Jali took another peak at the screen, more to reorient herself than anything else...it showed smoke and what looked like buildings, or rather parts of buildings. 'well that obviously didn't work' she thought as her eyes closed again and the voice continued..."parts of the world are in conflict and couriers have been targeting areas all over the world that supported the USA in their efforts to add to their growing country. using small nuclear bombs in luggage, cardboard boxes and various other containers, millions were killed and millions were damaged. the environment was damaged by the combination of the current pollution at the time and the residuals from the bombs, smoke and destruction of buildings. please move forward to 2010". Moving restlessly, Jali remebered that year with a sharp pain in her heart...that had been the year she left the planet on an exploratory mission to find a suitable place for the nation's people to migrate, what was left of them. she had also left soemone behind, someone she now realized had been taken for granted, but it had been easy then...you know that old earth saying, 'absence makes the heart grow fonder'. briefly she wondered what had happened to them, it had only been 10 years after all...'the planet has begun to change dramaticaly as the damaged environment struggles to rebuild. genetic changes in the growth of plants and animals begin to manifest and the shift in the balance between plants and animals becomes more evident as the world's forest begin to move into previously unforested areas. the various firs, being the hardiest, start growing at an accelerated rate...a product of the the genetic changes caused by nuclear residue. another plant, the berry bush, has begun to rapidly cover the ground. genetic changes not only speed up the rate of growth but it is now more of a ground cover...never reaching more than 8 feet high. as these 2 different plants move across the land masses, people are forced into smaller and smaller areas. the face of the planet is changing and scientists are unable to come up with anything that can stop the rapid growth. please move forward to year 2015"<br />

Green

Settling in for the night, Jali set the room view on input...an odd way of learning information but it had worked for her in the past. As the soft drone of the instructors voice moved through the sleep space, the flicker of of light against her eyelids prompted a quick peak. Floating in the blackness on the screen around her, various stars twinkled sending out pulses of energy that flashed and changed color, like an old fashioned xmas decoration gone wild. Above her 2 round objects, defined against the dark, floated into view...the smaller one white the larger green. With this sight on her mind, Jali closed her eyes again and let the voice settle itself inside her head. "Please move back to the year<br />

Opening the book

well...have decided to get one of the books rattling around in my head for years on "paper...we will see how it goes...<br />
