Plow & Hearth Review & Giveaway

Recently, I had the pleasure of reviewing a 4 Panel Raised Bed from Plow & Hearth.

I was really excited about this product since I have been trying to eat a little cleaner. I had decided I would love to try my hand at a winter garden, but I didn't really have a spot to plant a garden. With this great raised bed kit I was able to put it anywhere I wanted without plowing up the yard.
Here is my raised bed.

If you look very closely, you can see all my vegetables growing!!

Overall, this is a great kit. It is lightweight, yet sturdy. Also it was super simple to put together! I had it together in about 5 minutes. And I had a 2yr running around while I did it!!

Getting Ready for Holiday Travel...

The holidays are quickly approaching this year. I have been perusing many luggage stores recently looking for some new bags to gear up for our busy travel during the holiday season. I've not loved what I've seen in a lot of local stores. Everything seems to look just alike, but I found at CSN that there are tons of bags to choose from. Look at this cute bag.

Torn By Amanda Hocking Pre-Release Book Review

About 6 months ago, I started getting hooked on paranormal romance and urban fantasy. Honestly, I thought I would be the last person on the face of the earth to be interested in vampires, werewolves, fairies and trolls. But, let me just tell you...a good paranormal writer will suck you in. Seriously! You too will love it if you give it a chance :)
So, several months back, after reading Twilight, and still searching for a vampire fix, I found Amanda Hocking's series My Blood Approves. I loved this series and can not say enough good things. Amanda writes for the teen crowd, but do not in any way let this make you think she is not a strong writer. Think of young adult writers such as J.K. Rowling and Stephanie Meyer. Trust me, Amanda Hocking produces the same superior writing as these writers in my opinion. Amanda also has writen another series called the Trylle Trilogy. I kept thinking I wasn't going to be interested in this because it was based on trolls. Oh, but let me just tell you. This series is one of the best so far!! And, I totally loved the whole trylle (aka troll) world that Ms. Hocking has created for us. I could picture it so vividly.
So, as I said I love the Trylle Series, and I was ecstatic when given the opportunity to preview the new book of the Trylle Series called Torn. The first book, Switched, was phenomenal and Torn was beyond words. Amanda Hocking has a way of drawing you into her world of fantasy. You actually feel that you could be the lead character. Just unbelievable. And let me clarify. I am a 31 year old mother of two young children. I am proof that a young adult writer such as Amanda Hocking can certainly pull in readers from other age ranges when writing about such a vivid and captavating story. Oompa Toys Giveaway

I recently had the opportunity to review a few items from Oompa toys. This company was new to me, but I was really impressed with them once I got to looking at their toys. Their website is user friendly and easy to navigate. For my review I choose the Haba Trixi Bracelet,

the crocodile creek "Dance" playground ball

and the Haba Trixi Hairclip

Lets start with the Haba Bracelet and Hairclip. These were cute little pieces of jewelry made from wood. They have a nice weight to them, though not heavy. They just seem very well made. I think these could certainly withstand several generations of use. The colors are so pretty and vibrant. This would make an excellent gift for a young girl. Especially since the hair clips and the bracelet can be purchased for under $15!

The playground ball is also very nice. Its just the right size and not cheaply made either. Some outdoor balls are so heavy, but not this one. It has a nice tough surface, but the plastic is not so heavy that you feel your kids are going to knock someone out with it:) I love the design of the little dancers. Its very hard to find playground balls for girls. Mine adore this one!!

Recently, I was asked to review Lunchbox Reviews. Honestly, I had never heard of this site. But, I am so glad to have found this site. If you have kids, you will love this site.

Lunchbox Reviews is a website full of kid-oriented apps for your itunes, iphone, ipad touch, etc. There are lots of games such as this one, called Fantasy Preschool Adventures!

And games for older kids, this Hello Kitty Parachute Paradise will be adored by my my oldest,

Besides games, there is a large selection of kids books and education apps. I'm seriously loving this site. I know I don't have to worry about my kids finding something inappropriate. That is a huge peace of mind for me!

The Butterfly Effect Book Review

I recently had the pleasure of reviewing a book for BookSneeze. The book was titled The Butterfly Effect by Andy Andrews. This book was a pleasure to read. The book can be read from start to finish in about 15-20 minutes. Its a nice reminder of how your choices do matter. Every persons actions do make a difference.
