Observation Point, Zion National Park, UT

I am going to be breaking up my photos from my recent trip to Zion National Park in southern Utah since the park is so big and I have so many photos. This post is going to include photos taken from hiking the trail up to Observation Point which is located at the Weeping Rock Shuttle stop. It is about an 8-mile round trip hike that is a fairly good workout. It was a weekday when I was hiking and I started early in the morning so I only saw two other hikers before noon, but later I ran into many more on the trail. Some great views at various locations along the trail, not just at the end looking down on all of Zion Canyon. This included some nice canyon areas. Here are some of my shots.

I am going to be breaking up my photos from my recent trip to Zion National Park in southern Utah since the park is so big and I have so many photos. This post is going to include photos taken from hiking around the Clear Creek area which is located East of the main park area before the long tunnel. It was a weekday when I was hiking in the area and only saw three other hikers all morning. Followed two drainage sections to where there were no longer human footprints, only animal tracks in the sand. Here are a couple to get this post started, more to follow.

I am going to be breaking up my photos from my recent trip to Zion National Park in southern Utah since the park is so big and I have so many photos. This post is going to include photos taken from the hike up the Narrows which starts past the Temple of Sinawava bus stop, the last stop, in the canyon. It was a partly overcast/cloudy dat so the sky varies in the shots. But the overcast sky did allow for some very nice saturation down in the canyon. Here is one to get this post started, more to follow. Few more added.

We met at Kiwanis Park in the morning, weather was a bit warm, which was good and bad, good as there were not very many folks at the park, bad because it was warmer than we’d prefer to be out shooting in. We had a good session and you can see some of the photos from the session below.

We met at Paseo Vista Rec Area for a late afternoon shoot, good thing it wasn’t any earlier, as it was still quite warm to start. We ran through her wardrobe changes as we made our way around the park, periodically dodging the frisbee golfers and their frisbees. We also got a few shots with a large stuffed animal dog she had brought along. You can see some of the photos from the session below.

The Wave, Northern Arizona

So after being lucky enough to “win the hiking lottery” back in Nov 2011, I finally made the trip to The Wave last week. The Wave is very nice, but so is a lot of the surrounding area and landscape. Could spend a long time exploring and photographing around there, that is for sure. Hit Horseshoe Bend on the way up and hiking in Sedona on the way back. Here is one teaser shot from The Wave, with loads more to follow. Few more photos uploaded.

We met at Kiwanis Park quite early in the morning. It was fairly nice weather but the wind was blowing a bit more than we would have preferred, but not too bad. I’ve uploaded some of the photos from the session below.
