Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg would be one person you’d think would use good security to protect social media accounts. Apparently,even billionaire tech entrepreneurs get hacked.

Facebook Inc.’s first “security tip” for users is, “Don’t use your Facebook password anywhere else online.”

But, its founder did not heed that advice.

Mr. Zuckerberg’s Twitter Inc. and Pinterest Inc. accounts were taken over on Sunday because he reused a password: “dadada”. The password had appeared last month in a database of more than 100 million usernames and passwords stolen in 2012 from LinkedIn Corp. Mr. Zuckerberg appears to have reused “dadada” to log into Twitter and Pinterest, allowing hackers to take over those accounts.

The hacker group OurMine took responsibility, and claimed they were just trying to raise awareness.

Email Address Hack

For email address hack, all a hacker needs to do is know your name and he will be conveniently shown your email address at your Facebook profile. Phishing

A new trend amongst phishers is creating Facebook look-a-like widgets for stealing user's login credentials.

Key logging through Keyloggers

Keylogger is a type of computer virus that tracks key strokes. Keyloggers can be installed remotely on a computer system by a cracker to record all the activity that is going on the victim's computer. Keylogging gets more easy if the hacker has physical access to the victim's computer.

Are you looking for ways to protect your privacy while browsing the web? Are you trying to learn how to use Tor, the browser that anonymize your Internet traffic? Are you interested in ditching Windows for something that’s more privacy-friendly? The good news is that there are ways to do that. The bad news is that this sort of online behavior apparently triggers NSA spying, especially if you’re a foreigner.

A report from German site Tagesshau reveals that the NSA has a computer system dedicated to accessing Tor called XKeyscore. The NSA apparently digs for “deep-packet inspection” Internet users located outside of U.S., Canada, the U.K. and other countries that comprise the Five Eyes countries that work with the NSA on surveillance programs.

Hating Windows is apparently another infraction that will get you on the short list, especially if you’re looking to install the Tails operating system, which is generally used by people looking to guard their privacy.

Reporting on Tagesshau’s findings, Boing Boing speculates that the NSA and its partners might be using these simple mass surveillance spying practices to divide Internet users into two principal categories: Those who don’t care about guarding their privacy online, and those who use services like Tor, Tails and others.

It appears that even looking for information about Tor and Tails – and potentially reading this post – will get you fingerprinted.

The NSA’s intention here was to separate the sheep from the goats – to split the entire population of the Internet into ‘people who have the technical know-how to be private’ and ‘people who don’t’ and then capture all the communications from the first group,” the site continues.

It’s believed that details about this NSA operation may come from a second source other than Snowden, although it’s not clear who that person is.

Even though it might sound scary to the regular user looking for online data protection, the NSA’s thinking isn’t illogical. It makes perfect sense to want to know who’s looking to hide their online activity behind things like Tor and Tails because some of the people who do it are indeed up to no good. They’re not reporters looking to protect their sources, and they’re not living in oppressed countries. Some of them are the bad guys the NSA is trying to catch, and bad guys will almost certainly want to protect all online activity with the help of these encrypted technologies.

The investigation discloses the following:

Two servers in Germany - in Berlin and Nuremberg - are under surveillance by the NSA.

Merely searching the web for the privacy-enhancing software tools outlined in the XKeyscore rules causes the NSA to mark and track the IP address of the person doing the search. Not only are German privacy software users tracked, but the source code shows that privacy software users worldwide are tracked by the NSA.

Among the NSA's targets is the Tor network funded primarily by the US government to aid democracy advocates in authoritarian states.

The XKeyscore rules reveal that the NSA tracks all connections to a server that hosts part of an anonymous email service at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It also records details about visits to a popular internet journal for Linux operating system users called "the Linux Journal - the Original Magazine of the Linux Community", and calls it
an "extremist forum".

Mirror's Edge Catalyst a reboot of Mirrors Edge.The game is set in a pristine city, ruled by a ruthless Conglomerate. Faith, a skilled Runner reluctantly drawn into an anti-Conglomerate struggle.The anti-Conglomeratestruggle is lead by a group called the “Black November”.Through her journey, Faith explores every corner of the city, from the highest, most pristine skyscrapers, to the dark and dingy tunnels that underlie the city. Players must master the environment, using their momentum and timing their combat to fight the oppressiveness of the ruling elite, uncovering the dark secrets behind the city’s beautiful facade.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst's pace picks up quite well after stumbling at the opening. There's a prolonged cut-scene and some annoying banter along with some necessary tutorialisation that teaches you the basics. These include learning how to kick guards into railings, run across many a gap, and simply come to terms with the game world. Some of these early segments aren't clearly explained and you will probably fail them a couple of times before you realise what's needed of you, such as an early mission wherein you have to maintain your momentum while running and hitting foes in your way to a location to drop off a delivery.

But once that's over, things pick up quite a bit. The story barely drops a beat and there's always something going on. What's more is that you'll end up exploring most areas of Glass by the time you're done, which allays our early thoughts that runner vision - the game's navigation feature - would lead you on the straight and narrow, with little else. There's a steady stream of unlockable skills as you take on story missions such as being able to turn quickly (or quickturn as its called) or swing between gigantic chasms. Not only does it provide incentive to complete the game's narrative-based levels, but it also introduces you to several nuances as you play along.

The game has a basic combat system.You can dodge incoming strikes, move backwards to avoid getting hit, and use heavy and light attacks to even the odds. Furthermore, you can use your own momentum as well, what with the force of springboarding off a ledge to hit a security guard allowing you to do more damage. Despite a somewhat minimal set of options, it's interesting how varied combat can get thanks to AI that's responsive to every move. If you keep mashing the same buttons, you'll soon realise that your attacks are blocked or countered, and that you'll be greeted by a game over screen. If you want to get past most of Mirror's Edge: Catalyst's encounters, varying your approach is most helpful.

In my opinion the city of Glass itself is the biggest let down in the game. Of course it would be unfair to expect anything along the lines of The Witcher 3 or Grand Theft Auto V in terms of atmosphere, but it doesn't even come close to the multiple entries in the Assassin's Creed or Far Cry franchises. You'll sabotage surveillance, steal computer chips, and collect glowing orbs of intel known as gridleaks, but it feels devoid of life. This ensures the most fun you'll have is in the story missions rather than exploring Glass and the secrets it holds.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst isn't a perfect return of the 2008 cult classic as many expected.But, if you're just looking for a free-running romp through a city ruled by shady corporations backed up by slick controls and navigation, you wont be disappointed.

Apple MacBook Pro will feature OLED touch bar panel

A week ago, one well-placed analyst said Apple would launch a MacBook Pro in late 2016 with a touch-enabled OLED panel to replace the function keys at the top of the keyboard. Now, leaked images appear to back those claims. In addition, they show that Apple may be planning to eradicate all connectors on its top-of-the-line laptop except for USB-C ports.

The images were obtained by Cult of Mac and show the aluminum chassis of a laptop. The photos are attributed to an anonymous source who claims to work for one of Apple's manufacturing partners in China. The images show a space at the top of the keyboard where an OLED panel could be placed, with KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo saying in a research note last week that the move could be used to allow Apple to bring its Touch ID fingerprint sensor to its MacBook range.
The speakers on the current model that sit at the back of the keyboard would need to be relocated, as images of the new model show speaker grilles at the side.

The images also show just four USB ports — presumably all of which will be USB Type C — meaning Apple would be removing the MagSafe connector for charging, SD card slot, HDMI connector and Thunderbolt ports. Apple has already replaced all ports on its 12-inch MacBook with USB-C, so it wouldn't be a surprise to continue the trend on its bigger MacBook.

It is hard to tell from the images the size and weight of the 2016 version of the MacBook Pro, but Kuo has said the new design would be thinner or lighter than the current model, thanks to a new technique to create metal injection molded hinges.

Fifty Russian Hackers Arrested for Stealing $25.5M

Russia has arrested 50 people accused of using malware to steal more than 1.7bn roubles ($25m; £18m).The gang allegedly seeded websites with malware that gave them access to victims' PCs and, from there, their bank accounts.

Technical tricks used by the hackers made it hard for security software to spot the malicious code once it had compromised a machine.It is believed to be the largest ever arrest of hackers in Russia.

The Federal Security Service (FSB) — alongside Interior Ministry and National Guard troops — made arrests in 15 regions across the country.

"As a result of [house] searches a large quantity of computer equipment was confiscated along with communications gear, bank cards in false names, and also financial documents and significant amounts of cash confirming the illegal nature of their activity," the FSB said.

The gang is believed to have stolen cash using a malicious trojan called Lurk that it hid on some of Russia's most popular websites.

Anyone visiting a website booby-trapped with Lurk would be infected with the malware. Once on a victim's PC, the malware then downloaded more software modules, giving the cyber thieves remote access to the machine.

This was used to steal login names and passwords for online bank accounts. In particular, they targeted accounts held at Sberbank - one of Russia's largest banks.

"Lurk started attacking banks one-and-a-half years ago; before then its malicious program targeted various enterprise and consumer systems," said Ruslan Stoyanov, head of computer incident investigation at Kaspersky Lab that helped uncover the gang's activities.

Mr Stoyanov said Kaspersky helped police profile the gang's network of computers and servers used to grab cash, and from that information they were able to trace the individuals involved.

The arrests helped to thwart pending money transfers that would have netted the group a further 2.3bn roubles, the FSB said.

Microsoft wants Windows to open into mixed reality !!!

The US technology giant on Wednesday announced that Windows software, already powering a wide range of devices including HoloLens :augmented reality head gear is open to partners interested in building devices for "mixed reality" experiences. ie, Devices built on the Windows platform will be inter operable, meaning that someone wearing HTC Vive virtual reality gear would be able to virtually visit and collaborate with someone using HoloLens virtual reality.

The list of partners already working with Microsoft includes HTC, Lenovo, Asus, and HP.

Microsoft said it built HoloLens to showcase the potential for the technology, which is based on the same Windows operating system that powers computers, smartphones, Xbox consoles and more.

Sharing the Windows platform will mean that augmented or virtual reality gear from various manufacturers will be able to work with one another, the same way Windows computers do.

"We are bringing the software that lights up HoloLens to the entire ecosystem of mixed reality devices—and inviting partners to join us in this platform," said Microsoft spokesman Greg Sullivan

While virtual reality devices such as those from Facebook-owned Oculus and Sony's PlayStation unit which immerse users in fantasy worlds, HoloLens "augments" reality by overlaying holograms on the real world in view.

Microsoft would not disclose details regarding how it will make money from the move. But it is expected to pursue the kinds of licensing deals that negotiates with companies that make Windows-powered computers.

Creating a common platform for a wide range of companies to create and market mixed reality gear promises to bring down prices for altered reality gear while enriching variety in the marketplace.

Microsoft in March began its first shipments of its HoloLens to application developers, staking its place in what is expected to be an emerging computing platform.

At a recent Microsoft developer's conference, the company showed some of the possibilities for HoloLens—such as giving users a view of Mars, that up to now could only be seen by space vehicles, and an inside view of the brain seen by medical specialists aiming to deal with a cerebral tumor.

Aiming to encourage new applications for the device, Microsoft noted that developers can create "new mixed reality" with holograms to enable users to see and experience things in new ways.

The holographic capabilities in the Microsoft gear can open doors for developers to augment tasks from complex surgery to motorcycle design, according to the company.

Marketers predict virtual headsets will soon top wish lists for kids and young adults from Silicon Valley to Hong Kong. But some analysts say virtual reality will be eclipsed by augmented reality within a few years.

Who or what is defining your self-identity?

Our self-identities, that is, how we define and see ourselves as unique individuals, play a vital role in who we are and the direction that our lives take. The self-identity encompasses the totality of knowledge and understanding that we gain about ourselves as we develop including our personalities, aptitudes and capabilities, intellectual and physical attributes, interests, and relationships.

We gain our self-identities in two ways. First, as we develop self-awareness, we observe and evaluate our thoughts, feelings, and behavior based on past experience, current needs, and future goals. We also look outward to the world in which we live, for example, social, academic, and physical, for feedback that also shapes our self-identities. Because we are fundamentally social beings and an essential part of our development involves finding our place in the social and cultural context in which we live, feedback from that social world plays a significant role in the evolution of our self-identities.

Because our social worlds have expanded dramatically in the last decade, from families, friends, neighborhoods, and schools to an almost-limitless universe of people due to the proliferation of the Internet and social media, it isn't difficult to see how external forces may now be gaining a disproportionate influence over our self-identities compared to previous generations. And these social influences, accelerated by the recent explosion of technology, is shaping our self-identities in ways in which most of us aren't the least bit aware.

One of the most powerful ways in which technology is altering self-identity is through the shift from being internally to externally driven. Yes, as I just described, social factors have always had an impact on the formation of self-identity, but they had been, up until recently, partners of sorts with our own internal contributors to self-identity. But now the sheer ubiquity and force of the latest technological advances has taken that influence and turned its volume up to a deafening roar.

In previous generations, most of the social forces that influenced our self-identities were positive; parents, peers, schools, communities, extracurricular activities, even the media sent mostly healthy messages about who we were and how we should perceive ourselves. Yes, there were bad influences, but they were far outweighed by those that were beneficial. These forces acted mostly as a mirror reflecting back on us what we saw in ourselves, resulting in affirmation rather than change in our self-identities.

But now, the pendulum has swung to the other extremes in a social world where the profit motive rules and healthy influences are mostly drowned out by the cacophony of the latest technology. The self-identities of this generation of young people and, in fact, anyone who is deeply immersed in popular culture and media, are now shaped by external forces in two ways.

First, popular culture, through both "old-school" and the latest media, no longer holds a mirror to reflect our self-identities. Nor does it provide feedback about how grounded our self-identities are in the reality of our lives. Instead, popular culture manufactures "portraits" of who it wants us to be. Tapping into our most basic needs to feel good about themselves, accepted, and attractive, popular culture tells us what we should believe about ourselves. The problem is that the self-identity that is shaped by popular culture serves its own best interests rather than what is best for us. Additionally, self-identity is no longer self-identity, meaning derived from the self, but rather is an identity projected onto us by popular culture and in no way an accurate reflection of who we really are.

Second, social media has caused us to shift away from expressing our self-identities and toward constructing facades based on the answers to these questions, "How will others look at me?" and "How can I ensure that others view me positively?" The goal for many now in their use of social media becomes how they can curry acceptance, popularity, status, and, by extension, self-esteem through their profiles and postings. Self-awareness and self-expression give way to impression management and self-promotion. As the writer Christine Rosen observed in her 2007 article in The New Atlantis, "Does this technology, with its constant demands to collect (friends and status), and perform (by marketing ourselves), in some ways undermine our ability to attain what it promises-a surer sense of who we are and where we belong? The Delphic oracle's guidance was know thyself. Today, in the world of online social networks, the oracle's advice might be show thyself."

We come to see our identities as those we would like to have or that we want people to see rather than who we really are. We then feel compelled to promote and market these identities through social media. The line between person and persona, private and public self become blurred or erased completely and the so-called self-identity becomes a means of our acceptance and status.

Paradoxically, in striving for approval by our social world writ large through technology and in seeking uniqueness that enables us to stand out in the densely populated cyber world, we unwittingly sacrifice our true self-identities and shape our identities to conform to what the digital world views as acceptable identity. And, in doing so, we relinquish the specialness that we hold so dear. Notes Christine Rosen, "Indeed, this is one of the characteristics of MySpace [obviously before Facebook took off]...it is an overwhelmingly dull sea of monotonous uniqueness, of conventional individuality, of distinctive sameness."

There are two really sad things about this unintended consequence of the use of these emerging technologies. First, most people have no idea of the dramatic changes that are occurring slowly yet inexorably within them (just as a frog doesn't sense it is going to die if placed in water that is heated slowly). Second, this shift in identity, from internally derived to externally driven, can't be good for us as (formerly unique?) individuals nor for us as a (formerly vital?) society.

Facebook has announced the development of a new artificial intelligence(AI) that can analyse what people are writing about in posts with near-human accuracy across 20 languages. It can automatically pick out hate speech from status updates that merely contain controversial terms, it could prevent a human from ever suffering the harassment and having to report it manually.Facebook already says that its AI systems report more offensive photos than humans on its social network.

The applications of 'Deep Text' are big! Facebook knows what your status update is about, it can show it to people who care about that topic. If it understands the difference between “I just got out of the taxi” and “I need a ride” messages, it can ask if you want an Uber. If it detects that you’re trying to sell something in a status update, it can automatically format post with the price and item details. And if Facebook can determine what kinds of comments on celebrities’ posts are interesting and not just “OH MY GOSH I LOVE YOU”, it can surface ones you’ll actually want to read.

Facebook explains that “to get closer to how humans understand text, we need to teach the computer to understand things like slang and word-sense disambiguation. As an example, if someone says, “I like blackberry,” does that mean the fruit or the device?"

Of course, the privacy implications might rattle some people. Facebook is now highlighting that it scans the content of your private messages — something that made Facebook the target of a class-action lawsuit in the past.But I feel that the advantages of 'Deep Text' outweigh the concerns about privacy.

With 'DeepText' and its other image recognition AIs, Facebook could make huge improvements in how it routes content from authors to viewers. That could give it a leg-up over other social networks like Snapchat or Twitter without the know-how or product design to aggressively filter and suggest what people see.

The gap between the AI haves and have-nots is widening. If every News Feed post looks interesting, you’ll spend more time on Facebook, you’ll share more text there, DeepText will get smarter, and the Facebook AI feedback wheel will spin faster and faster towards becoming the perfect content recommendation engine.

Operation Darknet ; Vigilante Hackers Wage War on Underground Kiddie Porn

Operation Darknet (also known as #OpDarknet) is the code name for a series of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks carried out by Anonymous on Lolita City, a child pornography sharing website that is accessible in anonymity via The Tor Project’s encrypted service.

This campaign is not to be confused with two earlier Anonymous operations that have shared the same name, one from January 2010 to provide a solution to the censorship threatened by the ACTA (Anti-Counterfeit Trade Agreement) and another initiative from April 2011 to inform Anonymous members to start using I2P to protect their anonymity.

Background

The operation began in early October 2011 with a mission to expose the underground pedophile community known as “Lolita City”. The website was built via Tor, a software that allows users to host and browse websites anonymously. It is built to protect the anonymity of Internet users under regimes that do not allow free internet access, The program has seen its use in least four other forum communities accused of hosting child porn, as well as a drug marketplace known as “Silk Road” where users could buy illegal drugs with Bitcoins.

Notable Developments
October 14th – 15th: PasteBin Release

The major events of the Operation took place between October 14th and 15th, as archived in a Pastebin document. On October 14th, Anonymous hackers began their mission by removing links to pornographic images and videos on the Hidden Wiki, located on Tor’s Hidden Service Protocol. Shortly after the links returned online, the site became inaccessible entirety, presumably as a result of DDoS attack initiated by the group.

October 15th: Target Freedom Hostin

Following the initial attack, Anonymous members found out nearly all of the pornography had the Freedom Hosting digital fingerprint and thus issued the host a warning to remove the content from its server at 9 p.m.

Freedom Hosting refused to comply and two and a half hours later, Anonymous completely shut down Freedom’s services with DDoS attacks that created a 1GB SQL and 100,000 ASCII files of Guy Fawkes masks every five minutes.

Around 5 p.m. (CST) the next day, Freedom was able to restore service completely via backup servers. Anonymous issued several additional warnings to the company, giving them 3 hours before taking down the server again, this time using an attack codenamed “Chris Hanson,” which uploaded episodes of “To Catch a Predator” labeled as “CP” on to the site.

October 17th: Anonymous Releases Communique

On October 17th, YouTuber Become Anonymous uploaded a video with the Anonymous manifesto, explaining the motivations behind Operation Darknet and its future plans.

October 18th: Userbase Exposed

On October 18th, Anonymous released the names of the 1589 users of Lolita City via PasteBin, including their username, volume of images uploaded, and age of the account. They invited Interpol and the FBI to investigate the records further.

October 20th – 24th: News Media Coverage

News of the operation spread quickly, with the earliest news story appearing on the Examiner on October 20th, Gawker on the 21st, the Huffington Post and PC World on the 22nd, and Geekosystem on the 23rd. The Examiner story was shared on Reddit on October 22nd, where it received 2475 points in two days.

By October 24th, the news had reached the Wall Street Journal, Information Week, and the BBC. Techie Buzz also published an interview with a user named “arson” in the #OpDarknet IRC channel. Arson stated that their mission was only to take down illegal materials and the operation was not triggered by any particular event:

We vowed to fight for the defenseless, there is none more defenseless than innocent children being exploited.

November 2nd: Final Release

The last official PasteBin communique from #OpDarknet was uploaded on November 2nd, 2011. They stated that the whole plan behind the operation was not to take down Tor or the darknet in general, but specifically to attack the CP sharing occurring on these sites. It revealed “The Honey Pawt,” a modified TorButton for Firefox, which, when used, would log users information if they tried to access the Hard Candy wiki or Lolita City.

On October 27th, Operation Paw Printing went into effect for 24 hours, marking the end of the DDoS attacks on The Hidden Wiki and implementation of the modified TorButton, which was only available on the Hard Candy page. When a user of HC updated the button, their IP information was logged. Over the course of the day, 190 unique users and IP addresses were logged, mapped out below.

The PasteBin document noted that November 5th, 2011, Guy Fawkes Day, would mark the end of the Operation and Anonymous would be “sailing away for another Lulz.”

Step 6: Open your device(Pendrive,memory card etc). You would see both your original files and shortcut files.

Delete all the shortcut and unknown files.

Copy your original files and folders to another drive.

Step 7: Finally format the Pen drive or Memory card.

You have successfully removed shortcut virus from pendrive and recovered the infected files in the device.

Tips to protect your pen drive from Virus

Keep your system up to date with the latest antivirus.

Update your antivirus program at regularly.

Do not ever open the shortcut or virus file with the extension filename.lnk. It could badly harm your computer and could infect your other removable devices too.

Requirements:

Wireless card (support promiscuous mode)

Access point with WPA2 and WPS enables

Linux installed PC(ubuntu,kali,mint,etc).

STEP 1:Open our terminal (CTRL+ALT+T) and type airmon-ng (view tips and tricks how to create keyboard shortcut on kali linux)
this command will lists our wireless card that attached with our system.

STEP 2: The next step we need to stop our wireless monitor mode by running airmon-ng stop wlan0

STEP 3: Now we ready to capture the wireless traffic around us. By running airodump-ng wlan0 our wireless interface will start capturing the data.

MB: Maximum speed supported by the AP. If MB = 11, it's 802.11b, if MB = 22 it's 802.11b+ and higher rates are 802.11g.
ENC: Encryption algorithm in use.
CIPHER: The cipher detected. TKIP is typically used with WPA and CCMP is typically used with WPA2.
AUTH: The authentication protocol used.
ESSID: Shows the wireless network name. The so-called “SSID”, which can be empty if SSID hiding is activated.

STEP 4: From the step 3 above, we can find access point with encryption algorithm WPA2 and note the AP channel number. Now we will find out whether target AP has WPS enabled or not wash -i wlan0 -c 8 -C -s

If the WPS Locked status is No, then we ready to crack and move to step 5.

STEP 5: The last step is cracking the WPA2 password using reaver.
reaver -i <your_interface> -b <wi-fi victim MAC address> –fail-wait=360

Because we already get the information from step 3 above, so my command look like this:
reaver -i wlan0 -b E0:05:C5:5A:26:94 –fail-wait=360.

it took about 5 hours to crack 19 characters WPA2 password from my Kali virtualBox, but it depend with our hardware and wireless card.

Way 2: Turn on Task Manager from Quick Access Menu.

Right-tap the lower-left corner to open the menu, and then select Task Manager on it.

Way 3: Open Task Manager in Start Menu.

Step 1: Tap the bottom-left Start button and choose All Apps in the menu.

Step 2: Open the Windows System folder.

In this post I will show you the steps to disable automatic updates in windows 10 with detailed description and screenshots.

In older versions of windows like windows XP/vista/7/8/8.1,it was really easy to disable windows updates from downloading automatically. The option is easily accessible from control panel on older version of windows (see the image below).

But unfortunately Windows update option is not available in windows 10 control panel(see the image below).

There are two methods to disable automatic updates in windows 10,

1.Disable for metered connections only.

2.Disable automatic update for all typed of connections in registry settings.

1.Disable for metered connections

So, if you don’t want Windows 10 automatically downloading updates on your home network connection, just set it as a metered connection. Windows 10 will automatically download updates when you connect your device to a non-metered network, or when you disable metered connection in pc settings. And yes, Windows will remember this setting for each individual network, so you can disconnect from that network and reconnect all you like.

STEPS

1.Open the Settings app, select Network & Internet, scroll down, and select “Advanced options” below the list of Wi-Fi networks. Enable the “Set as metered connection” option.

note:This option only affects the Wi-Fi network you’re currently connected to, but Windows will remember this setting for each individual Wi-Fi network.

After enabling this option, Windows Update will say “Updates are available. We’ll download the updates as soon as you connect to Wi-Fi, or you can download the updates using your data connection (charges may apply.)”

By marking a connection as metered, you’ve tricked Windows into thinking it’s a mobile data connection — for example, you might be tethering your PC to your smartphone. You can click the Download button to download and install updates at your leisure.

2.Disable automatic update for all typed of connections in registry settings.

There’s actually an option that will let you choose how updates are installed on your own schedule, but it’s buried in Group Policy. Only Professional, Enterprise, and Education editions of Windows 10 have access to the Group Policy editor.

STEPS

1. To access the group policy editor, press Windows Key + R, type in the following line into the Run dialog, and press Enter:

gpedit.msc

2.Select Administrative templates located at the left bottom of the group policy editor window.

3.Navigate to system folder and click on it.

4. Now double click on windows automatic updates

5.Select “enabled” and click ok button.

If you enable this setting, it prohibits Windows from searching for updates.

If you disable or do not configure it, Windows searches for updates and automatically downloads them.

Hide hard disk or partition inside windows(XP/VISTA/7/8/8.1/10) without using any software or application

note:You should first sign in using an administrative account for doing this.

STEP 1: Press window key + R or select Run from start menu to launch the Run window.

STEP 2: Type in diskmgmt.msc and press enter key/ok button.

STEP 3 : The disk management windows opens.

STEP 4 : Right click on the partition/local disk to be hidden and select change drive letter and paths

STEP 5 : On the pop-up windows click remove button and then click ok

Now u can see that no label is displayed on your drive.

The drive will not be visible in windows explorer ,this PC/My computer etc. This is the safest way of hiding a whole partition/local disk since there is no data loss or fragmentation in this method.

The partition can be made visible by following steps 1 to 4 and then in the pop-up windows click add . Then click ok in the new popup window.

Now you can see that the drive letter or label reappears.

The partition will reappear in explorer, my computer etc.

Your doctor can prescribe a pair of eyeglasses just for viewing the computer screen well. If necessary, wear the appropriate corrective lenses while at the computer.

(6) Talk to your doc.

Have a comprehensive eye exam by a VSP doctor. During your eye exam, your eye doctor can check for more than just computer vision problems. She’ll look for signs of health conditions like diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. It’s an important part of your overall health routine.

Go to starcon.net.kp and you'll find a very familiar looking website. It's called "Best Korea's Social Network" and the homepage has a thin blue banner at the top with a search field for "people, #hashtags, !groups." etc.

After you register for an account, you can upload a cover photo and profile picture, find friends and message them, post a status message and scroll through a News Feed.

The site has already attracted a number of curious Internet surfers to sign up, but there isn’t much to see. It’s devoid of content except for a few messages users outside of North Korea are posting.

North Korea internet laws are notoriously strict. The vast majority of citizens are banned from using the internet and those allowed are monitored closely.

Not long after it emerged on Friday the site existed, it was quickly hacked. Scottish teenager Andrew McKean told Mortherboard that he was able to log into the website’s backend by simply using “admin” and “password” as the login details.

This gave the 18-year-old full control over the site, including the ability to “delete and suspend users, change the site’s name, censor certain words and manage the eventual ads,” as well as being able to “see everyone’s emails”.

It's unclear when exactly the site launched, or how many people have already signed up.

Dual-Boot Ubuntu 15.04/14.10 And Windows 10/8.1/8: step By Step Tutorial With Screenshots

There are many of us want to use Windows and Ubuntu both at the same computer but dual booting does not seem easy to everyone. In this article I'll show you how you can dual boot your computer with Windows 10/8.1/8 and Ubuntu 15.04/14.10.

I assume that you've already installed Windows.

First of all save all of your important files so that any a does not loose any relevant files.
Save data either in pen drive or any external hard drive or whatever source you use to save your data just save it.

STEP 1: Now our first step starts with inserting Ubuntu bootable DVD/Pendrive.
If you have pendrive then make sure you've set your system boot from Pendrive.
If you have not set it up then open BIOS setup. From BIOS, goto Boot tab and select boot preference and select your pendrive at primary boot.
Now save settings and reboot your system.

System should bootup from Ubuntu Bootable Pendrive. Just wait untill you get option to “Try Ubuntu” or “Install Ubuntu”.

STEP 2: Click Try Ubuntu and you will be booted to Ubuntu Live. Here you can test several features and look and decide further to install it or not. Now you see an icon on the desktop “Install Ubuntu”, click it.

STEP 3: A setup window will popup asking for language selection. Select your preferred language from left sidebar and click 'Continue'. The next screen shows couple of options to select. If you are connected to the internet, click the checkbox 'Download updates while installing'. This option downloads and installs all available updates (skip this step if you want to download & install updates after Ubuntu installation). Click second checkbox 'Install this third-party software'. This options installs third-party software such as codecs and more. Although you can install codecs after installing Ubuntu but if you install here then you can play everything just after installation is done. Now click Continue.

STEP 4: Select your preferred

STEP 4: It is the most important step. You have three options available first is 'Install Ubuntu alongside Windows' , second is 'Replace Windows with Ubuntu” and third option is “Something else”. If you want system to partition the hard-disk and install Ubuntu alongside Windows then selectfirst option. If you want to remove Windows completely and install Ubuntu then choosesecond option and third option what we are going to select in this tutorial is “Something else”. This is the very convenient option. I can partition hard-disk as I want without removing Windows.

Choose 'Something else' and continue. The following screen would have all the partitions available at your disk, including the Windwos partition and free space. (Be very careful before you select any partition). Select free space and click '+' (plus) sign below left side of window. Now it's the main part but before that let me tell you what partitions are needed to install Ubuntu. We need to create minimum three partitions namely '/' (root), swap and /home.

Root '/'

root is the partition that contains all of your system and applications file. For example, when you install any application, the related files are stored into root partition. Nothing from this partition can be deleted without root user permission. root partition is symbolized as '/'.

root partition should be more than 25GB. This size will not cause trouble for you in future. You can easily install large applications.

Swap

swap is the partition that is used as RAM (Random Access Memory). In case your RAM is full, system will use swap as a RAM. swap is also used when user hibernates the system. The hibernate session is saved in swap. swap size should be double the size of RAM but if your RAM is 8GB or more then keep swap 8GB. It's should be enough.

/home

/home is the partition that contains all users data. Like in Windows users have different partitions to store data and one partition has OS. /home is like the partitions that contains all users data, such as, documents, music, movies, games setup etc. You can specify any size for/home depending on your use. If you have large amount of files then make it large.

Now that we know what root '/', swap and /home partitions are, let's move on to the main step. First create root partition where we'll install our Ubuntu. Enter size in MB (1024MB = 1GB). Click 'Primary' and click 'Begining of this space'. Choosing Begining of this space creates this partition first and rest of other after. From drop down choose 'Ext4 journalising file system'. There are couple of other filesystems but Ext4 is faster and work perfectly fine with Linux. In last, choose Mount point as '/' root from drop-down menu. And click 'OK'. You've created root partition.

Create the last '/home' partition in the same way as above partitions were created. Select free space and click '+' sign and enter size of /home partition. Jump to 'Use as' and select 'Ext4 journalizing file system, select 'Mount point' as /home and click OK. You're all done!

Click continue and it will give last prompt to check if all the partitions are okey. Click Continue if everything is fine.

Select rest of the free space again and click '+' (plus) sign. You'll get the partition creation window. Enter the size for swap and and select rest of the options and select 'swap area' fromuse as drop-down menu. This selection will hide the last option 'Mount point'. Click OK and you're done.

If you followed everything correctly you should get to select Time Zone. Select Time Zone and continue.
Select Keyboard layout and click Continue.

Complete all fields in the next window. Your name, You computer's name, username, password(twice) and select if you want to login automatically or require to enter password to login. Click Continue and istallation will start. It should not take much time. Just 5 minutes or so. If you're downloading updates then this may take more time depending on your internet speed. If you want to skip downloading, expand the status bar and click 'skip' multiple times.

When installation is completed you'll get popup to restart Live Ubuntu to Ubuntu or Continue Testing. Click Restart and you're all done. Plug-out Pendrive or eject DVD and now whenever you boot, the grub menu will give you two operating systems to select, Windows and Ubuntu. Select Ubuntu and you are done.

Congratulation! You now have two operating systems installed. Select anyone from grub menu and work without any problem.

Engineers from University of Michigan have developed a Batman-inspired software that can allow users to command their smartphones with sense force or pressure on its screen or body.

" ForcePhone offers" a new way -- like squeezing yoursmartphone to make a call -- to bring pressure-sensitive display technology, similar to the 3D Touch functionality that debuted on the iPhone 6S to any smartphone .

The researchers used ultrasonic waves to replicate the effects of 3D Touch without the need for a special screen technology.

"You do not need a special screen or built-in sensors to do this. Now this functionality can be realised on any phone," said Kang Shin, professor of computer science in electrical engineering.

The software could also enable users to push a bit harder on a screen button to unlock a menu of additional options, similar to right-clicking with a mouse. The developers envision these and many other uses for their technology, which could offer the masses a coveted feature of the latest generation of smartphones.

The iPhone 6s has a force-sensing screen but the less expensive iPhone SE does not. No commercially available device has a pressure-sensitive body.

"You don't need a special screen or built-in sensors to do this. Now this functionality can be realized on any phone," said Kang Shin, the Kevin and Nancy O'Connor Professor of Computer Science in the U-M Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. "We've augmented the user interface without requiring any special built-in sensors. ForcePhone increases the vocabulary between the phone and the user."

Shin created the system with Yu-Chih Tung, a doctoral student in the same department.

"I think we're offering a natural interface, like how you turn a knob," Tung said. "It's the next step forward from a basic touch interface and it can complement other gestured communication channels and voice."

ForcePhone works by borrowing two of a phone's fundamental attributes—its microphone and speaker. The software sets the speaker to emit an inaudible tone at a frequency higher than 18 kHz, which is outside the range of human hearing. But the phone's mic can still pick up the vibration caused by the sound.

When a user presses on the screen or squeezes the phone's body, that force changes the tone. The phone's mic can detect that, and the software translates any tone tweaks into commands.

"Having expensive and bulky sensors installed into smartphones can solve every problem we have solved, but the added cost and laborious installation prevent phone manufacturers from doing it," Tung said. "Our sound-based solution can fill this gap, providing the functionality without making any hardware modification. Everything is just software."

The idea of harnessing the phone's microphone and speaker for other purposes is an approach Tung initially picked up from the 2008 Batman movie, "The Dark Knight." In the film, Batman turns all the smartphones in Gotham City into a sonar system as high-frequency audio signals bounce off the city's infrastructure. He uses them to track the Joker.

"I thought it was an interesting idea to turn smartphones into a sonar-based system and felt this could lead to new applications to address challenges faced by smartphone users," Tung said.

ForcePhone is the third piece of software based on this idea. Previously, Tung and Shin created BumpAlert, an Android application designed to warn distracted pedestrians of objects in their path, and EchoTag, which let phones tag and remember specific indoor locations and associate those places with certain modes or tasks.

BumpAlert uses the phone's speaker and microphone to create an acoustic detector; its accelerometer to estimate motion and speed; and its rear camera to identify dangerous objects in the path. An algorithm combines the data and warns walkers by vibrating. EchoTag works by sending out inaudible tones and picking up how they're reflected. It can do things like turn on an alarm clock or enable silent mode when you set a phone on a nightstand at the end of the day, for example.

While BumpAlert and EchoTag used sonar to create new applications for smartphones, ForcePhone builds more fundamentally on core interactions a user can have with a phone.

Shin is a leader in developing applications for mobile devices. Software he developed called E-MiLi, which stands for Energy-Minimizing Idle Listening, could extend smartphone battery life by as much as 54 percent. Another system called GapSense helps reduce dropped calls and wireless device interference.

The researchers will present their newest software, ForcePhone, June 27-29 in Singapore at MobiSys 2016, the Association for Computing Machinery's international mobile systems and applications conference.
