Pentel Gel Pens & Mechanical Pencil Review

I have written reviews on office supplies from Shoplet promotional products in the past and I have always had a great experience. Today I am reviewing some Pentel EnerGel X Roller Ball Retractable Gel Pens and also a Pentel EnerGize X Mechanical Pencil that was sent to me. If you have read any of my past reviews then you may know that I have written other reviews on various pens and writing utensils. You may also know that I am a bit weird when it comes to my pens and pencils. They have to be just right, they have to fit and feel comfortable in my hand, they have to write smoothly with the ink flowly evenly. Some might call it obsessive and I am o.k. with that, (as long as I have the right pen-LOL.)

I was sent a set of 8 Pentel EnerGel X Retractable Roller Gel Pens, with a variety of colors 3 different blues, red, pink, orange, green and purple. When you write with this pen the liquid and gel ink combination makes a very smooth line. There is no clomping, or ink globs that gather at the end of the pen like you can sometimes experience with other pens. If you happen to be left handed then you know that writing can be messy at times, it you do not have the right pen. With the Pentel EnerGel X Roller Ball Retractable Gel Pen you will not have that mess, with the quick dry liquid and gel ink combination these pens have, you will have neat and clean paper everytime. The pens have a grip that fits nicely into my hand when I am writing. The grip is latex-free, that is important for all the people that are allergic to latex.

The Pentel EnerGize X Mechanical Pencil also has a nice barrel grip that is latex free. The lead fits nicely in the end of the pencil and is easily retrieved to load into the writing position. I will be honest and say that I am not a big fan of mechanical pencils, I hardly ever use them. But this one was very easy to load and felt very comfortable in my hand. I ended up giving this mechanical pencil to my son who is going to college and was pretty excited when he saw the pencil.
I would recommend all of these products to anyone who likes pens and pencils to fit comfortable in their hands at the same time they are writing with smooth and clean lines.

My grand-kids and I love reading books. I think that the best books are the ones that relay a good message that the kids can understand. When a book can get them to ask questions and talk about the characters that is important. A children's book about bullying is a great idea with all the bullying in schools, it is very important to teach our children respect and how to treat others. Hugo the Happy Starfish is a great example of just that kind of book. Hugo is a little startfish who lives in the ocean, he notices some of his friends getting "picked on" - "bullied" by the bigger fish that live in the ocean. He does not like seeing how that makes his friends feel, so he takes action and does something about it. Hugo starts the Anti-Bullying Club to teach others that bullying is not o.k. and to learn respect.

This book is a lot of fun and my grand-kids loved it. We talked about how it is wrong to be mean to people and came up with different ideas if they see a friend getting bullied or doing the bullying. The illustration in this book is wonderful. The bright colors make it fun to look at everything happening on each page. This is a book that we read every story time. The thing that really sticks out in this book more than in others that we have is that it has some words written in Spanish. I think that is very important for our children to learn different languages and this is a fun way of doing that. You can also find fun worksheet to go with this book and other books in the series on the website that are free to download. You can get this Hugo book and all the others in the Hugo's series at Amazon. I would recommend this book to anyone who has children.

Suzy Liebermann is the author of this fantastic children's book. She lives in the USA now, but is originally from Germany. Suzy has experience teaching in German, Spanish, French, and English. She has a degree in foreign language translation and a master's degree in business management and international business. She started Happy Language Kids Publication in 2010 for children as a interactive language learning program. She is a teacher of cultural art and foriegn language at a prestigious International Baccaclaureate World School. The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a non-profit eduation foundation that has three programmes for students 3-19yrs old to develop the intellectual, person, emotional and social skills to live, learn and work in the world.
