Sometimes it's good to be pessimistic, a bit of reverse psychology to make the team prove you wrong is one way some Gooners cope.

As the new season is now upon us though the negativity from pundits, commentators & the papers will be even more apparent (just when you was thinking it couldn't get any worse).

Well I was thinking let's make a negative 'Arsenal Drinking Game' with some of the negative things that happen during Arsenal games & some of the negative stuff the pundits and commentators come out with.

Take one sip when:

A pundit/commentator/presenter mentions Arsenal's 6 years without a trophy

A pundit/commentator/presenter mentions Cesc Fabregas & Barcelona in the same sentence

A pundit/commentator/presenter mentions Samir Nasri & Manchester City in the same sentence

A pundit/commentator/presenter mentions Arsenal will finish 6th/drop out of the top 4

A pundit/commentator/presenter mentions that "Arsenal need a good English" something or or other"

Down in one when/if:

Squillaci comes on after half time and ruins everything (doesn't have to be directly at fault here, just on the pitch).

We lose a lead

Arsene says "I believed we had enough quality" in the post match interview

Arsene abuses a bottle

All good fun, I will devise a positive one next week hopefully. Any ideas, pop them in the comments box or hit me up on Twitter @Mitch1984.

Peace everyone, may we have a great season.

Regards

Mitchell Edwards

The Importance Of Signing These 3 Key Targets

Written By - Mervyn Onyekuru

One of the most exciting moments of the summer that fans turn to after the champions league final is who their team is looking to add to the squad so as to strengthen the team. Fans start to read newspapers, magazines, articles, they also surf the net, checking the club’s site and online articles. I personally check “Arsenal latest news” at least three times a day just to know what my club is up to in signing players, sometimes I wish we could get all the players we are being linked with but we know that is not going to happen. The fact is not just getting these players but also knowing the department of your team that needs to be strengthened.
Everybody knows that the defensive part of Arsenal is weak and that has been a song that has and is still being remixed because Arsenal has not replied that song yet. One of the secrets of having an awesome defence is not just by buying SUPPOSED good defenders but having a worthy experienced person to pair with, which is why Vidic, Pique, Terry, Pepe and a host of others are good because they were or are being paired with Ferdinand, Puyol, Ferdinand & Carvalho and Cannavaro respectively. If Arsenal is to sign Christopher Samba, and I hope they will, I see Arsenal getting ready to end their defensive criticism. DID YOU NOTICE THAT ALMOST ALL THOSE PLAYERS MENTIONED ABOVE HAVE POSSESSED THE CAPTAINCY BAND AT SOME POINT?
Well for the midfield Arsenal has a lot of options and some of the wingers can even fill in the centre of midfield. I have read an article, saying Ricardo Alvarez is a bad signing, as he is just another winger which we already have in bulk. I totally disagree; I believe that if Kaka can play centre midfield or attacking midfield then Ricardo Alvarez can do the same because he is the “Left-footed Kaka”. Of course if Fabregas should stay, which I know is highly unlikely and I can’t blame him for that then there is no need for Ricardo Alvarez but if Fabregas leaves then I believe Alvarez will be a good replacement.
In the attacking department I think we should give that department great credit, we might not have Rooney, Drogba, Torres, Villa, Higuain, etc but Arsenal have managed to be among one of the highest goal scoring team in world. Van Persie, Nasri and Walcott have done really great things for the club in the 2010/2011 season and I congratulate them for that, not forgetting Arshavin, Chamakh and Nikky but imagine how it would have been if Arsenal had RADAMEL FALCAO. Falcao appeared in 22 league games and scored 16 goals and I am talking just about the Portuguese league. He was the second highest goal scorer behind the “incredible” Hulk. Falcao has a little pace like Walcott, a little dribbling like Nasri, a little heading accuracy like Bendtner & Chamakh, shot like Arshavin and sharpness like Van Persie. Even if we are to keep on using Van Persie which I am OK with, what will happen when he goes to Netherlands and collides with Lucio in a friendly, he might come back with an injury and that might be another turning point in the club’s season.
In my second paragraph, I did not say that Fabregas is not a good captain but the club will be better off with a captain that leads not only by example but by being very vocal just as John Terry is. I hardly see Fabregas shout out to the players. If he leaves and the captain armband is given to Van Persie, I will be a little ok with that, but I prefer the armband with Vermalean or if signed, Samba. Wenger should try this for a couple of games and see what the defence will be like in those games.
I've never blogged before but I have been told I "articulate well" so I hope I do well. Be nice...

Before I get into the nitty gritty, I thought I should introduce myself: My name is Mitchell Edwards and I have been a Gooner since 1995, I'm pretty active on Twitter where I discovered @GoonerSOnline and many more brilliant fans of the club that I love. My passion for things can be mistaken sometimes but I like to think that I'm not bigoted as I can definitely have my mind changed in discussion. You can follow me if you wish @Mitch1984.

It is coming to the end of the season and naturally there are things on my mind of how the team can improve, how we could of been top by now, how we can win things...

While it's not nice to criticise individual players, I cannot help notice players who have been below par for too long and could do with replacing. To some of you that may sound harsh and that's the reaction I am going to write about in this post.

When I read individual's criticism of the Arsenal squad, many different players are criticised, some criticism I can align my views with, some I cannot. Just the other day I heard someone say we should sell Djourou. I think apart from the Bolton game Djourou has been awesome, a real rock this season and think our defence would've have been super special if Vermaelen played alongside him the whole season. He's not someone I'd sell, and even if we bought Chris Samba or Cahill or whoever in the summer and Djourou ended up on the bench, he would be a player we wouldn't have to worry about being a liability if we had to call upon him. That's the carefreeness I wish to have when calling upon the bench when players get injured.

On the other hand Nicklas Bendtner for example; a player who has confirmed very recently that he will not be leaving Arsenal this summer, is someone I think we should replace.

With Bendtner, I think regardless of whether he starts a game or comes on as a sub, also taking into account the times he is played out of position; he is just not the goal machine Robin van Persie is for someone who is supposed to be a centre forward. I appreciate that Bendtner is not a first teamer and also how a new world class goal machine in his place could get unsettled being on the bench and end up wanting to leave. I however don't think we have enough quality on the bench and I would love that to change.

We need to bolster our bench because we're a team that needs to be able to rotate with ease. We need to bolster our bench also because we regularly suffer from many injuries. I believe we need a bench we can rely on, that we are not cutthroat enough when it comes to replacing dead weight.

Manchester United for example aren't hurt in the slightest by having one striker out of either Rooney, Hernandez & Berbatov injured or banned, Man Utd are able rotate in premier league games and still win.

We rotate in a cup game and end up playing a replay. I knew we could get a result with the lineups we put on against Chelsea and at home to Barcelona but truth is, when we rotate and play Ipswich and Leeds, I'm no where near as optimistic. We need to be more cutthroat and say good isn't good enough, we rely on using substitutes to rotate and to cover injured players a lot and because of this our bench should be top notch too.

Take Chelsea for example, although I admire our attitude and philosophy and I wouldn't want us to change into Chelsea, Chelsea got rid of Ballack and Joe Cole last season and while many football fans were shocked that 'quality' players were let go, I wasn't, I could see last season Ballack was given many chances and regularly under performed on the pitch.

We definitely shouldn't do the opposite and boo our players but are we getting too attached to anyone that dons an Arsenal shirt? Do management lack what is needed to make the changes needed?

I would like to add that I am happy with the contribution Bendtner has been making from the right wing as opposed to his preferred centre forward role, I think as a tactical substitute to Theo Walcott he's been great, with some nice crosses and assists, I wouldn't mind him staying if he is happy with that role. What do you think?

Let's also talk about Chamakh, the guy made a great start, he really excelled knowing that he was first choice while Robin van Persie was injured. He played many games and needed a rest unfortunately for him at the time when Robin van Persie came back, who after a slow start showed a return to outstanding form, scoring goal after goal. As we know Chamakh doesn't start many games at all lately and has maybe been under too much pressure to deliver the goods and leave an impression when coming on as a substitute. Maybe I am being a hypocrite here as I would mostly want Chamakh to stay at Arsenal, but I think that is down to me being attached to him due to the goals he scored at the start of the season. It's more difficult for me to say we should sell him than it is for me to say we should sell Bendtner.

I don't want Arsene Wenger to go, definitely not, I know we don't have unlimited money I just want him to replace some of the dead weight, we are so close ladies and gentleman.

The Small Things That Won’t Go Away

Welcome Gooners,

The problems are only getting bigger.

So our hopes of winning the league and finally ending our trophy drought have been dashed, and the team are performing like a bunch of kids. Oh wait they are kids.

People have been calling for AW’s head, and I think that those people need to seriously think what they are saying. Even Walcott said it, you have got to look at the players performances, because of late they have been poor. I attended the Bolton game, and was quite disappointed by what I saw at the end of the game. No appreciation from the players, apart from Cesc Fabregas who came over and let his appreciation known.

But why have we once again thrown away such a good chance of winning the league?

I can tell you why, because of the same small things that won’t go away and continue to haunt us.

Poor Defence Record On Set Pieces.

No-one taking charge in the team, leaving everyone doing the same job leaving players free on set pieces.

Continuous injuries to key players.

Lack of experience and strength in the squad

Finally, the mental strength of a young child who’s lost their parents.

And you know what, these small problems, are returning so frequently, that they are becoming very Big problems indeed.

"We have the quality, that is for sure. We have to strengthen the squad where it needs and make the right decision on that front. It is always in my mind every day.

"The team have had an outstanding attitude and will not be rewarded because of small things, but small things cost you.

"It is frustrating because the team has produced the efforts.

"We have to be realistic that it is very unlikely now, but we have to finish as well as we can."

So will Wenger learn from these constant problems? Or will he let them pass him by. I expect he will finally look at the issues and seriously look at how he can go about solving them. Any suggestions?

My minds set on one player in particular, Gary Cahill, please sign him!

Lets end this season 2nd GoonerS, share your thoughts below.

Technorati Tags: Arsenal,Premier League,Wenger,Cahill,Problems,Gooners,Gunners

Pat Rice’s Future And Another Great Night Of Football!

Morning Gooners,

What a lovely day it is today. Hopefully the day will continue to get better with a win tonight in the North London Derby. But lets put the game on hold for later in the today;s post.

The main subject of today’s post, is the ever loyal Pat Rice.

Is two of the same healthy for the club?
As you will already know, Pat’s contract runs out at the end of the year, and he is yet to renew his contract – that is if he’s been offered one. But my theory is, if Pat Rice was to leave, would it be such a bad thing? Obviously it would be a sad day, the end of Pat Rice, as he has been involved in the club all his life apart from his 4 year spell at Watford, but even after he decided to end his playing career, he re-joined Arsenal within months of retiring as the youth coach.

So how could Pat leaving have a positive effect on the Arsenal?

Well in my opinion, we need a change in the club. We need someone that doesn’t think in the exact same way as Arsene, and someone not afraid of telling Wenger, what’s going wrong.

So who do I suggest to replace Pat Rice if he is to leave?

Well I guess it would have to be someone younger and open minded.
Dragan Stojkovic maybe?

Well that’s my theory, how about yours?

Now onto tonight’s football.

Tonight is one hell of a night for football lovers, with the Arsenal taking on Sp*rs in the NLD and Barcelona taking on Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey Final. Blimey!

But my eyes will only be on one game tonight…Arsenal’s.

Going into the match, both clubs know a win keeps their target within reach, and anything less, brings it to a disappointing end. So if we are to win the league this year and prove the doubters wrong – which included me in certain parts of the season, we must, MUST win tonight!

Team News -
Arsenal – I can already hear the joyful cheers as Arsenal fans lucky enough to go the the match tonight hear Bacary Sagna’s name read out as he has returned to full fitness from his knee injury. Also Almunia, Denilson and Rosicky have all passed fit. Thomas Vermaelen, continues to work his way back to full fitness.

Sp*rs – Pienaar and Kranjcar return whilst Alan Hutton and Palacios remain unavailable.

Possible Starting Line Ups-

ARSENAL:Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Djourou, Clichy, Song, Wilshere, Fabregas, Walcott, Nasri, Van Persie

Sp*rs: Gomes, Corluka, Dawson, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Modric, Sandro, Bale, Van der Vaart, Crouch.

Tonight will show if we have the mental strength to win title!

Ok, so tonight should be a great game, both clubs looking for all 3 points. Let’s beat the Sp*rs, and I don’t care how we do it. Come On You GoonerS! Predictions for tonight? Thoughts on the post? Confidence back up, began to knock it round like an Arsenal team rather than a Blackburn side. Were Back?

Tomorrow’s game is going to be tough, and truth be told, I think we will lose today, and it will be to the better side.

The Build Up -
So why exactly do I believe we will lose today, against a Liverpool side that are sitting 4 places below us in the league?

Andy Carroll – This guy has had some stick after his silly money move, but were unable to deal with him, he is too physical and tall for our spineless defence.

Luis Suarez – Now this guy has had nothing but praise since his move in January, and what a signing it was! I would of loved Arsenal to of signed this lad – not a chance. His trickery and pace will turn our defence inside out, and I wouldn’t be too shocked with a sending off today.

It’s not sounding good…

But…

If we manage to deal with these two, we can definitely win the game, as long as we use our flair, our vision and our class. Which have all been missing in recent weeks.

The Good News

There is always good news, and for us, it’s the return of Theo Walcott, who I believe has had a great season when fit, and we have missed him. His pace gives us a different way of playing, and his movement is just what Cesc and Nasri love.

The good news also continues into the team news…

Team News

Wojciech Szczesny is likely to return in goal, whilst Djourou and Song have both passed their fitness test. Bacary Sagna is a doubt (knee), Almunia is still out (knee) and Sagna also with a knee injury.

Also, Wenger has confirmed that Thomas Vermaelen will play again this season.

And…

If you haven’t already seen the expected kits for next year, you can see the pictures over at http://www.arsenalinsider.com/ who done it again!

The home shirt, is a cheap one day job, whilst the away kit is an utter disgrace, Nike are a joke and as for the crest, they have oversized it whereas the return of the cannon would of been much tidier.

Have a good day GoonerS, share your thoughts in the comments,

Cheers.

Put Your Self In Wenger’s Shoes

This post is a bit of fun, and it’s trying to prove a point that what Wenger does for Arsenal isn’t as easy as every Gooner may think.

First off, pick a list of players you would offload -
My list -

Almunia
Fabianski

Clichy
Squillaci

Diaby
Rosicky
Denilson
Arshavin
Eboue

Mannone
Eastmond
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas

Crikey! 12 players I would like to see leave the Arsenal.

Now create a list of players you would like to see join the Arsenal – Try and keep it sensible.

Stekelenburg ---> Almunia

Criscito ---> Clichy
Vertonghen ---> Squillaci

Javi Martinez ---> Diaby
Hamsik ---> Rosicky
Hernanes ---> Denilson
Sanit Carzola/Alexis Sanchez/Eden Hazard ---> Arshavin
Azpilicueta ---> Eboue
Thiago Alcantara ---> Nice addition to the team.

After you have finished with that, go on to saying who would replace who. See above^

Now finish off by looking at your list and thinking of which players would actually be available for a suitable price, and Arsenal could afford their wages.

This is something Wenger has to put up with, and the signing of one player, can take up a whole transfer window, so to complete the signings of each player on my list, and sell the others, would take a long time, which is why Wenger doesn’t criticise his players, because he knows he could still have them for another 6 months.

If you take part, share your list in the comments below.
Cheers Gooners – let’s hope we can push on to win this league, and prove our doubters wrong, In Arsene We Trust!

Let’s Get Ready To RUMBLE!

Are you ready to rumble? I sure am, we have waited a long time for this, and now it’s our time.

There has been a lot said about the Carling Cup. We’ve been told it’s the ‘Mickey mouse cup’, and the ‘worthless cup’, but whatever name you give it, it will always be a cup, and who doesn’t want to win a cup? Like Wilshere said, you would much prefer to be playing in the cup final at Wembley, than sat at home watching it – wouldn’t you?

Getting to the final, has proven that our second string team is one of the best, which can’t be said for the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea.

Well, the atmosphere should be great in and around Wembley, and the songs will be out! The stadium shouldn’t be a problem for our players, and if it is, were in trouble for when we go to Barca.

This game will be key for our season. And it could go two ways. If we win, then it won’t have too much of an effect, our confidence will rise, which is always a good thing, but also that 6 year wait will be over, and the pressure will be lightened. But if we lose, our season could be in real danger of self destructing, as our players confidence will be very low and the whole club will be at a low.

The game should be a good one, with both clubs hoping to play in their own style and we need to play the way we do best, keeping possession, changing the pace of the game, and piercing the defence with pin-point passes. It should be good!

The Opposition
We have never been the best of friends with Birmingham, especially after Eduardo’s horrific injury. We are on good form at the moment, and we have beaten Birmingham twice already this season, so we are in good nick.

Team News
We are without Walcott and Fabregas for the game, which is a huge disappointment, as Cesc as only ever dreamed of lifting a trophy with Arsenal. As for Walcott, this season has been his best yet, and not being able to get involved in a cup final, will be a heartbreaker, and you could see this pain in his face against Stoke. Everyone else is fit and available apart from the long term absentees.

As for Birmingham, they are without Scott Dann as well as Bentley and Davies who are both cup-tied for the match.

Possible Starting Line-Ups

Birmingham: Foster, Carr, Johnson, Jiranek, Ridgewell, Larsson, Ferguson, Gardner, Bowyer, Zigic, Martins.

Quick Stat - Opta stat: Birmingham have scored the highest proportion of goals from set pieces in the Premier League (56%) while Arsenal have conceded the most (52%). [taken from SkySports]

Pre-Match Interviews -

Wenger -

“To win this trophy would give us a lift,” said the Frenchman at his press conference on Friday.

“There is a weight on the team at the moment. We have to deliver trophies because we have not won any.

“I’m not the only one for whom that is important. There’s the players’ feelings too. They say: ‘Ok, we want to win a trophy to show you we can win one’. And I believe to win would give us a lift for the rest of the season.

“We have a good bond, a good confidence level and are highly determined to do well on all fronts. What will be vital for our success is that we focus well on the next game and give it the biggest importance. That’s the final game in the Carling Cup and will give everything to be successful.

“We are on a very strong run now. If you look at the start of the season, we are well above the predictions of the specialists.

“What is important is not what happened in the last six years but what we can do from now on.”

Sagna -

"We were [scared], but we are not any more. We have grown up as a team, we are wiser and now in the final. It has taken time, but we are on a good way to being successful.” said the right back.

"We have been close to winning something but we got scared, we stopped playing and were waiting for the result to happen.

"I hope Sunday will be a good way to show people we can win, and go on to even more, to show we are very hungry."

Djourou -

"It was a nightmare, for a footballer for anyone that loves what they're doing, to be unable to do the thing you love is just a handicap," he said ahead of the Carling Cup final against Birmingham.

"For me it was really bad and I had to fight really hard to come back.

"I took a break sometimes because when you're watching games you just think 'I wish I was playing' and it's not really good for your head.

"You always have doubt when you are out injured, you are always thinking 'am I going to come back to my best' because you never know, some players come back injured and they are never the same.

"You are questioning yourself, but the club has been very good with me they took their time and I think today it is paying so I am very happy with all the hard work we have done together."

Djourou said: "Critics are part of our game, but for me it was an opportunity to come back stronger and just to show what I could do.

"It is a good thing that it is working well at the moment.

"People are saying the defence is the weak link, but if you look at the record of the last few games in the Premier League we haven't conceded too many goals - in a game like against Stoke where we haven't played maybe as well as we do, we won the game 1-0 so there is a lot of character there."

"The team really has a lot of character and a lot of hunger as well because it is like we achieve things which people were questioning us before, the team is really realising what our potential is," he said.

"To the players it would mean a lot because obviously it is going to be the first time for some to become winners and I think that it's going to be a good thing for our mentality.

"People are questioning us, saying we haven't won a trophy for a long time - but to become winners we will become more confident and show that we can achieve a lot of things."

So, the game is a few hours away, kick off is 16:00 and you can watch the match on BBC 1 from 15:00 (commentary from Guy Mowbray and Mark Lawrenson). Or live on SkySports 1 from 15:30 following on from the West Ham – Liverpool match. Worrying.

Anyway, I will try to keep updated, but this blog isn’t about news, but thoughts and views.

For the past 2 months, Arsenal have been quite topsy turvy, beating Birmingham, then drawing too Leeds, losing to Ipswich, then we got back on form by beating West Ham, Leeds, Wigan and Ipswich, but then hit another snag, when we just about crept through the game against Huddersfield. We then went on too a tougher opposition of Everton, which we managed to overcome, but then we went on too giving away a 4 goal lead vs Newcastle, which embarrassingly entered the record books. After the Newcastle match, we came back well, beating Wolves, and then Barcelona.

We beat Barcelona. The team that broke our dreams of winning the Champo League, so I enjoyed that win very much, but the best bit was, we beat them as a team, with a great comeback – and Arshavin scored!

But…We couldn’t keep the streak going, as we gave away a 90th minute goal away to Leyton Orient. We face Stoke tonight, which could be challenging but I believe we can get the 3 points.

Plus… we were drawn with Man Utd in the FA Cup, the joys, well if we beat Leyton Orient, and lower league teams have made us work hard, and we’ve struggled. I wouldn’t be surprised if Hard Man Pulis has taken a note of how each lower league club has kept us out.

But what would you think is the main reason for our topsy turvy season?

Cesc Fabregas - A Worthy Captain?

As I hope you know already, this blog isn’t about my thoughts, but yours. It’s about you getting your thoughts heard on key subjects. And this is another one of those key subjects. So I would love to hear from you in the comments, cheers.

Anyway,
I have a bit of catching up to do.

Firstly, on the Andy Carroll transfer, I believe it’s a complete joke the money spent on him. Silly.

Torres, not good news for us GoonerS, but they wont win the PL, and most of Chelsea’s team will retire at the end of the season.

And… the Huddersfield game, we lacked passion and skill. And almost had to pay the price. We got Leyton Orient in the next round, which we will once again see as a straightforward game and Cesc will have to come on again and bang in a penalty.

Now lets get onto the main post.

Is Cesc Fabregas A Worthy Captain?

Now, personally, I believe he is certainly a worthy captain, especially this season.

Cesc’s first season as captain, he seemed quiet and didn’t get the lads together, playing as a team. But maybe this was because Gallas was still in the frame. This season, Gallas has gone, and the team looks happier. Plus they look more of a family. Has this been Cesc’s doing, maybe, but one thing I am certain on, is that Fabregas wants to win something more than ever, and it’s showing, he is working harder every game and it’s fantastic to see.

And when your captain is playing well and working hard it rubs off on the team. He has matured and the best moment I remember of Cesc’s captaincy is when he got all the lads together in a circle and spoke to them, calmed them down and we went on to win the game. Remember?

The game was vs Stoke, when Aaron Ramsey suffered a broken leg.

I hope to see Cesc holding the PL trophy with the red and white ribbons at the end of the season, and we have a very good chance.

What are your thoughts on todays post?

Arsenal Linked With 2 SHOCK Deals

Afternoon all, today, the deal between Sunderland and Aston Villa for Darren Bent has been finalised, and what a shock eh? 24m, wouldn’t pay that.

But onto Arsenal.

Today we have been linked with 2 players that could hopefully end our centre half crisis. Firstly, the Biggest Shock Richard Dunne. The Daily Mail have released an article saying that we have supposedly made an enquiry for the Irishman. If I am completely honest, Wenger, stay away from Dunne. He is hopeless, fat and a complete donkey. Ask any Aston Villa fan, they will agree with me.

The other player we have been linked with, is Frenchman Michael Ciani, who plays for French club FC Bordeaux. Arsenal scouts have been reportedly spotted at Bordeaux’s game last week against Marseille. Bordeaux lost the game, so they wouldn’t of been too impressed.

We were linked with Ciani last summer, after a great season with Bordeaux. Ciani earned his first cap for the French national team, under coach Raymond Domenech for a game against Spain. This is his only cap to date. At least he is 6ft 2in.

So…..News isn’t to interesting today, just a few rumours. But hopefully we will snap up a new experienced centre half soon. But who will it be?

Cheers GoonerS

Could Vermaelen’s Injury Be A Good Thing?

Afternoon all,

I can’t wait for the game tomorrow, it should be an easy win for us, seeing as Chelsea knocked seven past them. But, we know that Arsenal let themselves down in games like these, just look at the Leeds game.

Now onto Vermaelen. The news today, is that he has suffered a further set back on Saturday. It doesn’t seem to be a small set back, as Wenger was unable to give any info on his date in which he is expected to return. I worry it could be a setback which will end his season. Sebastien Squillaci has also picked up a hamstring injury which will rule him out of action from 2-3 weeks. Well you might call me stupid, but I am quite pleased that Squillaci has picked up an injury, as I believe he is one of Wenger’s desperate signings, without full thought and sensibility. He is old, slow and could make Heskey look like the new Chamakh.

But here is my question…

Could Vermaelen’s Injury Be A Good Thing?
I know I’m crazy. But seriously, with Vermaelen’s injury, it has forced Wenger to go out and find a new centre half, which is what we have all being wishing for. What do you think?

So Wenger has confirmed he is in the market, but who will he sign?

The candidates -

Emir Spahic – Out of them all, he is my least favourite, as he is old and without any ‘big’ club experience. And we need someone that can fit right in, with PL experience.

Gary Cahill – He is a young, experienced centre half. English. And playing at a club with surprisingly big debts. Also, he is 6ft 2in, and not afraid of a challenge. My choice

Per Mertesacker – He is tall, but not too quick. He is also not too steady on his feet, I could see a few silly tackles by Per.

Sol Campbell – Can’t see it happening, but if it did, I would be frustrated, as I would prefer someone that will be offered a proper contract.

Well I’m sure there are much more players linked with The Arsenal, but there’s a few. Who would you like to see join Arsenal this January? Am I a complete fool? Maybe…

Arsenal set to join either Birmingham or West Ham in the league cup final?

This could certainly be our season, Vela set for Bolton? Who would you allow to leave in January?

Looking at the table, you see Arsenal sitting two points behind league leader United, and a game in-front. The key bit, is the amount of games we have lost compared to United’s. We have lost 5 whereas United are yet to be beaten. The most disappointing part, is the clubs we have lost against. We have lost against;

West Brom – In this game, we deserved to lose, under-estimating our opponent, and paying the price. Just imagine if we had won it.

Chelsea – We had no confidence, they did, simple.

Newcastle – Once again, our lack of height let us down in this one, and lack of strength.

Tottenham – Utter joke this game. To be 2-0 and lose a game, shows serious cracks in the team.

Manchester United – Neither team deserved to win or lose, the worst Arsenal/United game in history. But United got that lucky goal and we were unable to get back.

In each of those games, we could of won. But we didn’t and we are left regretting it. We have been lucky to be able to get back into it, with both United and Chelsea dropping points.

But what’s the point of all this? Well, if we are only 2 points behind Man Utd, and they haven’t lost, how is it possible? Well it’s down to the amount of games United have drawn. This season, they have drawn 8 games, and we have drawn 5. But it’s the consistency of United draws. Clubs have been breaking their defence lately, without a reply, and that’s why I believe as long as we stay consistent and scoring goals, we can win the league. What do you think?

Carlos Vela is in the news today, with a host of clubs linked with a loan move for him. But the club that looks most certain to sign him, is Bolton Wanderers. Bolton have played some very good football since Owen Coyle took charge, and did wonders with Wilshere. Jack Wilshere toughened up and learnt to tackle strongly at Bolton, which added to his flair and vision, has created a brilliant player. If Bolton can do the same for our Carlos, then we will have to start paying them. I hope Vela joins Bolton above all clubs, as our relationship between clubs will grow stronger, which could also help us in any deal for Gary Cahill. Who would your favoured loan club be?

Next up, is the question who would you like to see leave the Arsenal this January?
Now this should probably over on our partner site, GoonerSOnline Debate Time, which is now live, and would love to see you over there. But, I have decided to keep it over here, as it is related to to post and the January month. So I hope to see you in comments, on who you would like to see leave.

My opinion?

Almunia
Squillaci – no joke, I hate the player.
And… Vela on loan to Bolton haha.

Cheers GoonerS

<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/gooneronline/~3/IoVSsiQQ7dY/this-could-certainly-be-our-season-vela.html" title="This could certainly be our season, Vela set for Bolton? It had to be done.

Now onto the game. Before the game started, I had my doubts and I bet I wasn’t the only one. But I was proven wrong, as Arsenal came out firing on all cylinders. We began strongly, keeping possession but going forward attacking the Chelsea defence. In the first half, we were the strongest team, doing all the attacking and very little defending. But as we saw in the earlier fixture against Chelsea, we can have as many chances, but if we don’t finish them, Chelsea will. But this time, they didn’t. Of the little chances they had, only 1 shot was on target. There was a difference in the way Chelsea played in this match, they seemed to respect us more and allowed us to have more time on the ball. Which we love and take full advantage of.
The goal came at a very good time. The 44th minute. Taking us into the break leading, resulting in a confident mood throughout our team and a very negative mood throughout Chelsea’s. And we saw this difference in moods, in the first minutes of the second half. We kicked-off and went straight at them, resulting in a corner, which came to nothing, but then we went back at Chelsea, and won another corner. This corner was headed away, only for Nasri to battle for the ball back. Luckily, Essien then made a strong stub at the ball, sending Walcott away, who calmly squared it to Fabregas, who finished with ease.
We were now in a strong situation, two up against an old, tired Chelsea team who were down in a very big dump. But we hadn’t finished. Chelsea’s defence were split open, after a delightful pass from our Cesc, which set Walcott on his way, and produced a Henry-like finish. Delightful!
Then… Chelsea scored. Another set-piece conceded once again. It’s getting worrying. I’m quite certain Fabianski got bored, so decided to come out for a bit of fun?

It was a tiring second half, but what a display from the Arsenal!

There were a few key things that stood out for me last night -

The Return Of Cesc Fabregas – For those saying he isn’t as good anymore or anything silly like that, he was class last night. And more importantly, he was playing as our captain, always talking. It was also nice to see him give each player a ‘congratulations’ slap.

Walcott Coming Central – Throughout the match, I noticed that Walcott was no longer staying out wide, but coming inside and getting involved. He caused havoc.

Djourou! – Top class performance, him and Vermaelen would be great, as long as he stays fit.

We Still Can’t Defend Set Pieces.

A Few Lovely Pictures -

Before I Forget, Henry Returned To The Arsenal Last Night -

Walcott looking just like Henry don’t you think?

Well, consistency will be key now, lets go out and batter Wigan!

Good night last night, don’t you think GoonerS?

Player Ratings To Follow

Just A Catchup!

I’ve been away for a while now, and I have missed a bit of news. But not much.

Worrying Times – Has Cesc had enough?

So, Denilson is supposedly to be leaving the Arsenal in January, for either Barcelona or Wolfsburg. And to be truly honest, I couldn’t care less. As long as we get a reasonable fee, then I would be happy to let him go. His passing is atrocious, he doesn’t play with his head and then we have the chance that Wenger will replace him with a better player.

But, I can’t see him leaving in January.

Now onto some good news. Vermaelen is back in training, and is just a few weeks away from a comeback. I can’t wait to have him back in the team, because I have given up on Koscienly and Squillaci. We are never going to win the league with them being our 2 centre halves. They always seem worried and too cautious to ever keep a clean sheet against a big club. Drogba, will have the time of his life if Djourou doesn’t play.

And finally, it looks as though Wenger wont be splashing his cash in January, in case we go bust. What a JOKE! If you want to read a very witty response to Wenger’s choice of not spending in January, then head to Le Grove who have a great post today.

But… I am quite worried. If we don’t change our ways and beef up our team, then Arsenal football club are in real danger of an out of top 4 finish next year.

We will have to wait and see, but Wenger my belief is beginning to … well go.

How do you feel on our squad? Is it strong enough? And our centre halves, are they useless?

Should We Give All Our Players A Snood For The United Game?

In the past week, we have toppled and turned to get away from Coronation Street, so thank god we could turn to Sky Sports for some football. What’s the main headline? Should Football Players Be Allowed To Wear Snoods?

Now I am struggling to understand why a lot of people are getting wound up over players wearing a snood. Obviously the likes of Fat Sam and Pulis will moan because their players are ‘hard men’, but what is it with all the journalists.

Well personally, I believe that if it keeps the players happy, then it can only make them play better rather than worse. It keeps the players necks warm, nothing else. It doesn’t cause any offence, does it?

But, the main reason why I am doing this post, is to prove a point that A Snood A Game Keeps The Bad Performances Away. Because ever since the likes of Nasri and Arshavin have began to wear snoods, they have been playing better. Nasri has been great all season, but that snood he wears, seems to give him that extra kick.

Another point I am trying to get out today, is that Arshavin is not rubbish, he is lazy, but not useless.

This season, Andrey Arshavin, has scored 3 goals, and made 8 assists. That’s not a bad start, in 16 games. Now I’m not going into detail, because you either love him or hate him, I love him, he is fantastic. How do you feel?

So Should We Give Each Player A Snood For Tomorrows Game?

Arsenal Back On Track–But Can We Continue?

Well the weekend has been great for us, sending us top of the league, thanks to a frozen Bloomfield Road and a Beckford header. Oh and not forgetting a superb display from boy wonder Samir Nasri.

Well each game, is a must win for us at the moment, especially running up to the games against Man Utd and Chelsea.

Now the game was quite entertaining, with chances for both sides thanks to our shaky defence this season. We began strongly, with Arshavin and Nasri shining throughout the opening minutes. This lead to the opening goal of the game on the 14th minute for Arsenal.

We continued to attack, causing havoc to Fulham, but we were once again unable to give ourselves a 2 goal lead. After 20 minutes, Fulham switched on and began to attack. We dealt with it well, until we had a silly moment at the back. Squillaci decided to be the hero, which resulted in a clash of heads between himself and Koscielny. It was clearly Koscielny’s ball, so I don’t know what Squillaci was thinking. Koscielny was out of it, but forced himself to carry on, but was unable to defend in his state which allowed Kamara through to finish confidently.

As from their, Djourou came on and tried to steady the ship as Fulham gained more confidence and attacked. The second half, was ours. We were on top throughout the whole of the half, and our persistent paid of on the 75th minute. Another super goal from Samir Nasri, who showed delightful technique and nippy footwork, to round the keep, twist and finish from a tight angle.

The Goals

What superb goals from Nasri eh?

Well were now top of the league, and it feels great. Decembers going to be a tough month, but can it be worse than November? Maybe with our defence.

And another plus, is the return of RVP. I have had my concerns about his worth to Arsenal due to his fitness problems, but you can’t take his class away.

COME ON YOU GOONERS!

Are you worried about our centre backs at the moment? I am. I believe we need a tough defender to replace Gallas. Maybe Naldo, I do like him.

Wenger Slated By Arsenal Fans - Disgrace!

Ok, so we losing to our biggest rivals is bad enough, but losing after being 2-0 up is much worse. But should this really result in the sacking of Arsene Wenger?

Personally, I think it’s a disgrace that Wenger’s being slated because of a lack of passion from the players. The players have let him down. We all know Wenger works his socks off, he showed his passion and frustration, by chucking his bottle. I don’t think any of the players would of been as frustrated as Wenger.

I understand that we have been dropping valuable points to the likes of WBA & Newcastle, but so have Man Utd and Chelsea. Mancini, spent over 100 M in the summer transfer window, and we still sit above them in the league. Wenger did extremely well with Chamakh, but I believe he let himself down with the defensive signings.

When a striker looked at Martin Keown and Tony Adams, what did they see? A tough, crazy defender who would knock them out if they tried getting past.
When a striker looks at Koscienly and Squillaci, what do they see? A weak skinny defender who has no confidence whatsoever.

We need a new tough defender, and a personal favourite would be Naldo of Werder Bremen.

Keep the Faith GoonerS, because we’ve got Arsene Wenger who gives every drop of blood for the club, just as he told ArsenalDotCom. You can read the story here.

Lets use the Braga game as a confidence builder, and show the Arsenal we know best. It’s a shame Arsenal have two faces.

Who Would Your Front Three Attackers Be?

Thank God the international breaks over. What a joke eh?

Wenger could do with a hand^

Now with RVP and Bendtner fit again, we have a dilemma. Who to play as our main 3 attackers.
This season, Wenger has gone with the front three of Arshavin, Chamakh and Nasri/Walcott.

But we have the choice of

RVP

Bendtner

Vela

Eboue

Rosicky … also.

So who do we go with?

I can’t choose, I really can’t. I’d love Chamakh and RVP, but then we would have to switch to a 4-4-2. But then this creates further problems like where would Nasri come in? Arshavin? Walcott?

Wenger’s definitely got a tough job on his hands.

Well here I go, I’m going to put my head on the line here and choose my favourite X1.

I struggled with Clichy first, and almost switched to Gibbs. Why didn’t I?
I also struggled with the midfield, I definitely wanted Song, Fabregas and Nasri in, but was insure over Wilshere and Walcott. But I went with them.

But obviously, the side would change depending on the team. Just as it did with the Everton game. I would replace Wilshere with Diaby/Denilson in those tough battles in midfield, but wouldn’t that stop Wilshere from becoming the best player he can be?

Oh deary me, Wenger certainly has a tough job.

How do you feel on Arsenal front three? Would you be a good manager?
Sounds like hard work to me.

Good Luck Wenger!

Arsenal 2-1 Everton - Match Report

Great result yesterday. We worked hard, and came away with a 2-1 win. Goodison Park, is a tough place to get a result, but we did and we did it well.

The Game

Both sides started well, but Arsenal looked most likely to score.

And it was Arsenal who took the lead. On the 36th minute, Nasri took a shot which Everton keeper Howard parried wide, only for it to fall to Arshavin, who teed up Sagna who smashed home from a tight angle.

Arsenal went into the second half, as the side on top, and we carried it through to the second half. 3 minutes into the second half, we went 2-0. Fabregas played a lovely one-two with Denilson, before slotting home sweetly.

Was it going to be a 4th clean sheet in the PL?
Fabianski would of hoped so, who has conceded a goal every 126 minutes this season. Whereas Almunia’s record is a goal every 77 minutes.

But it wasn’t to be. Tim Cahil, who I correctly (don’t mean to brag) highlighted as Everton’s danger man in the Match Preview, scored on the 89th minute. Our record is now 12 goals conceded. Which is quite poor letting a goal in every game par one. At least we aren’t Man Utd though. They have conceded 15 goals so far, with Chelsea on 8.

Match Video Highlights

Player Ratings

Fabianski – (8) – May just be the end of our goalkeeping problems. His confidence is high and it’s helping a lot.

Sagna (7) – Great finish, and worked extremely hard going forwards. But defensively, he gave us some problems and too many needless fouls.

Squillaci (7) – Another day he may of been sent off for his challenge on Saha. Solid display overall.

Djourou (7) – He’s worked really hard this season, and it’s now finally showing. Good performance.

Clichy (7) – No better no worse than usual. Overall a Clichy performance.

Song (7) – Gave the ball away a lot. Committed in his tackles, and did his job of holding the midfield together.

Wilshere (5) – Was battered in the midfield, from the first minute, and Hetinga was replaced as he would of definitely of been sent off.

Fabregas (7) – Wenger might think he’s back to his best, but he’s not. Definitely not. His passing has been woeful at times and against Newcastle it cost us the result. The whole side didn’t gel.

Arshavin (6.5) – He always fades, and it’s a real shame. Because his run on the 17th minute was fab, and his lay-off to Sagna showed his quality.

Nasri (7.5) – Really hit the top mark this season. Top class compared to others. Would of been a great game for him if he had got his goal.

Chamakh (6.5) – Didn’t have too many chances, but he always makes a difference. He was brilliant in the defensive department. Also, he was involved with a few one-twos, which is one thing we don’t see from RVP.

Subs -

Denilson – (7.5) Best game I’ve seen him play for the GoonerS. And he was a sub. Well, he gave the game everything Wilshere couldn’t. Brilliant.

Rosicky – (6) Came on the 66th minute, and was really just a change of legs. Gave us just as much as Arshavin but for less time.

Eboue – N/A

A vital win, which sent us second. Congratulations Sunderland did what we couldn’t. Score against Chelsea. 3 TIMES. Now only 2 points behind.

C’MON YOU GOONERS!

Plus+++ I got my prediction of 2-1 in the Match Preview right!

What are your thoughts on the game?

Arsenal Vs Everton–Match Preview Don’t Expect A 6-1 Thriller!

As a football fan, Goodison Park is a funny one.You can never know what to expect. One week we will go there and beat them 6-1 and next week they will batter the likes of Liverpool. So I think this game is for the bookies.

The Game

Well the only game I have not expected Arsenal to win, was the Chelsea match. And against Chelsea, we were the better side, but couldn’t take our chances. But this game, could be a tough one. A win would do us wonders, going above Man Utd.

I think we can open them up, as Bolton did mid-week, and our attack is much better than Bolton’s, so we will take those chances which Bolton were unable to. My only worry, is coping with Yakubu and Cahil. These two are very good players. Yakubu is incredibly strong, whereas our defence isn’t. Cahil, is so, so dangerous in the air, which is one of our biggest weaknesses.

Everton are a very strong side at home, with the last time they lost at the Goodison coming on the 18th September against Newcastle.
Whereas our last defeat at the Emirates, was last Sunday against a hard working Newcastle side.

Favoured Line-up -

One change to the winning side against Wolves mid-week. I wonder if you’ve spotted it?

Rosicky brought a lot to the game mid-week, and was impressed with him, so he starts for me.

Arshavin showed a bit of flair mid-week, but Nasri would bring so much more.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Expect to see Walcott and RVP sometime during the second half.

Expected Everton Line-up -

Everton: Howard, Neville, Distin, Jagielka, Coleman, Baines, Heitinga, Pienaar, Arteta, Cahill, Yakubu.

On the whole, expect a tight match, and have a bit of patience, because Everton will soon relax and we will hit them. Can you tell I watched the fight last night?

Prediction – 2-1 Arsenal!

Come On You GoonerS!

What do you think of Arsenal’s chances?

Arsenal Vs Newcastle – Match Preview

Good to get back to writing the match previews, as it makes me think about the game ahead of us. So today were up against Newcastle. This match is ours to win, as long as we stay concentrated at the back and Fabianski is able to sort us out on set plays.

I expect us to win the game, and if were after that title, then it’s a must.

After the disappointing defeat away at Shakhtar, we need to bounce back. As Newcastle are still up in the clouds after their demolition job on Sunderland. And Newcastle are a strong side when their confidence is high.

It’s nice to know Chelsea are going to have to work hard today, against Liverpool away from home.

Maybe Liverpool will catch them out and Torres will find his form… But I’m not expecting much from a Liverpool side currently stuck in 3rd gear.

The Game

Were currently sitting pretty in 3rd, five points off top with a game in hand. Late goals have been a common factor at the Emirtates, with late goals sneaking wins in 9 out of 11 league matches. That is one way we have improved this year, we now posses a new never say die attitude, which works with our continuous pace throughout the entire game.

Newcastle have won just one in the last 15 games against Arsenal and we hope to make that 1 out of 16 today.

If were to send Newcastle back to Tyneside with zilch, we will have to keep housemates Nolan & Carroll quiet.

Team News

Arsenal -

Fabregas is expected to return along with Arshavin, who both missed the champo league loss against Shakhtar.
Vermaelen should be back for the game against Wolves on Wednesday, and Diaby (ankle), Gibbs (knee), and RVP still out.

Newcastle -

Big Sol is out with a thigh problem, so we won’t be welcoming him back. Youngster Tim Krul will continue in goal and Dan Gosling, Ben Arfa remain in their hospital beds.

Favoured Team Line Up -

Fabianski is the obvious choice with Wojciech still to prove himself. I have continued with Clichy, as he is our only left back, and I believe you only want a left back playing at left back. Look at Carragher at right back. Disaster. There was the thought of Eboue, who played at left back against Newcastle in the Carling cup, but I am sticking with Clichy.

Koscielny and Squillaci proving to be a strong partnership, but still expect Vermaelen to come in when fit.

Cesc is back so expected to play, Song to be match winner again? And great to have Wilshere back.

I have decided against Arshavin, maybe he could do with a bit of time to watch the game. Nasri, who has been superb, playing in a wide role, which he excels at, with Walcott on the other side to rip apart the Newcastle defence.

Chamakh or Bendtner. I was close to putting Bendtner and still I’m pondering, but I will stick with Chamakh, as he has performed brilliantly all season.

So expect a thrilling match, with great football being exhibited by the likes of Wilshere, Fabregas, Nasri, Walcott and Chamakh all combining. Brilliant!

Pre Match Interviews -

Summer signing Laurent Koscielny, has spoke out over life at Arsenal,

"It has been a busy and satisfactory start for me. I am happy with my first few months at Arsenal," said Koscielny, who has settled in the Premier League fantastically
"I have come to a big club where I knew things would seem different from my previous team, Lorient.

"Going abroad there is always that adaptation period for anybody, but there are a lot of French people here and there have been no problems integrating.

"I think things are getting better and better - communication with my team-mates is improving and I am settling very well.

"I know I will profit from the environment and lifestyle here.

"I am understanding more and more English - I have the football words already, like 'man on' and 'time' - those are the most important things to know as soon as you arrive."

The defender added: "The toughest match for me so far was definitely West Brom.

"I had been playing lots of games prior to that one and was at the limit of my physical possibilities.

"When you are not at your physical best, it is hard to mentally give the effort such a game requires.

"To lose at against them at the Emirates Stadium left a bitter taste and we have to be unbreakable at home."

The centre-half concluded: "Everyone can play his part, go out onto the pitch and do something that benefits the team. That's so important.

"The confidence is good, the atmosphere among everyone is too, everyone is pulling in the same way. Positive feeling like this helps us face matches and win them."

Newcastle expected team line up -

Krul, Simpson, Coloccini, Williamson, Jose Enrique, Tiote, Barton, Nolan, Gutierrez, Ameobi, Carroll.

Come On You GoonerS!

Match Prediction – 3-1.

Do you agree on my team selection and match prediction? Who’s going to score?

Arsenal Legend Reveals BIG Offer By Wenger For Goalkeeper

Ok, so I told you I had some news regarding Arsene Wenger’s efforts during the summer transfer window. Sadly, I was too slow, and the gunning hawk published it earlier. Hey Ho, as long as your updated.

So, in case you’ve not read it, Arsenal legend Bob Wilson, revealed that Arsene Wenger made a big-money offer during the summer transfer window for a new goalkeeper. I was shocked by the news, hearing it live on BBC Five Live, and my first assumption was Pepe Reina.

Wilson’s comments were as follows;

I was pushing a certain individual and Arsene (Wenger) went in over the summer and offered amazing money for who I consider to be to most consistent goalkeeper in the Premier League. It was absolutely not [Mark] Schwarzer. The person involved is at a club that under normal circumstances would be challenging Arsenal. One of the clubs with a great history and tradition.

From this news, I can only think of one reason why Wilson would share this news now. We are still interested. And I believe it can only be Reina. Because Liverpool are a team that are up at the top with us, with great history. Maybe he wanted to stir it up, with Hodgson speaking out against a move a few days earlier?

Do we still need a new goalkeeper? If so, would Reina be top of the list?

Arsenal 1-0 West Ham Match Report

Yesterdays three pointer, was very important. With Chelsea winning against a tough Blackburn, we needed to make sure we don’t fall behind any further.

On paper, the game was a 4-0 thriller, but it’s never the same on the pitch is it? It was tough breaking down West Ham, as they were working hard to earn a draw, which they would of got if it weren’t for Song.

West Ham put a very strong performance in, and Rob Green kept them in it, after many strong saves.

Looking back at the game, I am very impressed with our defence. We defended together, which is normally one of our weak points. We fail to defend together. But today, we were very strong, and our communication, was top notch.

Fabianski, was also on top – once again.

I would of liked to see Bendtner earlier, but in all, another 3 points for the Arsenal.

Match Video Highlights

Arsenal v West Ham United
Uploaded by specsoccr. - More professional, college and classic sports videos.

Thanks for reading, GoonerS.

Check us out later, I will be updating you, with some BIG news.

Arsenal Vs Newcastle United – Match Preview

I didn’t manage to get on here for the Man City match report, but I’m sure you all got to watch it. What a game eh?

Well the Man City game has been and is now slowly going, as we prepare for the match tonight against newly promoted Newcastle, in the Carling cup.

It seems as though Wenger has decided to take a different approach to the cups this season, as he admitted that we would field a strong side. Personally, I feel as though that’s the best option, as Arsenal Football Club, needs a cup. Whether it’s the carling or the champo league cup, the Emirates needs a new cup painted across it. But the Champo League Cup would luck pretty.

Onto the game.

Newcastle aren’t expected to field their strongest side, as they are hoping to stay in the league above other things. But this doesn’t mean to they won’t have a eager side.

They are without Big Sol, and Steven Taylor, so expect a young back line. I expect Arsenal to win, with our free flowing football being too much for Newcastle. But we have to remain concentrated, as this Newcastle side ended Chelsea’s run in the competition.

Laurent Koscienly has recovered from his back injury. Bendtner, who managed to get the third against City, is back in contention to play along with Walcott. Szczesny will play, as Mannone is at Hull.

Expected Line-up -

GK- Szczesny
RB – Eboue
CB – Djourou
CB – Koscielny
LB – Gibbs
CM – Lansbury
CM – Eastmond
CM – Rosicky
LF – Vela
CF – Bendtner
RF – Walcott

This is a strong team, and would finish above Newcastle’s first x1 in the PL, so we should be able to get past a weakened Newcastle. Expect to see JET play maybe even start.

Bring on Newcastle!

Do you agree with the match line-up? Score Predictions?

GoonerSOnline Prediction -
Tough one this, once we get one I can see us getting 4. Hmmm.

4-2 Arsenal!
