Then why bother with the polls at all? It gets a bit ridiculous because every day it seems a new one comes out. Why even pay attention to them? The results of the polls also have to do with how/what questions are asked and many of the pollsters slant the questions to get the responses they want. That's why if you do follow polls, you should get a sampling.

I was reminded yesterday when I read a Lancaster newspaper article about the pension mess in Pennsylvania of Tom Ridge's contribution to the problem. The year was 2001 and the law was Act 9 which jacked up school employee pensions by 25 percent and enlarged other state employee pensions and most importantly for the legislature that passed it, it boosted legislative pensions. The governor who signed the pension jacking law was none other than Tom Ridge. Ridge is often hailed by RINO posters here and other places as a "fiscal conservative." Sure..........

The school district administration and school board here made the big mistake of creating an anti-First Amendment policy that cost taxpayers money. Sad to say, there's no accountability in the insider networks of liberal school board members and administration who work together to tax and spend, year after year. And authentic conservative outsiders have a heck of a time trying to get any kind of footholds on the boards, much less the administration of our public schools.

Hats off Guest. This is exactly the kind of discussion that should be taking place re: any polling that is released. Knocking a poll simply because of who released it does little to advance the discussion. This goes for the ones released by Rasmussen, Madonna, Quinnipiac, Jimmy Lee, Zogby, etc Regardless of how cynical one is, those who release public polls are certainly not making the numbers up from scratch. Are their methods and sample size on target? Ah, there's the rub...

Any poll that matches the numbers to the actual registration numbers will be wildly off in favor of Democrats. Statewide even, Republicans will be the pleurality at the polls and probably have a 5% point turnout advantage to Dems. Also independents will not vote at nearly the rate of Rs or Ds further weaking the chances of any Dem candidate statewide. This is how Orie Melvin won so easily in 2009/

Daily Kos didn't just makeup the numbers, it was conducted by Research 2000. For example, back in October this site did a poll in conjunction with Dane & Associates, the results of which showed Specter leading Toomey 46%-43%: http://www.grassrootspa.com/blogcore/pdf/PASen10-... It's fine to criticize a poll's methodology, but since DailyKos didn't just make up the numbers I don't understand attacking it simply because they released it. Their poll show Toomey beating Sestak and Corbett over all the Dem Gov candidates, probably not the results they would have wanted!

I can't help but agree with Newt2012. Clearly Corbett is the one leading the fiscal conservative agenda, while Rohrer seems to be watching. I guess when you spend 18 years in Harrisburg doing exactly what you are told...like voting for midnight payraises, you are only able to follow and not lead.

I'm still undecided on whether i will vote for Corbett, or Rohrer for Governor. I am positive that i will vote for Daryl Metcalfe to be our new Lt. Governer. Metcalfe will hold the Governor accountable to our Conservative values. You can bank on it. He has walked the talk on every issue since being elected as State Rep.

Here in Newton Township, Lackawanna County we charge, I believe, a $500 fee (it may have increased a bit) to cover the advertising and other costs. However, the unused portion of the fee is refunded to the petitioner. The article says that members of the board are compensated. Really? I was on our board for severla years and even served as chairman. None of us recieved a penny in compensation. In fact we used to joke about it. Even if offered I wouldn't take a penny.

Newt 2012 - go to any one of Sam's townhalls, and you will hear his specific plans. Watch one online. Ask any question. You may not support him, but you certainly cannot honestly argue that the man has no plans. He talks in detail about what he will cut, he talks about how he would fund the elimination of the School Property Tax; talks about absolute specifics.

Its funny how this message board and other blog posts have criticized Corbett for not having policies, now that he unveils his ideas its more criticisms which is fine, but I have yet to hear what Sam Rohrer's plans are to reform Harrisburg or for our economic future. Just five simple points which lack specifics: Remove Roadblocks to Job Creation & Economic Recovery; Reduce Government Cost Through Disciplined Taxes & Lower Spending; Stabilize School Funding & Eliminate School Property Taxes; Improve Student Performance by Expanding Choice and Empowering Parents; Restore the Culture of Ethics and Integrity in Government. Once again rhetoric with no back up from the Rohrer campaign. Its starting to sound like a do as i say not as i do campaign and the same old Harrisburg rhetoric.

Where is Specter going with this? If Sestak WAS offered a job by Obama and more information comes to light, he will already be on record saying Obama committed a federal crime.
