We recommend that you as a buyer or seller ask questions of the people offering to do business with you. If anything sounds unusual, it probably is. Most people that are legitimately looking to buy your items will want to pay you the correct amount for that item. So, be aware of anyone asking you to sell the item to them for a price greater than what you have listed and for you to refund to them the difference. If a buyer wants to buy your item, they should pay you what you are asking for that item.

Here's a helpful hint when you are considering the name of your item listing on gorage.com:

• If possible, do not use any quotation marks especially quotes (") in your titles.

The search engines do not easily recognize the quotation marks as part of the titles of pages. Whatever you title your item as, the search engines will see as the title for the page that your item listing appears on.

So, if you are selling a 40" Samsung Plasma TV, list it as a 40 inch Samsung Plasma TV. This should help with the search engine rankings. You can include the 40" plasma text in your description, which will help with the gorage search as well as the search engine rankings.

How does it work?

When creating your item listing, put the minimum price you want to get for the item and state in the description (or title) that it is a silent auction item. Specify the length of time that buyers have to make an offer. At the end of that time period, the buyer that made the best offer above the minimum price wins the auction. Item Title

When creating your item listing, you'll want the item title to be as descriptive but brief as possible. When you can, include the manufacturer name, model or style. This will be useful when potential buyers come to the gorage.com website and are searching for items. In addition, it will improve the visibility of your items on the search engines.

Let's say you are selling a camera. If you create an item listing with a title of "Camera" then you don't give potential buyers enough information about your particular item. We've been working on making the item listings and seller gorages search engine friendly. What does search engine friendly mean and how does that affect the users of the site? To start, search engine friendly pages are designed so that the content of the page is picked up by search engines. Most common formats for building webpages with database connections are not recognized by search engines.

Our goal is to get your items listed on search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, MSN...Etc. This means more exposure for your item listings at no additional cost to you.

In addition, we have built pages with shorter web addresses or URL's. This makes it easier to send a link to your gorage or item listing. It also makes it easier for you to put links to your items on other websites. For example, if you wanted to send a link to your gorage to someone the path to that page would look like this: http://www.gorage.com/mygorage/goragename

Getting to your item would look like this: http://www.gorage.com/myitem/100 where the "100" represents the numeric id for that item in the gorage.com database.
