It was a pretty even matchup between Trace and Penn, with both being very strong players throughout the season. I liked the finale featuring these two guys and thought they were the most deserving of being there. I did not like the fact that I had to sit through two hours of programming just to find out the winner. This was so drug out and who wants to hear Trump talk himself up for that long?

When all was said and done, Trump picked Trace Adkins as the winner of Celebrity Apprentice 2013 over Penn Jillette. Did he make the right decision? Who were you rooting for?

WARNING: GAME OF THRONES SPOILERS AHEAD! Please be warned this post contains Game of Thrones spoilers for season3, episode 8. Please do not keep reading if you do not want to know what happened!

All right! Some Daenerys right away for once! Daeny is consulting with Ser Jorah Mormont and Ser Barristan Selmy over doing battle with her new enemies. She elects to seek out the Titan’s Bastard and The Second Sons. He’s sort of handsome I guess. Kind of vulgar though. OK, super vulgar. She ignores this and compares army sizes with his (hers is bigger, heh heh) and proposes joining them together. She gives him two days to decide. His counter-proposal is that he wants to see her, ah, womanhood. She deftly avoids this. (Side note: one of his men is much handsomer and has lovely hair and makes eyes at her. I predict romance!)

Now on to Melisandre, who delivers Gendry to Stannis Baratheon at Storms End. She instructs the minions to make Gendry look good and off he goes. Stannis wants to know what’s the point when she’s just going to slaughter him? Does he have no sense of style?! Down to the dungeon where Stannis’s daughter Shireen has been teaching to Ser Davos Seaworth to read. He’s practicing! He’s doing pretty well! I don’t suppose they didn’t have Hooked on Phonics back then. He has to hide the book when Stannis comes calling. Stannis tells Ser Davos that Melisandre has returned with Gendry and of her dastardly plan. Ser Davos points out that this is Stannis’s nephew so maybe we should reconsider that plan? Heck no! The plan stands! Anyway Stannis came down to tell Ser Davos he will free him—ONLY IF he promises not to lay a hand on Melisandre. Ser Davos wants to know why now, when this proposed slaughter is impending? Good point!

Back to Yunkai, where the Second Sons are debating Daeny’s proposal. Vulgar Jerk’s plan? No battle necessary if they go after Daeny herself. So who will pull off this feat? Guy with the pretty hair, of course!

Tyrion Lannister goes to visit Lady Sansa Stark, who is with Shae, prepping for the Big Wedding Day. Awkward! Tyrion asks to have a moment with Sansa who is wearing a ginormous dress. He tells Sansa that he did not ask for this arranged marriage and promises that he will never hurt her. Over to Margaery Tyrell, who is trying to kiss up to Queen Cersei Baratheon. They’re going to be sisters, you know! (Also Cersei will be her mother-in-law but never mind that, yeah?) Cersei politely tells Margaery that if she refers to Cersei as sister again, she will have her strangled in her sleep. Family! So fun!!

On to the ceremony! King Joffrey Baratheon approaches Sansa with his customary smirk. Why? He’s going to give her away, of course! It’s his duty! Augh. So down the aisle they go and she looks PETRIFIED. Girl, your groom is hot! As everyone looks on Joffrey presents the bride to the groom, then steals the groom’s step stool so Tyrion is forced to ask Sansa to stoop down so he can put a cape on her.

Back to Gendry in his new chambers, where Melisandre pays a visit. She lights a fire then offers him a drink, which he is wary of taking but does so after she takes a drink first. He takes a big swig, then she starts taking off his clothes which is weird. Oh, there go hers now! She has an interesting way of sacrificing a man. Insert sex scene here, he still has his boots on which is weird, and THEN she binds his hands. Trust me, she says! Then binds his feet, then takes out….the leeches. Stannis and Ser Davos enter in the middle of things. She removes the leeches, which Stannis then throws one by one in the fire while reciting names of usurpers.

Cut to the wedding reception! Lady Olenna Tyrell tries to makes sense of how messed up the branches of their family tree will be once all the weddings happen. What a cut up! Tyrion is a bit drunk and Sansa does not look amused. Joffrey decides he wants to go play when Sansa excuses herself. Tywin Lannister goes to Tyrion to remind the groom that he’s going to have trouble knocking up his bride if he can’t perform. Details, details! Ser Loras Tyrell goes to chat with his betrothed Cersei but she’s not in a chatty mood, go figure. Joffrey finds Sansa and taunts her as usual. Joffrey offers to pay her a visit after his uncle passes out to impregnate her himself, then tells everyone it’s time for the bedding ceremony. Tyrion informs Joffrey this will not happen in so many awesome words which does not please Joffrey. Tywin steps in and Tyrion leads his new bride away. This is like one of those Gypsy weddings on TLC!

In their chambers Tyrion continues to drink and asks his wife how old she is. Fourteen, she says. OK then! He tells Sansa that his father has commanded him to consummate this marriage; in response she pours herself a glass of wine, then starts to disrobe. Tyrion tells her to stop and that he won’t do it until she wants him to. What if that’s never, she asks? And then he passes out. Good times! Can’t wait for the honeymoon!

Back to Yunkai, where the Unsullied roam. Missandei and Daeny are “hangin’ out” when a masked intruder comes in and grabs Missandei at knifepoint. It’s Guy with the hair! Daney commands him to let Missandei go and asks why he hasn’t killed Daeny yet if those are his orders. He doesn’t want to, he says, then promptly drops the heads of his two buddies on the floor. Aw, he killed them rather than her! Someone’s got a crush! Did I call it, or what? Daney asks if he will fight for her, and makes him swear to it. He does so, swearing that his army and his heart are hers. Sigh.

The next morning…Shae enters the room of the newlyweds with breakfast. Fun! Shae checks the bed sheets and smiles at what she does not find.

OK now out of nowhere, we’re with Samwell Tarly, Gilly, and the baby, all traveling through the snow. They find a place to stay for the night located near a tree with a face in it and some crows on the branches. Looks swell! Samwell fails to build a fire and she tells him to join her under the furs. He tells Gilly that the baby winked at her. She doesn’t buy it. He asks if she has thought of a name for the baby yet. She accuses him to talking fancy to confuse her then builds the dam fire herself. Samwell brainstorms some boy baby names. They bond over both having jerks for fathers, and the crows cause a commotion outside. Samwell goes to investigate. Bad idea, yeah? He takes a sword and a torch and discovers that the tree is COVERED in crows. She goes out as well and suddenly the crows stop crowing. Something is approaching, and it’s…a White Walker! It shatters Samwell’s sword and punches him aside. As it approaches Gilly, Samwell gets up and charges at It with the mysterious giant arrowhead he showed Gilly once and kills It! They flee and the crows follow! And…that’s the end.

So! Crows, a wedding, a new romance, some leeches, a zombie—if that’s not a recipe for a good time, then what is! Tune in two weeks to see what animals come to hang out this time on the Games of Thrones 2013 season 3 recap.

As stated, the final two celebrities standing on the All Star Celebrity Apprentice 2013 Finale Sunday night were Penn Jillette and Trace Adkins. The majority of the predictions on various fan sites from bloggers and in viewer polls are torn between who will win, but the final decision lies in the hands of Trump himself.

After each contestant was given a chance to show why they should win, the official results were announced, who won All Star Celebrity Apprentice 2013? Did the Macadamia Mash-Up take down the Swirtle? I don’t know about anyone else, but the final two contestants on Celebrity Apprentice 2013 were very surprising to me. I honestly thought that it was going to be Penn and Lil Jon, when Lil Jon was fired I was shocked! Last week was the start of the final task, Trace and Penn were given the task to invent two flavors of ice cream for the Walgreens brand Delish! Both teams came up with some great ideas and the final products for each team sounded great, but whose was better? Who won Celebrity Apprentice 2013? Who is ready to find out who will the All Star Celebrity Apprentice for 2013? I sure am! I always enjoy the live finales for this show, you never know what will happen! Since Celebrity Apprentice started the show has helped raise over $13 million dollars for charities. This season has been by far the largest earning season so far! Right now we are looking back on the season and looking back at how Penn and Trace made it to the end! What did you think about their work on the promotional videos for their ice cream flavors, or what we saw of them? Who do you think sold the most ice cream? We will find out soon enough!

Penn is still having an issue with shaving nine seconds off of his video, Lisa has the idea of cutting out Dennis completely, but Peen doesn’t want to cut out the punch line of his magic trick. He decides that he can cut him out and then talk about how the magic trick was done in his presentation! Team Penn is on their way to the event to sell their tickets for their ice cream social, they don’t seem too worried about their star power coming, Team Trace has former New York Jets player Tim Tebow to come to his ice cream social, he is bringing $200,000 with him! Team Penn is working on their decorations, Penn has no idea where to put any of the marketing, Lisa and LaToya took charge of the decorating. Team Trace is now decorating their ice cream stand and it starting to come together quite nicely for them. Trace has Gary performing, yes I said performing, he will be singing and dancing on stage at the social!

Trump is having some of the fired celebrities on stage with him now in the New York studio, Dee Snoder, Omarosa, Brande Roderick, Claudia Jordan and Stephen Baldwin are all on stage and they are talking about their experience on the show and what they have been up to since they left the show. Penn and Teller is performing a magic trick for the audience at the New York studio, then they cut to the ice cream socials to see the star power we have coming in on each team. Lisa is in charge of the money intake on Team Penn, Penn’s biggest check so far is from the former Mayor of Las Vegas and he brought a check for $250,000. Team Trace is having some issues at the beginning and then the money starts to roll in for him as well, he gets some pretty big names like the Acadamy of Country Music, NASCAR, Billy Cyrus and Wynonna! Trace may not have gotten a $250,000 check but he did get a couple for $100,000 and a lot of smaller checks and by smaller I mean $10,000-50,000. With only ten minutes left of the social Tim Tebow has yet to show up! Will this hurt Team Trace?

The rest of the celebrities that have been fired this season are brought on stage and can I just say, Dennis Rodman, looks very……fabulous! They are talking about how they made it so close to the end, especially Lisa who was one of the last to be fired. Back to the ticket selling, Team Trace was about to have a heart attack because Tim Tebow hadn’t gotten there yet, then all of a sudden, here he is! He brought more money than he originally talked about bringing too! Now it is time to launch the ice cream flavors to the guests, everyone seems to like them a lot! Time for Penn to do his presentation, he explains what Swirtle means and then he introduces all the big names he has at his party, Wayne Newton did make it to the launch party! I really like the way Penn’s commercial came out, because he had to cut Dennis out of the video, they revealed after how they did it and used the cut piece of the video as an added bonus! Really creative presentation from Penn, this is going to be hard for Trace to beat!

Here comes Trace’s presentation, he introduces his team first, his commercial is awesome, it’s hip and it matches his background in music very well. Trace is now performing his song “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” and then Gary performs “Not Fade Away” by Buddy Holly, priceless! This is a very good presentation for Trace too! This is going to be tough, it’s going to come down to the fund raising part of the task!

The results of the final task are in, so who did the executives like better? Who raised the most money? Donald Trump is talking to each team and the first team up is Team Penn, everyone thinks that he did really well with the task, the executives, loved the name, the taste and the presentation. The only negative they had was the packaging blending with the rest of them, however it was very hard for them to find a negative. Team Trace, the executives love the star power of Gary being in the commercial, the name was more demographically friendly towards a younger crowd. However, they felt using the word “maple” in the name was too specific. Penn raised over $503,000, Trace’s total will be revealed after the break!

The winner tonight will receive $250,000 from Trump and an addition $100,000 from Walgreens! Trace raised $564,000 with $100,000 being taken off because it came in late from Tim Tebow. Trump gave all the members of the teams who didn’t raise any money through the season $20,000 for their charities. Now they are bringing Penn and Trace out on the live stage! We are getting closer to finding out who is the winner of Celebrity Apprentice 2013!! Who has the best selling ice cream? Who gets the extra $100,000? Penn sold more ice cream then Trace!

We are now talking about the craziness that is Gary Busey! He has said some crazy things over the season, actually just in general. Omarosa and her vindictiveness and the rude ways of communicating with other people. Omarosa says that she does it for television and makes it sound like she isn’t like this normally. Then all hell breaks loose and Omarosa and LaToya go at it about things that LaToya supposedly said about Michael Clarke Duncan during the show! Oh the drama! They are showing the clip of Penn presenting the check to his charity for the money raised during the ticket sales for the launch party, so touching and emotional. The other celebrities are asked who they feel should win, Marilu said she thinks Trace is the game changer, Dennis says that they both are winners.

Trace is now presenting a check to the American Red Cross, he brings his whole family to present the check to a woman named Suzy, who actually showed up to Trace’s house when it was destroyed by a house fire two years ago. This is very heart warming for him and his family to help the charity that helped his family cope with losing their house. Trace and Penn are now going to perform together, Penn apparently plays the bass, Trace is singing “Love Will” by Trace himself! I love this song and it’s really cool to see them doing this performance together!

Trace thinks that he should win because he was the Celebrity Apprentice MVP for six weeks and he feels that he had a better ice cream. Penn comes back with he’s just better and he won MVP five times but won more money for being MVP! Joan Rivers is saying she can’t pick a winner, Ivanka is praising them both but she thinks Trace won this but adds that for her it is really close! Trump brings Lil Jon up to the board room table, Trump gives Lil Jon $100,000 for his charity because Trump found out that Lil Jon’s mother recently passed away from complications of a stroke she suffered due to diabetes. Lil Jon is very emotional and everyone is giving him a standing ovation! The final decision is coming up next! Don’t go anywhere!

Is anyone else really anxious to find out who won All Star Celebrity Apprentice 2013? We are getting so close! Penn is asked if he regrets saying the nasty things about Donald after he was fired off his first season, he said he doesn’t regret telling the truth but the letter that he wrote to Donald apologizing was from the heart. The winner of All Star Celebrity Apprentice 2013 is…..Trace Adkins!!!!!!!!! Anyone else really happy about this??

We saw the firing of Lil Jon and Lisa Rinna last week on The Apprentice 2013, which led to the final task being a competition between Penn and Trace. They each had to create a new ice cream flavor for Delish ice cream and Walgreen’s. After that, shoot a promotional video for the ice cream and host an ice cream social and bring in the big name guests to raise the most money.

Both came up with some interesting ice cream flavors: Maple Macadamia Mash-Up for Trace Adkins and Vanilla & Chocolate Magic Swirtle for Penn Jillette. As we head into the final part of the task tonight, both guys are having some issues: Penn trying to edit down his video to 60 seconds, but keep all the content that he needs and Trace trying to secure the big names to bring in the big money.

Last week on The Apprentice 2013, we saw Trump immediately call back all four of the celebrities remaining and he quickly fired Lil Jon and Lisa Rinna. That left us with Trace and Penn for the final task, which was to create a new ice cream flavor for Walgreen’s, create a marketing video and throw an ice cream social to promote the new brand. Bring in the most money and create a flavor everyone loves and you win!

Going into the final night, it appears both have some positive and negatives. Penn created a video that is ten seconds too long then allowed, but has no way of cutting it down to make it 60 seconds. Trace’s video seems lame and not that impressive. They both worry about who can bring in the bigger names to raise the most money. From the previews, it appears that Penn gets Wayne Newton to appear, which could be huge. I just think Trace has had proven success in bringing in lots of money and I am picking him as the winner. If you missed The Voice this week you missed some amazing performances! Seriously, there were several lay me out on the floor, heart in million pieces, performances! I don’t know how they are going to get to a winner! This was a knock-down to ten, but they’ve got a top six…well,they may just have to give them all a record deal, This is one of my top six, from team Shakira – Sasha Allen! This week, she’s the most emotional performance of the night. Take a look!

At the end of Season 2, both L.A. Reid and Britney Spears made the announcement that they would be leaving the show. Demi Lovato was brought back for a second season and show creator and judge Simon Cowell would of course be there. We now have news on who the other two judges for The X Factor USA 2013 will be, per Simon tweet today:

“We start x factor auditions in charleston on Tuesday. The new panel will be announced Monday. This is going to be an interesting show!”

Blah, Blah, Blah, SPOILER WARNING for Scandal episode 2×22 – the season finale, “White Hats Back On.”

Remember last season’s finale!  We didn’t know who about Quinn’s former life or what was going to happen to her.  Worse, Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) had completely walked away from President Fitzgerald “Fitz” Grant (Tony Goldwyn)  - permanently.  It was an angst-filled summer.   This season Olivia and Fitz are just split until he finishes his second term as president.  Hey, it’s an improvement!

The bad news is Fitz and First lady Mellie (Bellamy Young) are back together.  Fitz has to pretend he wants Mellie in order to get her to work with him on his re-election.  Mellie, in her delusional world, easily buys that Fitz has chosen to come back to her.  She has no idea that Olivia gave him back.   Since Mellie thinks love is just pretending, I can see how she manages this.   Notice how Fitz had his eyes closed though? Who’s thighs was he imagining laying his head on, hmmm?

Were there actually any  gladiators who thought Olivia Pope and Fitz  were going to end the season with a big happily ever after? I can’t image that there’s a huge number, but just in case, here’s a basic rule of thumb: in a season two finale, the chance that the main couple of a show is going to stay together is zilch, nada, no, not gonna happen.  Check back for that in season four or five.   Not only will it make sense for the show, but by then Fitz will be a lame-duck president and none would be the wiser.  As for moving her into the White House anytime sooner, Fitz and Oltiz fans are just gonna have to dream on.

However, the nice thing about how Scandal “handles” Olitz is that it you do have episodes of actually seeing them together. That aspect is not a dream!  There are many examples of shows where the couple in question never admit their feelings or even kiss until much later.  Can you imagine being an NCIS fan, they’ve just finished season ten.  To be fair, the woman in the “couple” didn’t appear until the end of season two, so that’s, what, seven years?  Yeah, I’m fine with how Scandal is doing this!

The question most fans were concerned about was what would break Olivia and Fitz up. Would it be that tape of Olivia and Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) doing the horizontal mambo on a vertical incline?  How about the fact that Fitz straight up killed Supreme Court Justice Vera Thornton (Debra   Young) on occasion.  Talk about hypocritical!  As for killing Verna…well, if Olivia can love Huck (Guillermo Diaz) she can deal with Fitz.  The finale did not disappoint, they both forgave each other for those actions. Although, what was the deal with having this conversation about murder in The White House Oval Office! This was not the smart move guys!

If you watched the video, you hear part of what broke them up: Olivia’s realization that she couldn’t just walk out on her team – her friends.  Who reminded her of that?  David Rosen (Joshua Malina) did!   David was the big happy surprise for me in this episode. He seemingly didn’t betray Olivia after all.  Some fans suspected as much, but I’ll admit I’d lost the faith.   While David did steal the Cytron card, it was in order to catch the mole, Billy Chambers (Matt Letscher).  Well, that and clear his name of murdering that Wendy chick,  and as leverage to get his respectability and career back – with a promotion to boot!  He left Oliva a white hat – because he came to realize that while her methods weren’t always legal, her heart and reasons, were on the side of “good.”  Along with the hat was a recording of Billy Cyrus incriminating himself for a bunch of crimes.   David Rosen has politically grown up.  The tape starts out with David talking about his concern for his friends.  It’s these things that send her into Fitz’s office.  There is a greater good than just them being together – and Olivia is always about the greater good – she’d just forgotten it for a bit.

Now that David has learned how to play the political game and let go of his black and white thinking  of right and wrong,  I wonder what it will mean for him and Abby (Darby Stanchfield) next season….  However, David’s new savvy makes me suspect that David still has the Cytron card.  It looked to me that when he made the fake card for Billy Chambers, that he could have made several fake cards.   Being that he now has no problem using leverage, Why would he hand that kind of leverage over? Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry)worked hard to smash that card to bits – which should have been done in the first place. (Why was there one left over to begin with? Who’s idea was that…)  All of his effort makes me think that the problem’s not going away that easily. Especially because, like Billy, no one checked to see if anything was actually on the card David turned over.  While  David may not be planning on  using the card, (more on this later) its existence leaves open the potential for it to be found and used  against Fitz and company by someone else.  Sally Langston (Kate Burton) maybe?

Now, about this thing of Billy being the Mole,  I’m still not convinced.  Billy says he took out CIA Director Orsbon – but Jake said he did it – and our Chief B613 (Joe Morton) thanked him for doing an excellent job – again.  There’s more to look at here – someone has to be lying.  Sally Langston’s access codes couldn’t have gotten Billy that CIA information on the deep cover spies.  Either there’s a major plot hole, or  Billy is not Albatross.  He’s still a bad guy though, so it’s nice to see him being put away.

I’ve got to discuss HuckberryQuinn!   Huck was all set to torture Billy to find out where the Cytron card was, but he couldn’t do it.  It was too traumatizing.  Quinn understood though.

Watching that scene again, I was reminded of how much I love the work Guillermo Diaz and Bellamy Young do together.  They are both great actors who are able to take their characters extreme woundedness and use it to build a beautiful, but warped, on-screen bond.  I mean, it is pretty weird.  Somehow, I don’t think songs like, “That’s What Friends Are For” were written thinking about taking over a pal’s torture job.  Still, Quinn being the good friend and trainee as she’s been – she totally has Huck’s back!

Where’s the damn Cytron card, Bill-lee!

I know it’s wrong, but watching Quinn with that drill was one of my favorite scenes!  Not that I was surprised that Quinn took the drill and had at Billy, but Katie Lowes just made Quinn so euphoric I couldn’t help but think – “You go, Quinn!”  My next thought was, “Hollis Doyle (Gregg Henry), you had better behave in season three!”

The sad part is that Huck has spent all this time training Quinn to be like him…only for him to wish he hadn’t, because he can’t stand that part of himself anymore.  Just watching her torture Billy sent him back to curling up in his corner.   Now that Huck remembers having a family…that part of his life is worse than a nightmare or having regret.  What’s going to happen with our HuckleberryQuinn?  Does he hate her now?  Gosh, I hope not?  Quinn adores him!  Earlier in the episode Huck told Olivia he was afraid Quinn was like him?  I gotta say, Huck, how is this news?   He’s known this since he first gave her that knife to plunge into dead Wendy’s heart – so he could get fresh blood.  The question for Huck to decide is if he’s Henry Higgins or Dr. Frankenstein.

As for Cyrus Beene, he had the most convenient heart attack ever – got him his husband back!  Not that either of them were being all that honest.  Watch this sweet, but funny scene.

James Novak (Dan Bucatinsky) do you really think you are fooling your husband one bit with that “innocent” question?  As for Cyrus, he was basically like, “I’m gonna play dumb and use this to my advantage.” Puppet, meet the puppetmaster.

I guess the big shocking reveal was supposed to be that the head of B613 is Olivia’s father.  Since I basically thought the whole Dark Vader Daddy thing was going on – as many people did – this wasn’t shocking.  It does open a bunch of questions.  What is the deal with Olivia and her father?  When did she learn about what her father does?  Did he set her up to be this fixer? She called him “Dad” which means at the very least, as some point early on she had a relationship with him.  Mr. no wife, no kids, may have had a wife and kids!  (Maybe that’s why he knows firsthand that’s it’s a bad idea.)  I am insanely curious about this storyline, since we’ve had no background on Olivia at all!

The questions about Chief B613 and Olivia are endless!  How far back does this B613 operation go?  Does Cyrus know that Chief B613 is Olivia’s father, or was he just ordered to keep an eye on her? Which came first, Cyrus and Olivia’s friendship, or Cyrus being ordered to keep tabs.  Did Olivia get that deal for Huck or did her dad set it up?  Is she going to try and help Jake and Charlie (George Newbern)? Does Huck know her father is?  Why was her father trying to kill her. (Yeah, NO boundaries, this guy.) Was he trying to kill Olivia?  Remember, one of things B613 does it tranquilize their victims and take them away to be tortured.  We never saw the gun the B613 girl was going to shoot Olivia with.   It could be that Daddy Dearest just wanted to grab his daughter and have a talk with her…or put her in a hole until she agreed to give up Fitz…

Instead, poor Jake is in the hole.  I know, it’s Olivia and Fitz forever, but, come on, you’ve got to give the guy some credit. Falling for someone who’s in love with someone else really isn’t any fun – and it seems he really does love her.  He knew what saving Olivia would mean for him – and he did it anyway.  When Olivia realizes Jake is B613, she knows exactly what Jake’s been doing for her, and that saving her will more than likely cost him his life.  She loves Fitz, but it’s not like she didn’t care about Jake. It’s a great scene between Kerry Washington and Scott Foley, here’s a part of it:

It may have been Jake’s mission to watch and seduce Olivia, but it’s clear he really did fall for her, no matter what he says. Olivia realizes it too. If Jake had been following orders, she’d already be dead.

So, we’ve got Jake in the hole, and Olivia in the limo with her dad being whisked away from the mob of reporters outside of her apartment. This leads to the second the big question for season three’s opening: who outed Olivia as being the President’s mistress?

Olivia really thought she had all of this stuff handled.  She broke up with Fitz, which Jake had suggested she needed to do if she wanted B613 (her Dad) to stop trying to kill her. Fitz was back with Mellie, and she’d go back to solving other people’s problems until he was no longer president.  David Rosen had his life back, Defiance was dead, what could go wrong?

Honestly, Olivia Pope on top of her game would have known it wouldn’t be so easy and simple. She’s done too much and know too much. However she’s been in Fitz’s optimistic aura a bit too long. Seriously, all this pretending that marrying the President wouldn’t be a problem? Olivia, Honey – who’s your Daddy?

Anyway, the list of suspects for outing Olivia as Fitz’s mistress is going to turn season three into yet another game of “Clue.” The obvious guess is that Mellie insisted on it as a condition to help Fitz run – she wanted to destroy her rival. If that’s the case feel sorry for Mellie now, because Olivia’s Olivia’s Daddy is the head of B613.  While he may not have wanted his daughter sleeping with Fitz – having her trashed in the press likely wasn’t his plan either. Why? For what could be the real reason he doesn’t want his daughter with the president.  If Olivia became first lady, or was even associated with Fitz in a romantic manner, what’s the first thing the press is going to do? Start looking into Olivia’s past, including her parents. This is a real headache and problem if your dad is the head of a top secret CIA agency that breaks every US treaty and law on the books.  When the dead reporters started piling up, people would really start asking questions!  You certainly can’t have the American people, and the rest of the world knowing about B613,  That is information that could really destroy the Republic.  Oh, Mellie! They could kill you, make it look like a suicide and tell the world Fitz was trying to hide the fact that you’d developed paranoid schizophrenia.  Can you imagine the irony of Olivia having to plead for Mellie’s life?

My second suspect is Cyrus.  You know the man is a slash and burn kind of guy.  He had many incentives to want this thing with with Olivia and Fitz to be over.  Not only was Chief B613 breathing down his neck, but as far as he’s concerned the only way Fitz is going to win a second term is with Mellie by her side.   He needed Olivia’s relationship with Fitz neutralized and this would certainly destroy the plan that he knew Fitz and Olivia had to sell Olivia to the American people.   Earlier he went for the jugular on this: told Olivia about Fitz being a murderer, and Fitz about her and Jake.  When something is in  his best interest, Just like Chief B613, Cyrus doesn’t have any boundaries.  Just to be fair though, what sent Cyrus over the edge and pulling out the big guns what not the threats from Chief B613, it was the attack on Olivia.  He realized that B613 would have no problem killing her.  Jeff Perry gives another one of his “give the man an Emmy” performances as he realizes Olivia and Fitz are hell-bent on being together – even if it kills them.  I swear, if he isn’t nominated this year I think there should be a gladiator boycott of watching that award ceremony.)  The line of the night is totally his:

“Highly trained Black Ops assassins broke into your home and tried to kill you. Instead of that making you, ah, run towards reason, instead of the possibility of death making you decide that maybe it’s better to be single, you have decided that the killers were merely firing heart-shaped bullets made of bubbles and candy, that signify that you and your boyfriend Fitzy are MFEO – Made for each other!?”

He is so sincerely mad – and afraid – but it is so funny!  Would Chief B613 have Cyrus killed for this? Maybe not, since he knows Cyrus was just trying to split up Olivia and Fitz.  Besides, Cyrus is still of use to him.  Mellie is useless.

Third on my list – David Rosen.  Sure, he says all’s forgiven, but he may still have that Cytron card.  Olivia humiliated him. Then there’s that recording from Billy, the one starting with, “They’re my friends” but ending with Billy ranting about the ways Olivia destroyed his life and destroys lives.  Is that a subtle warning to Olivia? David could have gotten really devious in the last few months.  I’m hoping it isn’t David, I really am – but I can’t rule out the possibility.

Suspect four is Harrison (Columbus Short). I know, he would never betray Olivia like that.  Unless he thought Olivia was giving up being a gladiator to be with Fitz.  He might do anything to stop that.   Not out of spite, but because he thinks it’s a huge mistake that could get her killed.  He watched Olivia break up Abby and David for the good of Pope and Associates – it’s possible he took a page out of Olivia’s playbook.

My last suspect is Olivia’s dad.  If he has other reasons to want to keep Olivia away from Fitz beyond the publicity issue, this move would certainly do it.

A less pressing question is  what the Huck is going to happen with Huck!  I don’t know, he seems close to some kind of psychotic break.  I can see it now: season three Huck will run away to become a Hari Krishna – leaving Quinn to clean up all the dead bodies by herself.  Until one day he sees catches Charlie with his wife.  Huck kills Charlie, realizes that murder is just part of  who he is, and calls Quinn!

Yeah, I know, dream on!  I’m going to have to because Scandal season three isn’t until September!

This was a great second season for Scandal - I’m so happy the show has recruited so many more gladiators to it’s Scandalous stories!  The super-talented cast has been fabulous with  fans and live tweeting every week –  gladiators are a lucky bunch!  For my final Scandal season two wrap-up, I’m going to leave you with Amanda Brown from season three of The Voice, doing her version of Aerosmith’s “Dream On.”  If  ”White Hat’s Back On” had a theme song – this would be it.  See you for the September premiere of Scandal season three!
