New layout

New layout with fresh spring colors. Very simple, but I rather liked it.

Unfortunatly, I don't have a birthstone layout for April or May. I know what I want to do, just haven't had time to do it. But I wanted to upload something for you, and I rather like the colors in this layout. There's also a new anime layout for Sailors Neptune and Pluto, which I made to go with a tutorial. More on that later. In the meantime, enjoy!

March's birthstone layout is up, trying to decide what I want to do for April. I'll admit things are kind slow on the updating end, but I'm still working on new things. Just have to work on actual work first. ^_^;

I've also fixed the RSS feed so it will correctly update. Stupid leaving out one letter error. *ahem*

New Wallpaper

New wallpaper today, sorry I haven't been updating as regular as I used to. Things have been rather stressed on this end, so I haven't had much extra time to work on layouts as I'd like. But I bring you a new wallpaper to tide you over, and I'll get back on making other graphics as soon as I can. ^_^;

On a Sailor Moon kick, so yeah. New layout, and since I ended up getting rid of the backgrounds, made a transparent PNG out of it for others to use. The layout is kinda pink and girly, but I figure it's Sailor Moon, so it's appropriate. Enjoy!

Rules reminder

Added an extra 'rule reminder' to all the desktop wallpaper pages. Sorry, but I'm tired of finding people not only using them for backgrounds for their friendster pages, but also hotlinking them. If it keeps up, they'll all be .zipped up and you'll have to download them that way. ><

In other news, anyone have any tutorial ideas for PaintShop Pro they want to suggest? I've thought about it, but I can't think of anything off the top of my head anyone would want to learn to do with PSP as a lot of people seem to use PS.

New Layout and other

Ok, February gemstone layout up. Not my best, but it's not bad. Actually, it was up yesterday, just forget to mention it. ^^;

But I have something else to comment on right now. On a random search, I have been discovering layouts that I've done have been seriously altered graphics-wise, even though I've specificaly asked people not to do that. This really kinda pisses me off. I mean, if you would ask permission, I would probally say ok, but no one ever has. I've noticed most of them have been downloaded from DDG, which is a concern for me. I mean, I like that people are using my layouts, but if all they're doing is altering it, they're not really using my layouts, just hijacking what I spent time doing. Even if they do give me credit for the coding. I mean, it says specificly in the readme file NOT TO ALTER THE GRAPHICS. What else do I have to do? Seriously! So I'm asking you right now, that if you download any of my sets, please don't alter them!! If there's something you want to change or need to change to add a title or something, ASK FIRST. I won't always say yes, depending on what you want, but more than likely I'll say. But these are graphics that I have worked hard to make, and I have the right to say no and that be respected.

I'll be in the process of moving over the next few weeks, so unfortunatly, no new layouts while I do so. I will return before the end of February with the gemstone layout, though, and if I get bored at work, I still might turn up with something. ^_^;

New layout up, for Trigun. It actually started as something else, and I ended up changing everything in the end, including the colors. Ah well. I'll try the other color scheme on the next one. ^_^;

New layout and tidying up

Ok, starting the month gemstone layouts today. ^_^ January's birthstone is garnet, so nice and sparkly and red. And before anyone asks, I'm using the common birthstone for each month. I know there are different stones sometimes for different months, but I'm going by what I know and what most sites say. *shrugs* There's also a matching wallpaper, just because.

Also went through and tidyed up some things. The pagination is now more visible on the layout pages, which also show more per page to eat up that whitespace, the contact form actually matches again, and I did some CSS work to make the fonts a bit more consistant. Let me know if you find any problems! ^_^

- New affilate! {/cheer} Welcome to Fake Wings, a site full of some very lovely layouts. Go check it out, but don't forget to come back, yeah? ^^

- New layouts for 2009! I have a plan to do a special layout every month this year featuring the common gemstone of that month. That's not to say I won't do other layouts, but you can be assured of at least one layout update per month. Whee!

It's offical!

Graphics by Dubird is now Jadeslash Graphics (aka jade/graphics)! After much consideration and thought and talking about, the name has offical been changed. Graphics by Dubird will be a more or less 'sub' part of the site, as all my layouts and other graphics that I put my name on will still say that. However, this also opens this site up to possible submissions, depending on how much space I can get when I can afford to put it onto it's own server. You can now use the address jadeslash.com to get here, as well as dubird.net/free. Before the Christmas break, I'll go through and finish rewriting some sections and fixing up a few things to reflect the name change, but most of it is changed anyways. So, welcome to the new name, and we'll make next year the best one here yet! ^_^

Yesh, I finally got them all up, all thumbnails updated, and everything is linked properly. *dies* I also have a new layout here, which I'm really happy with, as well as some other tidying up that I've done. It is a little early for the new layout, but I was excited about it and so figured why not? ^_^; Enjoy!

Ok, not done with the live previews yet, still working on it. Blaurgh. Sorry, but between the crappy connection I had at my uncle's house and falling off a horse, I kinda got thrown off my plans for the weekend. At least I got my sketching done.

Oh, and I do have two custom layouts to do which I will be working on this week, so no new free layout. But I will hopefully get the live previews done and that'll take care of that. ^_^;

Sorry for the silence, the last couple of weeks have been rather stressful. And, this weekend I'll be out of town. I did complete one layout, and I've got a couple others I want to work on, but I can't give you any kind of date when they'll be ready.

In other news, my truck has been revived! It's still Weakened, but I'm hoping that will wear off soon. *nods*

Yesh. To make up for lack of updates lately, another new one this week! It's also a Trigun one. When I cleaned out the old layouts, I inadvertantly took down all my Trigun ones, and I felt bad because that ment that I didn't have them showing up on my Trigun site. But now it's better. ^_^

Been a bit busy of late, sorry 'bout that. But I don't come back emptyhanded! New layout and wallpaper (that I love!) and bit of general tidying up.

Also, started watching Hellboy 2 last night, didn't finish because I was too tired. But I will say this: it's amusing enough I'm going to try and finish it tonight after FFXI. I mean, evil tooth fairys? That's just bizarre enough I have to keep watching! XD

Whee! Finally figured that out, so the layouts now have 5 per page. That will hopefully make it easier to view. I'm working on a layout remake now, but I just haven't had a lot of extra time lately. I'll hopefully have something for you by the weekend.

Layout redo

No new one, but redid the snow one for Tsuzuki from Yami no Matsuei. I was always not happy with the original, as I had the sizing wrong, but wasn't sure how to fix it. Well, now it's fixed. It's still a little big in 800x600, but at least you don't need the scroll bars anymore.

I've also been through and have been redoing old sites and getting some things off this server to make more room. Right now, this site is the biggest resource hog, but I can't afford a new server for a while, so I'm rather stuck with it. Unfortunatly, that means no live previews yet. I am working on it, and I hope to have things a little more under control after I move to a new place, which will be after the first of the year, but I can't guarentee anything. But don't worry, I don't plan on shutting this down! ^_^; I'll just have to work within my limitations. *shrugs*

New layout, simple blue/gray winter theme. Also, started in on the old layout redos. I'm going to go through the old ones still on the site first and update them. They're still good, just could use a bit of updating and 'tightening' up in the code. I'll remove them and readd them in the database so you'll know which ones are updated.

Went through and pulled quite a lot of my older layouts. Some will be remade because I still like the idea, but it'll be a little while before I get them back up. And there's still some that I'd like to redo, but I'm leaving them up for now because there's not really anything wrong with them, they just need a bit of tidying up.

Anyhoo, will hopefully have something new for you by the end of the week. ^^

New tutorial

This week's update is a new tutorial on using Illustrator to do lineart from a sketch. It's in two parts, and is hopefully easy to follow. ^_^;

In other news, I'm going to go through and clean out old layouts. Some I will update and put back up, but most are just going away. There are lots in there from before CSS started being used, and they're just not good layouts anymore. So sometime in the next week, a bunch will disappear, but afterwards, I'll start updating and fixing up some of those to look nice and new. I do have a couple other layouts I've been working on, as well, so hopefully I won't get too busy at work to get them finished as well.

I'm also working on a new layout for here. I've gone through about 4 other versions so far, but none seem to be what I want. But this next one looks promising. ^_^ I do plan on moving this to it's own domain in the near future, which will mean the layouts have live previews again! So sign up for the RSS feed over to the right if you want to know when that happens. ^_^

And now that I've been listening to a couple of their albums, I'm rather enjoying their music. Isn't it funny how that works out?

Wallpapers are going to be messed up for a bit. I need to restructure how they work in the database and rename files, so if you can't get them to work, that's why. I should be done by the end of the day, though, and I'll post here when done. ^_^

Edit: Well, wasn't that just whizzer? XD All the wallpapers are in their correct directories, and the count over there now reflects all of them, including the Gundam Wing ones. (and yes, that count jumped a LOT, i've done a lot of GW wallpapers! ^_^;) Now, granted, the 'latest wallpapers' isn't 100% accurate, but it is close. Because of how I merged the data, a lot of the GW wallpapers got put after a few of the newer, other wallpapers. But since they're all older from before I started this database, it's as close as I could get. At least now they're all together and will make keeping it updated eaiser. You know, when I have something to update it with. ^_^;
