I’m one. One voice, one vote, and one pissed off woman who will persist.
I feel like I’m living in an alternative reality. Am I observing the collapse of civility, honesty, accountability and responsibility by the very people and organizations that I and you are being asked to trust without question?
The media, Congress, Trump, every opportunistic cabinet member of the Trump administration, CEO’s of corporations, banks and oil companies, leaders of fascist and dictatorial countries, SCOTUS's newest appointee, and dumbed down citizens are destroying that which is America.
Since November 8, 2016 we have become a country pretending to be a democracy as we are being governed autocratically. The behavior of the Trump administration and lack of objective, factual media reporting is an embarrassment to journalists who report real news and not the lies fed to them by the administration. I’m sick of them, and have found news programs and journalists that are supported by public dollars and donations, not special interests and I encourage you to do the same.
If you're reading these words, ask yourself what you would do if you or one of your family members were grabbed by ICE or like agencies, thrown in an undisclosed detention center, and deported without a hearing or due process. Would that be okay based on nothing but how you looked, spoke or believed? It is happening to our neighbors and if we don’t speak up for them, who will speak up for us?
President Trump, his children and cohorts are fleecing this country while Russia pulls the strings. Congress and the FBI are not doing enough (if anything) to reveal the truth, no matter where it leads or who is involved. We are living through a season of discontent, suspicion, and incomprehensible greed. The practice of legislative cruelty and massive money grab for the top 1% must be rejected NOW!
Michelle Obama said “when they go low, we go high” Really? I don’t believe any of us would have thought that the current administration could go so low, and I for one refuse to take the high road when it’s being ripped from beneath my feet.
ENOUGH.
I’m asking for your help. Please share this with everyone you know by email or social media. We must wake up to change America, to the ideals we say we hold dear.
VOTE.
Locally, statewide, and nationally - 2017, 2018 and every year until we have elected folks that believe ALL people should be represented, regardless of race, gender, religion or politics.
