a pretax charge of 300 million dollars. Chambers wants to restructure Cisco by leaving a memo to his employees explaining the problems. In the memo Chambers said the Cisco had lost its way.

Karen Tillman, the spokeswoman at Cisco didn’t say why the company is killing Flip and not selling it. The analyst at Atlantic Equities Philip Alling said that the reason why Cisco is not selling Flip it’s because there are no buyers: “It’s disappointing they wouldn’t be able to generate any proceeds from a sale of the business.”

NPD (market research firm) said that last year in US Cisco sold 23 percent of all camcorders, and this was excellent because they were ahead of Sony Corp’s and Eastman Kodak (22 percent for Sony and 12 percent for Kodak).

The display will have a 800 x 480 resolution, this is good news, your eyes won’t suffer that much, and also a Intel Atom Z processor does all the hard work on your behalf.

You will benefit from a lot of connectivity options like HDMI to VGA, GPS, Ethernet LAN, 3G, USB. A slideshow keyboard will make text messaging and e-mail replays go smoother. The price for EraPalm from EraThink didn’t came up but as soon as we find it out, we will let you know for sure.

This is certainly a must have device it looks good and it combines games with mobile experience as well.

To settle those of you who have a problem with the iPad virtual keyboard, Logitech offered some help with the Keyboard Case.

Logitech could not be absent from iPad accessories manufactures group, so he throws a new feature in the competition.

Logitech Keyboard Case is made from aluminum used in aeronautics. This incorporates a wireless keyboard and has a high density liner that protects the tablet even if you drop it.

Logitech Keyboard Case for iPad2 will be launched this month in the US and it will coast around 100 dollars. I think it’s safe to say this will improve the iPad 2 and the price seems right as well

MSI is working hard: not so long he unveiled four new laptops F-series to be more precise. These four devices are based on Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors: the FR 720, the FX 720, the FX 620 and the FR 620 (15.6 inch)

Some specs for the F series laptops from MSI are:

Powered by a second generation Intel Core processor, 250, 320, 500 GB hard drive, DDR3 memory, and you can choose form a Blu-ray drive or DVD writer, four speakers with THX TruStudio Pro technology, Bluetooth, 720p- webcam, Gigabit Ethernet, two USB ports, a 4 in 1 card reader, HDMI output, a 6 cell battery.

Also the two models that have 15.6 inch the display resolution will be 1366 x 768 pixels and the other two that have 17.3 inch will feature a 1600 x 900 pixel resolution.

Something important about these four laptops is that the FR720 and FR620 have integrated graphics form Intel.

The FX 720 and FX 620 have a GeForce GT 520M 1 GB graphics card.

Also MSI put Windows 7 Home Premium on all four laptops and this will include the Turbo Battery and power saving technology, and a special function that is called the i-Charge, this will allow you to speed up the device charging via USB.

We don’t know the actual price of any F-series laptop, MSI didn’t announce it yet.

• Browser for Windows 7 / Vista 64

Windows 7 and Vista 64 have 32 and 64 bit version of Internet Explorer (version 8), but many users prefer a more secure product. For example the 32 bit version of Google Chrome, Opera and Firefox will work properly on both operating systems.

Leaving aside the 64 bit Internet Explorer there is another 64 browser available. Firefox is that browser but it is still under development. A version that is as stable as the 32 bit version is 3.6.3. It will import bookmarks and history from Firefox (32 bit).

• Firewall for Windows 7 / Vista 64

You probably know that you should never run two firewall products at the same time. If you choose a product from bellow make sure that you disable Windows Firewall or any firewall that you might have installed first.

If you look for something simple and easy to use go for Windows 7 Firewall Control. It works on Vista to, but be careful the access needs to be defended for every application using the modes: enable, disable all, out only, in only.

You can choose the Comodo Internet Security (CIS) if you are looking for a more complex firewall. At first it may seem that CIS is intrusive but things tend to go up as the program learns about the system.

Deselect the Antivirus option when you install CIS, in case you have a better antivirus. Upgrade your CSI to the latest version, it will increase the stability and the footprint memory will be reduced.

• Antivirus for Windows 7 / Vista 64

If you want an antivirus that scans fast and has great detection rates, than Avira Antivir Personal Edition is the way to go. It doesn’t have e-mail scanning but it compensates by being fast, and this is vital when it comes to threats.

If you have Avira (version 9) you should know that this will protect you against viruses like Trojan, Worm, Rootkits, Dialers, Spyware.

It does have some problems though: many users claimed some problems with the updates.

If you like these features then Avast! Free Antivirus is the way to go. Some features include web, IM, e-mail, P2P, boot time scanning, network shields. Avast doesn’t need many resources.

• Registry cleaner, defragmenter, editor for Windows 7 / Vista 64

Finding a registry cleaner for Windows 7/ Vista 64 free of charge is not an easy task. A lot of people recommended the Wise Registry Cleaner. It works on that part of registry that has 32 bit applications and this is the best we came across.

A Computer is in a constant stream of data adding and removing from registry. This can cause the registry to become fragmented. When this is happening, the software that we came across is Free Registry Defrag.

It is fast, reliable and it is capable of defragmenting and compacting registry from both 32 and 64 bit versions.

If you want a good registry editor we recommend the 64 bit Registrar Registry Manager Lite. This is considered to be a friendlier registry than the one Windows has built-in. Also it has features such as lightning fast search, registry backup, multi-level undo. If you ever need a registry editor Registrar Registry Manager Lite is the one for you.

• System Tools for Windows 7 / Vista 64

Even though Windows 7 and Vista 64 have their own tools for removing files that are not useful anymore or defragmenting the hard drive, there are other alternatives that can perform much better and also can offer new features.
There are not many 64 bit tools for Windows 7 and Vista 64, but the ones that exist are very good.

Due to some rumors, the HTC Pyramid is expected to arrive on April 12th. Also we found out that the name will be changed from Pyramid to HTC Sensation, which is too bad, because Pyramid sounded better and catchy. We found out also that this was discussed by HTC back in January.

Some specs about HTC Sensation (Pyramid): it will pack 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, a 4.3 inch qHD display and Android 2.3. This has the same features like the HTC EVO 3D.

HTC Sensation is expected to make it first appearance next week at HTC’s press event in London, but the handset will arrive in stores early this summer. If you think about it a few months seems like a lot to wait for a handset but HTC Sensation will definitely worth the wait, since it is an amazing piece of technology and this makes it a must have.
