Gordon Roqué to Perform at gallery F closing in Nashville on Feb. 26

Gordon Roqué has been invited to be one of several performers for the closing event of gallery F. at Scarrett Bennett. The festivities will go from 5:30 PM to 10 PM. Watch him sing and perform on a Steinway Grand Piano throughout the evening.

This will be the last gallery F event EVER at their current space. The event also serves as the closing reception for the exhibition 23 Years Without War.

The evening's entertainment will also include Thomas Helton, Theatre Intangible Live, Craig Schenker, Greenwell and Hiegemann, and JJ Jones.

gallery F. is located on the campus of Scarritt Bennett at 1000 19TH AVE S (at the corner of Grand Ave. and 19th) NASHVILLE 37212.

Gordon Roqué Cancels The Globe Sessions. Here's Why:

Hello Everyone,

This is Gordon Roqué. First of all, I have to say that working collaboratively and building ideas with others are the kinds of things I cherish as an artist. Since I've lived in Nashville, I have worked with producers, fellow musicians, songwriters, photographers, and writers on many projects that were fun, memorable, deeply fulfilling, and beneficial to all parties involved. The pursuit of my latest creative project,The Globe Sessions, has not been one of those instances.

In the last couple of days, I faced a difficult decision regarding The Globe Sessions, which I have been previewing all last month. As my first real venture into the world of video for my music, I intended to record several live performances in various outdoor locations. In December, I met with a local videographer named Maurice Barrett (also known as 24/7 or tooforseven). We agreed on the fee I would pay for him to work collaboratively with me to film these sessions and discussed details about my overall vision for the end-result.

At the end of the day, not only was the end result unsatisfactory due to technical problems, but Mr. Barrett failed to address these issues in a timely, appropriate, and professional manner. Speaking for myself, I will not be hiring or working with Maurice Barrett on any creative projects whatsoever in the future.

Basically, I have sadly decided to cancel The Globe Sessions at this time due to technical problems that could not be remedied and an astonishing level of unprofessionalism on the part of Mr. Barrett, the film-maker I hired to do the work.

On a positive note, I have not given up on The Globe Sessions and hope that I can fulfill my vision for them some day. I will also proceed with the fundraising for my album in one way or another. I'm going to take the next couple of weeks to lick my wounds and figure out what I need to do next.

One thing I now for sure is that I'm going to be performing around town in Nashville again and will have shows to announce soon.

I'd like to thank everyone for their support during this unfortunate sequence of events.

I walk away from this experience having learned a thing or two. I need to be even more selective about who I choose to work with. I should follow my instincts much more closely, and finally, true professionalism and follow-through on what you promise is worth its weight in gold.

I am looking forward to the next adventure just around the bend.

Gordon's Blog "Where Pianos Roam" To Return in January 2012

It's been very quiet in the world of Gordon lately, but in 2012, he will use his voice again. Speaking more eloquently. Singing more strongly, with a little bit more passion in the timbre of his voice.

First of all, Gordon Roque will return to writing on his beloved blog Where Pianos Roam in January 2012.

This time around, Gordon will be sharing more about what he is reading, watching, and doing in his daily life. He will write about his views on the current state of music and popular culture as well as his own commentary on the upcoming US elections for President. Topics involving Gay Rights and the Environment will also be explored. As his schedule permits, there will be at least one to three posts per week.

Expect to see the first post on New Year's Day, January 1, 2012.

This marks the beginning of a full year of creative pursuits and performances.

In due time, Gordon will be silent no more.

Gordon's Blog "Where Pianos Roam" To Go On Hiatus Until 2012

This Sunday, September 11, 2011, Gordon Roque will be putting in one last post at his blog Where Pianos Roam for this year. He will be back on a regular blogging schedule as soon as time permits.

Until then, there are other projects that he needs to focus on and finish before the end of the year. All will be explained in the final post. It won't be a goodbye, just a "see you later".

Gordon's August fundraising campaign is reaching it's end today on August 31st! It's not too late to help him record and promote his next full album of music.

The fundraising goal is $2,000, and this will go a very long way towards getting his new music out. The next album will be an effusive, drum-laden, and lively affair. As he has promised, if he reaches his goal, he will record a dance song and film a dance video for all the world to see.
