<p>The Human Resources Manager will be the key member in attracting, retaining and developing the most important part of the company, the people.  They will use their knowledge and experience to communicate and carry out human resource services and initiatives associated with Recruitment, Compensation, Safety, Employee Relations, Training and Development and overseeing Payroll and Benefits administration.</p>
<p>The HR Manager will report directly to the President.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p>•	Act as an advisor for the Senior Management team with employee related issues and initiatives.<br />
•	Provide coaching to managers and employees on compensation, performance management, employee relations, training and development and staffing related areas.<br />
•	Act as a member of the Strategic Planning team.<br />
•	Ensure practices are consistent with current legislation and B.G.E.’s philosophy, policies and objectives.<br />
•	Facilitate performance management and termination processes.<br />
•	Supervise Human Resources team members.<br />
•	Oversee the recruitment process; becoming involved with the recruitment of mid-senior level positions.<br />
•	Work closely with the Safety Representatives to support safety related initiatives.<br />
•	Facilitate the annual performance review and compensation review process.<br />
•	Research creative rewards program, recognition and encouragement to ensure that all BGE employees feel appreciated for a job well done.<br />
•	Deliver regular communication regarding company events, news, policy changes, and announcements.<br />
•	Research training and certification programs that would fit the needs of BGE staff and the organization.<br />
•	Draft and implement new policies as required by legislation or company changes under the guidance of the management team.<br />
•	Improve and adapt Policies as the needs arise.<br />
•	Other related duties as required.</p>
<p><strong>Projects</strong></p>
<p>•	Manage the development of a new organizational structure and chart.<br />
•	Act as PM for development of personal training and development plans for all employees.<br />
•	Develop new recruiting ideas and process.<br />
•	Creation of Manager Handbook.<br />
•	Revision of Employee Handbook.<br />
•	Deliver communication regarding Benefit Plan Revision.</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<p>•	Human Resources degree, diploma or certificate.<br />
•	Relevant experience (3-5 years)<br />
•	CHRP Designation an asset.<br />
•	Excellent interpersonal skills; a person who listens well, respects diversity of opinions and has an open, clear and succinct communication style.<br />
•	Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple priorities, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines<br />
•	Able to foster effective working relationships and demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness with employees and management.<br />

<p>The recruiting team is responsible for hiring all roles across the organization. <p>Qualifications:</p>
<p>•	Minimum 8+ years recruiting experience with at least 5 years’ experience in information technology (a combination of corporate and agency recruitment experience is preferred).<br />

•	Post-secondary degree in a business or HR-related discipline is required.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hello Canadian HR/Recruiting community,</p>
<p>The market is moving a bit now, not as quick as we thought but certainly not as bad as it was.  The Retail, hospitality and service companies are making some small moves and there are a few other organizations adding talent to support attrition and growth.</p>
<p>One thing still remains the same from our last “State of the HR/Recruitment landscape”, there are more “passive” candidates than ever before.  I’m thinking that over the next few months organization will need to respond quickly to shortages in the HR/Recruiting Departments.</p>
<p>To the “seekers” in the market,&#8230; organizations are starting to assess talent, talent gaps and organizational effectiveness within their HR/Recruiting teams and will be coming to the market soon for support.  We just need to be patient.</p>
<p>For the team leaders reading this,&#8230; some of these passive candidates might be on your team.  For the past few years HR/Recruiting talent strategies have been focused on acquiring, growing and retaining top talent for your organization, are you doing the same thing for your team?  If there is a swing in the market, you may find yourself in a position to add to your staff, via attrition or growth,&#8230; are you ready for that?</p>

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Responsibilities:<br />
</span></strong>- Develop and maintain working relationships with hiring managers/executives in the unit to understand current and future recruitment<br />
needs, job vacancy specifications, requirements, and to make recommendations on optimum sourcing channels. Educate, consult and transfer knowledge of staffing processes to hiring managers.</p>
<p>- Proactively search candidates, screen resumes and/or conduct telephone interviews to ensure candidates meet minimum requirements of job.</p>
<p>- Using behavioural interviewing techniques, facilitate individual and/or panel interviews; provide support and counsel to hiring managers throughout the interviewing process.</p>
<p>- Gather and provide feedback and recommendations to both the candidate and hiring manager regarding strengths and development needs of the candidate todetermine and select the most qualified applicant.</p>
<p>- Manage the job offer process, including reference and criminal checks.</p>
<p>- Track and report on critical recruitment data monthly.</p>
<p>- Initiate and work on special projects such as Career Fairs, Campus recruitment, Summer Student Programs, etc. with other members of the Resourcing team.</p>
<p>- Actively participate in recruitment initiatives such as outreach recruitment career fairs and diversity/employment equity programs.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Qualifications</span></strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">:</span><br />
- 2 – 3 years full-cycle, search/agency recruiting experience.<br />
- Experience in high volume recruitment for junior to intermediate level positions in Retail Banking preferred.<br />
- Well developed consulting skills to lead a front-end analysis and guide the recruitment process to closure, including risk management measures such as reference checking.<br />
- Strong organizational skills, ability manage a portfolio of over 20 vacancies concurrently, acknowledge all applicants, and regularly communicate progress to hiring managers.<br />
- Strong interviewing and assessment skills are required.<br />
- Well honed communication skills: listening, speaking, writing, presenting and facilitating interviewing workshops.<br />
- Excellent interpersonal skills.</p>

<li>Coachmanagers on documenting and communicating performance feedback.</li>

<li>Conducts/facilitates training with managers and associates on performance management, engagement and key HR processes, (ex.<br />
STD, Exits) etc.</li>
<li>Assists in the coordination and implementation of all terminations including severance calculations, career transition, etc..</li>
<li>Interpret, and administer company policies/procedures to ensure the highest level of compliance and integrity across the organization and ensure compliance with provincial employment laws and practices.</li>
<li>Ensure consistent application of policies with respect to associate relations issues; make recommendations when existing policies no longer align with organization direction/philosophy.</li>
<li>Tier 2 Canada HR escalations; HR SME for HR (ex. File request to Canada HR)</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">QUALIFICATIONS:</span></strong></p>
<p><strong>Experience:</strong><br />
2- 4 years of generalist HR experience required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines are necessary. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.  Must be proficient with MS Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint &amp; Outlook).</p>
<p><strong>Candidate must be fully bilingual in French and English.</strong></p>

<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>

<li>A minimum of 3-7 years’ experience as a full cycle recruiter, ideally within a vendor or corporate organization in the engineering and construction industry.</li>
<li>Previous experience managing multiple hiring managers is required.</li>
<li>Demonstrable skills in identification and attraction of passive candidates.</li>
<li>Experience working internationally and/or on project sites a strong asset; must have or be willing to develop a strong working knowledge in these areas.</li>
<li>Previous experience with LinkedIn Recruiter advantageous.</li>
</ul>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Over the past few weeks we’ve been speaking to Recruiters and HR  professionals about the “State of the recruiting/HR landscape,” and we  all agree that, “the market has not been this slow for quite some time.”</p>
<p>With some economic uncertainty, corporate shortfalls and some of  Canada’s leading organizations posting bad earnings and market  positions, more companies are holding off hiring and instead, they are  assessing their people and direction through the back half of Q1.</p>
<p>For the Job Seeker, it means the market is going to need another month to gain back some of the momentum we’ve lost.</p>
<p>For the employer, the current talent pool is very hungry and any  opportunities that you have will spread like wildfire.  It also means  that the “passive” candidate has gone back into hiding and will not  start kicking tires again until market activity is healthy.</p>

<p>Are you an Employee Relations Maven and looking to work for a great company in a fast paced industry?  Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Employee Relations Advisor will provide guidance and advice on various employee relations matters, while ensuring compliance to relevant employment legislation.  This role resides in Toronto and supports Western Canada (MB to BC and north to NWT) thus requires extensive travel.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Coach and advise Managers in Western Canada on employee relations matters, including performance management, attendance management, disability management, conflict management, progressive discipline, and day-to-day employee relations issues.</li>
<li>Provide overall employee relations support to staff inquires regarding policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Field, investigate and resolve employee issues, concerns, and complaints.</li>
<li>Draft and formulate relevant correspondence within the realm of employee relations and/or human resources e.g. disability provider, legal representatives.</li>
<li>Facilitate, maintain and monitor ‘return to work’ discussions and ongoing matters to support claims management program.</li>
<li>Track and maintain employee relations metrics and reporting.</li>
<li> Evaluate the effectiveness of HR and/or employee relations programs.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>University Degree in a related field and 3 to 5 years of employee relations experience in the service industry</li>
<li>CHRP designation would be an asset.</li>
<li>Must offer experience in dealing with very labour intensive, hourly, front-line, employee driven environments in both union and non-unionized settings</li>
<li>Strong working knowledge of employment standards and human rights legislation, variances by province and its application in a business operation.</li>
<li>Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code would be an asset.</li>
<li>Skilled in dealing with workplace behaviour issues and practices.</li>
<li>Highly developed investigative and analytical skills to identify issues, write reports and make recommendations.</li>
<li>Ability to provide informal coaching to individuals at all levels and influence as appropriate to ensure successful outcomes.</li>
<li>Action oriented individual, who demonstrates high accountability, sound judgment and decision making abilities.</li>
<li>Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in core competencies including customer service, decision making, negotiation, problem solving and adaptability.</li>
<li>40– 60% travel required to Western Canada (Winnipeg to Victoria).</li>
<li>Must be willing to offer a flexible work schedule when assisting employees and/or clients in Western Canada</li>
