Amazing but true -- post to your blog and it doesn't really matter what your subject is except that you must truly be interested in it -- and if you have Google Ad Sense ads on your blog, you will start making money. Not fast money but slow money that will build up over time if you just keep writing and posting.

Say this to yourself in a mirror each morning (it works for me) 'I will post to each of my blogs today and what I post will be worth posting.' Then go have coffee and start your day doing whatever you do each day. At some point in the day you will be drawn to write a post to your blog; a post interesting to you and therefore to others around the world.

If you have to try to make what you write interesting to others then delete it. It will not be interesting to other unless it is interesting to you. 100% guaranteed to work.

There is no way you can have too many blogs and here is why. If you have ten blogs and keep them up to date and alive, then ten blogs is just right for you. If you have three blogs and can't keep even one of them up to date, then three is too many for you.

A good writer has passion and passion is not an emotion all people can access. I don't know why but I suspect it has something to do with the development of imagination and wonder in a person. I thought I had too much passion most of my life; I was in awe of blue skies, butterflies, nightskies. I would gasp at the beauty and mystery of it all. But I was not even in school yet. All my feedback on whether I was a good or bad person came from interactions with my four brothers, mother and father, and grandparents and cousins.

Now all these years later, I realize they just didn't have the same degree of curiosity, wonder, and imagination as I did. I was not bad, but I was certainly different. The thing that many of these family members thought bad, is the very thing I treasure most today: originality and vivid imagination.

Blog as if you were Deer Grazing

This is a scene I see often out my bay windows in the kitchen. There are two deer in this photo and more deer not in the photo plus a fawn.

When I suggest you write your blog as if you were deer grazing in the woods or a meadow, I am suggesting you do write your blog post so that every word is a blade of grass that your readers can take home with them to digest.

It also suggests that you, the writer, be totally absorbed in your writing but that you also be alert to the danger of pretention.

This child will always look down to pray to his or her belief in God, the higher power within all living things. Another child might have to search for God on his or her own; such children always look up. Perhaps the only significant thing to learn from this observation is that both tilt their heads.

From the above observation I can now write a blog entry that is possibly new material about head tilting. Writing requires an active brain and to activate the brain, imagination and intense thought are used.

Obedience before thought

Using energy to form thoughts can be exhausting if not done on a regular basis. Visualizing thoughts clearly and thoroughly, in my experience, requires at least 90 percent of all energy available. It also, for me, requires a pen and paper.

The photo is of an ancient well in France visited by folks needing to reach a higher power. Just looking at the photo tells me it is a place of power.

I could tack a poster of this photo on my wall and use it to help me focus quickly and start using powerful visualization. Why is that so?

Also to consider is that to use a place of power to assist one in obtaining help for whatever use, makes one subseviant to that place. Not sure I want total obedience before true thoughts.

Beware of Vampire Links

I have been studying about SEO (search engine optimization) all day and came across some interesting new SEO developments. From what I gather SEO practices are going to have to rely upon telling their clients that the number one SEO technique is to build a useful and interesting website. That is very good news to a lot of hard working webmasters who have been doing that all along.

Google wants its search engine to pull up quality websites not websites with thousands of links pointing to them even though they are scum sites. So link exchanges with other sites is no longer as crucial as it once was. From what I've learned today, one strong relevant link pointing to your site is worth its weight in gold right now.

Our project car website must be hemorrhaging severely at this time since I have pointed to hundreds of other sites and very few point back to me and they are of less rank than my site. I believe that out linking from my site makes my visitors stay more rewarding so I will keep those live links out to other sites. The common philosophy right now at SEO think tanks is 1) quality site 2) one or two strong relevant links pointing to target site 3) no links pointing away from target site.

I think they are wrong for this reason: On my site I have several live links out per page -- links going to sites that might help my visitor find what they are looking for. Sometimes I can get those sites to back link to my site but I leave the link there either way.

This will be a difficult decision to make. My visitors have always come first on my site -- can I remove all those helpful links just to improve my page rank? I'll have to do some research and see if I can keep the links but stop loosing page rank because of it.

This blog-thing is growing exponetially around the Internet and possibly has already taken on a life of its own. I want to be a part of it. I want to see how I measure up to the best. So I typed in "famous bloggers" in Google and I was directed to Valleywag.com

In this article, Nick Douglas (writes for Blogebrity and has his own vLog Look Shiny), talks about how famous Jeff Jarvis and Nick Denton are yet I've never heard of them until I read that article. But I'm going to share those names with you today because those two guys certainly must know what they are doing to rise to the top of this heap of blogs online right now.

Actually many popular or well-known bloggers got well-known before they became bloggers. If you are not already well-known then grit your teeth and knuckle down to work hard to get traffic to your blog. Got get your traffic, five or ten per day and if your blog is good, they will tell someone else about your blog plus they may even come back to your blog again.

Try hard not to get carried away with dreams of earning big bucks with a couple of blogs -- it probably ain't a-go-na happen.

But do try to dream of expressing yourself freely in new ways with your blog or blogs. Choose a subject you are passionate about and know a lot about or choose a subject that you know nothing about and research the subject as you go.

You will learn more than if you'd gone to college to study the topic and at the same time, you will be creating a wonderful, valuable blog -- then, you might make big bucks on that blog simply because it is so informative.

You've probably heard it many times and each time it is just as true: passionate blogs bring traffic to your site. But you already knew that. You can learn how to make money from home and enjoy doing it. But you have to be passionate about your subject or you'll just sit there at the computer feeling like a failure because no words are coming to mind and you can barely keep your eyes open.

Make money blogging and enjoy doing it. Find out what subject fires you up. But keep in mind also that you want to learn how to make money on the Internet so your subject must also be a subject advertisers want their ads to appear with.

Designing a Blog Site

The title of each post should capture the essence of your blog.
If you use an image on a blog post be sure to use keywords in the ALT text area and always use ALT text. Search engine cannot read an image but they can read the ALT text.
Visit sites similar to your own and learn from what you see there. If you like the way it looks, study it until you know exactly why you like it and then use what you learn on your own site.

Visit all links on sites similar to your own and try to link with them also.

As you and I design our blog sites we will keep these axioms in mind:

Stay focused like a laser beam on your topic.

Write short but informative posts ahead of time so we are never forced to publish crap.

There are so many helpful ways to get your blog noticed now. I used to have to study how to use keywords, even how to find out what my keyword should be and it took a good week of research.

But now I just do everything with Google and I am happy with that. Google gives its AdSense users plenty of statistics and information about their blogs and websites so all problems can be worked out.

The best way to get started Blogging for Money is to register with Google. Google does not know I'm even saying this and I am not getting paid anything to say it. I do believe it is true however. Anyone just starting to learn how to blog for income need only go to Google. Google now owns Blogger, FeedBurner, offers graphs and analytic tools free to users, and has the best training videos I've seen online and again all of it is free.

With the Holidays coming up fast it would be prudent to write up a dozen drafts for each of your blogs ahead of time. Then every other day or so you can publish a draft to keep your blog alive and well while you go about visiting with family and friends during the holiday season taking a well-earned vacation at the same time.

As I have said before, I have eight blogs and two websites and I work about 14 hours a day just on them plus I have to cook meals and keep house, grocery shop, and do all the other things women do.

And I do it all with this handicap: when you work at home family does not see it as work per se and will interrupt you with 'emergencies' often. And I am easily interrupted since my office is in the living room and kitchen. Computer in living room and writing table in kitchen. That is why my favorite hours to work are from midnight to six a.m.

I just had an epiphany on making money with blogs.

I still believe you must be passionate or at least very interested in the topic of your blog, but now I also think you must study popular keywords, current as of each day or even hour, and write something about that keyword.

That is something I'm going to experiment with in this blog. I'll let you know if traffic and thus income, picks up.

For instance, today (Jan 14, 2009) I went back through all my posts and improved each one by giving it a clear concise title, removing keywords and adding only quality keywords, and rewriting the post itself in many cases.

Learn as you go I always say.

Write something at least once a day in each of your blogs so search engines know your blog is happy and alive. One or two paragraphs is sufficient. Stay with one topic also and repeat the main keywords at least seven times.

Blog writing is not for the faint of heart. Blog income is earned, not given out for no reason. I write my blogs only about twice a week, which is decent, but writing in a blog daily is best. I'm not working myself hard enough although I am working online nearly 14 hours a day now.

I sleep when I can no longer remain awake and then I sleep until I wake up naturally. I sleep daytime best and love working from midnight to six in the morning. No one interrupts me. I can concentrate and do so much more than during the daytime hours when phones ring, people talk to me, cooking has to be done.

Am I an addict. No, but I am desperate enough to feel my whole mission is to make a go of making money online to save us during the coming few years when no other jobs will be available.

My wish list now includes wanting a laptop and a blackberry so I can work anywhere.

Blogs are Golden Eggs

Laid another golden egg today. I was able to work on all six blogs. Blog creation is a full time job that does not pay much in the beginning. It will be some time before this all pays off good, probably a year. But after that I will have a steady income.

I know this because I can study my own blog income growth and see it stay on a plateau for awhile and then go up, then plateau, the move up again. It starts out in pennies, then quarters, then dollars, then significant dollars.

Persistance is the only way it can get done. Blog posting daily is not an option, it is essential if you want to rise above the millions of blogs out there today. Blog income is a full time (over time) job. There is no software, no magic pill, no easy way to make a success of making money online.

Internet Income Babies

As long as I write in my blogs and websites daily (not an easy task), I've noticed my income from the blogs doubling each month. Even though the total income is only $300 a month now, I can see the daily totals indicating that it will be $500 in a few months.

Writing a blog is the easy part of the online income from blogs. Affiliate codes have to decided upon and then added, again not that hard really but time consuming. Then there is going out to get your traffic by joining forums, skating along on blogs and making comments when allowed, and anything else you can do to get your link known.

It's simular to raising a child. When he or she is a newborn, we must do everything for the baby to help it thrive but as it grows older, the child can do some things for him/herself. Blogs are like that to.

Blog Income for Retirement

A website with descent traffic earns an easy $300 a month, so eight sites can earn an easy $2400 a month. Traffic is the key. Blog income, for me, is an ideal way to earn a living. I love to write, need to write, and for twenty years all my writing just sat in notebooks in drawers and boxes and then during one grand mistake, I threw them away.

I've always regretted that.

Anyway, I have no retirement income since I was always a homemaker and/or self-employed. Blog income will be my retirement.

It will be interesting as we go through this Great Depression II to see how the Internet Factor will influence who comes out the other end smelling like a rose.

My blogs must be about things I am passionate about. I have not been passionate about my blog about writing blogs but am now. I must earn a living, a living that I can continue to do in my older years and since writing is my main arena of communication, maintaining blogs is the answer.

To date I have set up and designed six blogs and two websites. If you're in the dark about blogs or don't feel passionate about what your blog is about, delete it. That's what I'm going to do with one of my blogs. Delete it.

I don't look forward to writing on it. I find the subject matter too demanding and not on a topic I can get passionate about so I'm deleting it. I need blogs about topics that bring in visitors and good ads while simultaneously firing me up inside when I write on it.

The supernatural fires me up. Mystery fires me up. Self Discovery really fires me up. Observations of animals fires me up.

Blogging Full Time

I have six blogs active and two websites active. It has taken several years to get one of the websites up to over 200,000 visits per month. All of my blogs are what I would call fairly new, about six months old. The other website is over ten years old but the subject is so specialized (Ozark history), traffic will likely never get high.

One thing I do like about all eight sites is that I enjoy writing about each of the subjects. This blog is about something I am not an expert on yet. Blogs and the possiblities they present is a growing phenomenon. The plus for me is that I am a writer so writing in a blog daily comes naturally to me.

If you are not a prolific writer, creating blogs and maintaining them would be difficult. But if you have the gift of gab, translate that quality into typing the words instead of saying them, and suddenly you're a writer. It's that easy. Or you can talk and let someone else type what you say into your blog. Or get the software that types while you talk and use that.

Make Money Online

Making money online with blogs takes time and energy. Look back through my blog posts and notice that this blog started out with a different theme and slowly but surely I narrowed it down to one simple thing: making money on blogs.

PPCs is just one way to make money and to really earn an big money, you'll need to nurture and build up at least ten blogs. Plus you have to get traffic to your blog up high and that is done by getting folks to link to your blog. Therefore, your blog must be interesting and informative.

Earning money with blogs is possible. I have about ten blogs and websites combined. I can link each one to the other which is legal to do. But I also need to link to related websites and blogs as well. That is what takes time.

If you are reading this you are likely a blogger and you know your way around the Web and you might even have your own blog. You might be surprised to learn that you are in the minority. Up until a month ago, I was under the impression that only dirt poor people or people with only dial-up access or people on the slow side did not access the Web to the full potential. I was wrong.

I know for a fact that very intelligent (but over 50) people and people with easy fast access to the Internet only come here to visit. They do not tap into the income potential of the Internet and do not think it is worth doing.

This is a good thing, surprising, but good for those of us who do understand the income potential and want to pursue it. It is good because it means the pie is not cut into a hundred pieces, it is cut into ten pieces. We get a bigger piece of the pie.

I actually know very little about the art of bringing in Internet income at this time. I have a couple of websites VintageOzarks.com and CountryFolkMag.com. Only one of these sites earns income with click ads. This is because I have only had highspeed access for three months. Before that I was dial-up.

I will be building up the Country Folk Magazine site over the next few weeks intensely and over the years continually.

Best Blogger vs. Popular Blogger

Bloggers are creative folks who must deal with several personality energy fields, whereas all other writers (who have problems and benefits of their own) do not have to deal with dual energies. So many writers are now bloggers that I think it is relevant to mention this here.

When a blogger's energy is in the full stage, they can write many posts and store them for use later when their energy is in the empty stage. When empty, they set up a schedule to publish previously written posts every other day until the body's full stage returns.

A popular blogger was popular before blogging. A good blogger works his or her way up from scratch and can out do many popular bloggers. Be persistant. Learn new technologies continuously. Post daily.

Must Find Blog Focus

This particular blog started out as How to Publish Small Books and ended up being a blog about writing blogs for profit. I am keeping the older post entries because I think it's important to see how I stumbled at first, rested awhile, and then suddenly found the real niche I want for this blog.

My previous blog title "How to Publish Small Books at Home and Make a Profit" did not excite me. I don't think I was energized with it because that type of publishing is going out and the new way "Blogs and Websites" is coming in. This is the era where we are transitioning from the horse to the motorcar. I was raised on the horse and didn't like the motorcar for years but finally did make the transition and now I can't live without it.

Writing Blogs for Money

Welcome to my kitchen which is my writing studio. You are looking in the kitchen through a window on the screen porch. I spend each morning sitting at the table looking out at the woods and bird feeders and wildlife with only one or maybe two cars going up the gravel road to disturb my thinking.

I am a writer and editor but not a very good one unless I get fired up and so far I am not fired up because I can't feel my audience -- no, I am not fired up because I have not decided who my audience is.

I want my audience to be . . . . good question. Who do I want this blog to be of interest to? Not a question I should even ask. I need to narrow things down and focus on one thing -- writing little books that can be published in home and sold online or in grocery stores in my larger neighborhoods. I need to focus on this because this is what I intend to do.

To keep expenses and prices down, format must be half-size (8.5x14 paper folded in half, stapled in center with a cover stock cover). Subject: whatever subject is of great interest to me at this time -- what am I most interested in at this time? chickens. Must have a burning desire to research and write about my topic. I dearly love our chickens and can easily write a humor story or how-to or children's book with chickens as the topic.

Each Little Book will have 36 or 40 or 44 pages and an attractive but inexpensive, home-published cover. Each Little Book can easily sell for $4.50 (estimated selling price) with the store getting 20% of the asking price. After my expenses (legal-size white paper, toner, labor, postage), I'll make $2 profit on the sale of each Little Book. Cookbooks can sell for twice what a children's book can sell for, and local history books (very local) can sell for $5.

I am still too fuzzy in my focus to draw in a readership and I know it. But the process itself should help someone someday if they ever happen upon this blog.
