Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana isn't technically new, but it is a new release, and both Lyle and Adam have been playing that with its new-era release. Elsewhere, Mick and Steve have been playing early access survival game ALOFT, but it seems to have quite a gimmick going for it. Lastly on the first episode of 2025, Adam and Mick have been finally playing the first Citizen Sleeper game and... well, they're rather blown away.

Before we get to that, however, we do need to have a look forward to 2025. There are some very big games looming on the horizon, like Death Stranding 2, or even Metroid Prime 4. But as is tradition, before we get to our top ten games of 2024, we do have the small matter of a top five most anticipated of next year, to decide first.

After that though, it's what everyone comes for: the Game of the Year 2024 top ten list. Will there be any shocks, or surprises? People have been beavering away to finish some games they think might be contenders, and personal lists have been tweaked and finalised (hopefully!). Adam has played it at preview, and now for review, and is a big fan. UFO 50 was actually announced back in 2017, and some 7 years later, all 50 games of UFO 50 are here to play, and Adam has been going through them slowly. You see, while these may look like smaller games as part of a collection, he explains that these are pretty much all fully fledged titles in their own right, with some caveats.

Elsewhere, another game that has been long on the "most wanted" list is here, in the form of The Plucky Squire. Can it deliver on more than looks? Does it live up to the expectations and hope of the team, who have all been dying to play it for what seems like forever?

The safe and nice, peril-free world has them utterly compelled to build forever and more. Could this truly be a Satisfactory beater?

Tales of Kenzera: ZAU is also out now, and is yet another Metroidvania to add to the immense pile of them that seem to be coming out in 2024. It's story heavy, but it's still a lovely responsive fun time.

Since we've been away we've been playing so many games, including Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which one of us has finished, the other is halfway through, and the other, despite it being his most wanted game of the year, hasn't even started. In fairness, that's likely because he's been hammering through Unicorn Overlord, while the rest of us just leisurely enjoy our space farming survival game, Lightyear Frontier. Keeping with the feeling of being quite small in a bigger universe, Lyle has also been playing Pikmin 1 and 2 HD, while Adam previewed Pikmin 4, and the demo is also available now as well. Chris Hyde, not to be outdone, has gone BIG by playing Final Fantasy 16, so it'll be interesting to see if his initial impressions of the demo have continued into the full adventure.

Resident Evil 4 Remake isn't out yet, but we've reviewed it and played it, and loved it. While we can't and won't spoil everything ahead of the release date at the end of the month, it's time to have a good chat about how we feel about this new version of a beloved game.

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is out now though, and Adam loved that. Could this series be the future for Bayonetta Have a Nice Death isn't Dead Cells, but it's very similar, but is that a bad thing? Phew, what a chock-full podcast this will be.
