I am not surprised.

Our system of electing judges means that campaign contributors will be people who have an interest and involvement with the judicial system.

The alternative is worse.

I would rather have the chance to pick the judges as a voter than leave it to appointed bodies of "experts" who usually end up being liberal progressive types who impose elitists as judges.

Its not funny. In Alaska, that's what happens. A board appoints the judges and the governor can give a thumbs down, but all that means is that the board sends the governor a new name.

Sarah Palin waited until the third name was sent to her until she said yes.

Personal freedom and liberty...keeping more of your paycheck...limited government... Yeah, the guy is a hack. He has nothing in common with the people of this country. Why, we all want a socialist utopia nanny state where the government tells us what to do, how to eat, etc. At least the Democrat party understands that the Constitution is overrated and outdated.

I love how when GWB proclaimed his faith in God and how it affects his life he was accused of using the full force and power of the US government to drag every citizen kicking and screaming into being converted to Christianity, but now this guy can use the Bible in his political BS speeches and it's just okay. Who is the chairman? I think this has everything to do with Kevin and not the (sorry) state of the GOP. Does he even know what he believes in? If he has even a remote concern for liberty, the Dem Party is not the place to be as they have no respect for liberty. His membership there signals to me that he doesn't have a problem with a party hell bent on destroying this nation.

Absolutely correct on all points. Couldn't have said it better myself. There was a time when "Tax and Spend" referred to a particular political party. Not any more. The problem goes to left wing radicals hi-jacking the democrat party and RINOs hi-jacking the republican party, trying to turn the republican party into democrat-lite (Tax and Spend). I think you'll either see the RINOs leave the republican party or a third political party (which I would hate to see) come into existance. Both Perzel and Smith were in bed with Rendell and didn't care about the people at all, only their power and re-election.

I'd like to know where the numbers came from for both articles. Pennsylvania is in really bad shape fiscally and educationally, and Rendell is a major reason for the demise of PA.

Carney pretends to be a blue dog D to get elected in a predominantly republican district. He was bought and paid for by Pelosi before he was elected the first time and he only got elected because he was the lesser of the evils. He might have lost two years ago if the RINOs in control of the republican party in PA would have supported Hackett. It was more important to the RINOs to have the person of their choice elected than support Hackett and defeat Carney. After all, the next election was only a short two years away. Follow the money, see how much the Ds are willing to put up to get Carney re-elected compared to other Ds.

If he's truly a democrat, I say good riddance. I'm on a campaign to get all RINOs out of the republican party. I want my party back and for all those real republicans that have told me the republican party left them, I want them back and signed up as real republicans. In a predominantly republican county, I see too many RINOs. It's the only way they can get elected and stroke their egos.
