BCHFS Fall Festival

The Baptist Children’s Home in Carmi will have their 11^th Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, September 18^th from 10am-3pm.  There will again be booths sponsored by churches from across the state with games, prizes and carnival type fun.  There is also a quilt auction and a silent auction that day that serve as a fundraiser for the home but the festival is free!!  Our church will not be having a booth this year, but plan to contribute a gift basket (or two) to be auctioned.  We will announce soon what type of basket(s) we will be gathering for.  If you have suggestions, give them to Nancy Hill or Abby Huff.

Coffee Clatch Today!

It is once again Grace’s turn to host the Coffee Clatch at the Nokomis Nursing Home TODAY at 3pm.  We will need cookies (both sugar free and regular) to serve as well as volunteers to hand out the treats to the residents that come for it!  If you can give an hour of your afternoon or have some cookies to provide, please let Pastor Chris know.

Sunday School Breakfast

Next Sunday will be our monthly Sunday School Breakfast morning at 9:00am.  Plan to bring a breakfast dish/item to share and invite someone to come with you for this fulFILLING fellowship!!

Visitation

We will go on our second monthly visitations TODAY at 5pm to make contact with recent visitors, prospects and members who are not able to make it to services.  Anyone who can help support this effort, please fill out a commitment card and give it to Pastor Chris.  Also, if you know of anyone who could use a visit from our church, please give the name and address to Pastor.

Our church’s association has a week-long youth camp for young people during the summer.  The campground is between Ramsey and Vandalia on Rt. 51.  Cost is $55 the first day of camp.   If you are interested in going, our church will pay half for each child and there are individuals that will also help contribute more if needed.  Forms are on the front table!

We will be hosting a FREE child care night for those in the community that would like a night out as a couple.  It will be a group effort held on July 9^th from 6-9pm.  We will need volunteers to help care for the children brought.  It will depend on the help available as to how many we can take.  We will serve a light snack during that time, so donations for that will also be appreciated.  We will ask that reservations be made to ensure we have enough workers.  If you can help, please let Pastor Chris know.

4^th of July Celebration

We have been invited to come together with Ramsey’s Christian Radio Station, WJLY 93.3, on Independence Day this year to attend their special program featuring David Ring, a preacher who has cerebral palsy and has overcome his limitation to serve God.  We will be dismissing evening services on July 4^th to unite in that celebration.  It will be a day full of events there, so plan to come together us in Pana that afternoon & evening!

VBS Family Night!

Vacation Bible School begins tonight and will run through this coming week.  On Friday, we will have the Family Night Program beginning at 6pm to share pictures and tell about all that we learned throughout the week.  Our church family is invited as well.  We will be having a theme oriented meal of “Trail Food” following the program.  There is a list on the bulletin board if you would like to volunteer to provide a portion of what is being served.  If you have any questions, you may ask Charlene VanDeKreeke.

Baptism Celebration Meal

The Illinois Baptist State Association has set aside May 2^nd as Baptism Celebration day on their calendar.  We, at Grace, have decided to celebrate our recent baptisms with a traditional Baptist potluck meal that day following the morning service.  We invite everyone to join us as we honor the following people for their decisions to trust Christ and obedience in baptism:

Coffee Clatch at Nursing Home

Next Sunday at 3pm is Grace’s turn to host the weekly Coffee Clatch at the Nokomis Nursing Home.  It is a time to share cookies, coffee and socialization with the residents there.  We will need cookies donated (regular and sugar free) as well as volunteers to go serve them.
