Welcome to episode a special episode of Green Lantern’s Light!

Breaking from the regular format, the guys got together for a look at DC RETROACTIVE: GREEN LANTERN — THE 80s. The issue features Len Wein and Joe Staton teaming up for a lost chapter (sort of) in the life of the Emerald Crusader set (again, sort of) in between the pages of issues 187 and 188.

It’s the beginning of brand new era for the podcast — and for Green Lantern — as the guys look at GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #187, 188 and 189. These issues bring onboard a brand new creative team and sees the departure of many familiar characters. It’s the dawning of a new day for Green Lantern, and the perfect jumping-on point for Green Lantern’s Light!

We bring a close to the calendar year of 1984 and the Len Wein/Dave Gibbons era of Green Lantern with a super-sized episode looking at GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #184, 185 and 186, where Green Lantern battles the menace of Eclipso — and someone’s not making it out alive. This episode, we also dive into TALES OF THE GREEN LANTERN CORPS ANNUAL #1, featuring an universe-spanning tale that threatens the entire Green Lantern Corps!

Next episode, a new day dawns as we welcome a new creative team with a look at GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #187, 188 and 189!

Episode 5: July, August and September 1984

Welcome to episode five of Green Lantern’s Light! Each episode, we look at the stories of Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner and the entire Green Lantern Corps, beginning with GREEN LANTERN #172 from 1983.

The action continues as the guys look at GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #181, 182 and 183! The fallout from last episode’s issues continues as Hal confronts the Guardians and quits the Corps and new Lantern is then called. Who is the new mystery lantern and how will he stop the menace of a vengeance-seeking Major Disaster?

Next episode, we will be looking at TALES OF THE GREEN LANTERN CORPS ANNUAL #1 as well as GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #184, 185 and 186, with the continuing adventures of Green Lantern John Stewart, plus… a special appearance by some Guy!

Welcome to episode four of Green Lantern’s Light! Each episode, we look at the stories of Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner and the entire Green Lantern Corps, beginning with GREEN LANTERN #172 from 1983.

This time, the guys charge forward into 1984 with a look at GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #178, 179 and 180! All around it’s a step up from last episode as the Demolition Team attacks and Hal must hold fast to his pledge to the Guardians… and then deal with the fallout. It’s a pivotal set of issues laying the groundwork for big changes that are right around the corner.

Next episode, we will be looking at GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #181, 182 and 183. Aftermath! Fallout! Exclamation points!

Episode 3: January, February and March 1984

Welcome to episode three of Green Lantern’s Light! Each episode, we look at the stories of Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner and the entire Green Lantern Corps, beginning with GREEN LANTERN #172 from 1983.

Just in time for Christmas, we dive head-first into 1984 with a look at Green Lantern comics from January, February and March of that year. As Hal adjusts to life back at home, the Shark surfaces to take a bite out of our Emerald Crusader. Then in issue #177, we get a flashback to a twice-told tale where Hal hooks horns with the huge-headed hoodlum, Hector Hammond!

Next episode, we will be looking at GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #178, 179 and 180. Big changes are a-comin’ for Green Lantern. Don’t miss it!

We get right down to it and kick off our regular coverage this episode with a look at Green Lantern comics from October, November and December 1983. First up is GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #172, which brings Hal Jordan back to Earth after a year-long exile. We then move on to issues 173 and 174 as Hal defends both Ferris Air and Los Angeles when he takes on a new menace in the form of the Javelin!

Next episode, GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #175, 176 and 177 bring the Shark, Hector Hammond, a guest-appearance by the Flash and more! Be here!

Episode 1: Introductions and Origins

Welcome to the debut episode of Green Lantern’s Light! Each episode, we look at the stories of Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner and the entire Green Lantern Corps, beginning with GREEN LANTERN #172 from 1983.

This episode, we kick things off with an introduction to the show, ourselves and, of course, Green Lantern! As a quick primer before the main event begins, we’ve selected three stories to catch you up to speed on the mythology of the Green Lantern Corps. First up is “The Planet of Doomed Men” from GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #1, which recounts Hal’s origin and introduces the Guardians. That’s followed by “The Day 100,000 People Vanished” from GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #7 giving us our first look at the dastardly Sinestro! And, finally, we wrap things up with “Beware My Power” from GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #87, introducing John Stewart!

Next episode, we start our regular coverage with a look at GREEN LANTERN (Vol. 2) #172, 173 and 174!
