It’s all over for another year. Although the number of exhibitors was down (I estimate by about 15-20 percent) and some exhibitors had downgraded their booth size, there did seem to be a cautious optimism on the floor of the exhibition hall at ION 2009.

Antenna provider Taoglas (San Diego, California) has launched its SGP series, surface mount GPS antenna products guaranteed to pass final device product certification for reflow solder profile tests, device environmental tests (temperature, humidity), and mechanical testing (such as shock and vibration) for machine-to-machine telematics devices.

NovAtel Announces SPAN-MPPC GNSS/INS Engine

Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) NovAtel has introduced the SPAN-MPPC at ION GNSS 2009 in Savannah, Georgia. The SPAN-MPPC provides the processing power of the company’s SPAN (Synchronous Position, Attitude and Navigation) engine, the SPAN-SE, in a card-stack form factor that can be integrated into a wide range of navigation applications, NovAtel said.
