As the Copenhagen Summit is our climate's last chance saloon, it would help if we all understood what's got to happen there. To make that simple, Green Thing has produced a Quick Recipe for a Successful Copenhagen with diplomacy illustrated through the medium of cookery. Watch it. Share it. Don't try to cook it. And remember, as Chef says: "It does not have to be pretty, it just has to work."

Featuring the hands of Marc Danbury, the lighting of Richard Laing, the camera support of Stuart Bunce, the post production of Magic Films, the dulcet tones of Daniel Lapaine and the writing and directing skills of Michael Wright from an original recipe by Green Thing. Serves 202 countries.

So struck in fact, he was moved to start pointing and shooting.

“I saw the first one hanging on the railings by the crossing at the side off the road. I don’t think it had fallen there; it had been found and put there. When they find a lost glove on the ground, people have an instinct to put it somewhere where it can be seen, rescued and re-paired. I took its photograph.

Over the next few days, as my lonely glove awareness grew, I saw more and more gloves and took more and more photographs. They were in restaurants, in the street, in puddles and on Deal pier. In Tesco’s car park in York they were legion.

There’s always something sad and vulnerable about a lost lonely glove because gloves are meant to be paired for life. It prompts you to ask where the other half is and how they came to be separated.â€*

Now take the same person and make them the ultimate sticker, sticking with what they had wherever possible. How different would their lives be? That was question that the talented animators David Altweger, Mira Loew, Guillaume Cornet of Unit 10 Collective (<a href="http://www.unit10collective.com">www.unit10collective.com</a>) wanted to explore - with one super-ironic twist. What if that person was the world's premier consumption temptress, a certain Katherine Ann Moss?

The result is a brilliant slice of double stop frame fantasy exclusive to Green Thing.

David, Mira and Guillaume were given fabulous musical assistance by the brilliant people of Elmore Judd. The Sticky Kate music is by Jesse Hackett with Louis Hackett, Tom Skinner and Shabaka Hutchings featuring the voiceover talent of Jessie Mills. The Twisted Kate music is by Jesse Hackett with Tom Kenyatta's production, graced by Jessie's voice over again.

And after-effects and flash cleverness were provided by Aaron Trinder, Steven Qua and Debbie Brooks.

Stand by for Plug Out Boy. Created by the brilliant and brilliantly-named animator Ricky Martin (http://www.rickymartinshortfilms.co.uk), Plug Out Boy is a boy on a non-power trip to Plug Out everything that shouldn't be on. That he is a line drawing on post-it notes sticking to walls shouldn't obscure the fact that he is a hero we should all try and be like.

This version of Plug Out Boy is set to an exquisitely plugged-out track, Green Monday. If you'd like to set Plug Out Boy to another plugged-out track, maybe your own genius plugged-out creation, then download the silent version, overdub and upload it.

This video was inspired by a trip to Kew on a beautiful day lying in the green grass looking up at the trees and having the peace and the beauty shredded by the obscene amount of planes cutting through the blue sky of London and the hideous noise pollution they created.

We wanted to show the planes leaving, instead of white vapour trails, a more indelible mark on the earth . . . constant scars and reminders of the damage they creating to the earth's atmosphere.

Then one beautiful crisp clear blue sky morning we headed to West London to film as many planes as we could from every angle and green space we could find around Heathrow Airport. We then set about editing a minute's worth of planes and graphic lines, ending with a graphic sequence that illustrates the thousands of planes that litter our sky every minute of every day. The icing on the cake was the music by James Yeomans using the Brian Eno I-phone application Bloom - bloody genius! Enjoy.

Written and directed by Steve Wallington with filming, editing and after effects by the multi talented Jim Yeomans.
"I wanted to make walking fun. For it to look effortless, adventurous and romantic - but all through a pair of fingers. So the search for the right pair of fingers began. I auditioned more than two hundred pairs. Film and TV stars were asking to play the role but they were acting too much with it.

Finally I found the right pair on a man called Justin. The lady fingers are Helen's, she's the H in HLA, the production company who made it all happen. Myself and a fine chap called Dominic made all the sets with paper, scissors and sticky-back plastic. Hope you like the video, and hope it makes you want to walk ..."

Jesus was born in a simple manger in a bare stable in Bethlehem. Perhaps this was because Mary and Joseph knew that it just would have been wrong to surround God's son with the conspicuous consumption that defines many peoples lives today. Perhaps every now and again we can choose to revel in the glory of an old thing rather than a new thing, and do the planet a favour too

It's like the emperor's new clothes. Mineral water does untold environmental damage, tastes exactly like tap water and costs 1000 times as much. And yet sad gullible people across the world fall for the mineral water myth and think they're buying something crucial to their health or self-esteem when they're not. Someone's gotta tell 'em the emperor's got nothing on -- and that someone is Barney Howells from Partizan London who made this very funny and slightly cruel video for Green Thing.
To illustrate the considerable dangers of lifts, Michael Wright not only reused some old bits of polyboard and silver spray to make a skyscraper, lift shaft and lift, he reused some old bits of airfix for the props, two old marionettes to be the lift victims and one of those victims to be the evil lift-cord cutter. The result: a tremendous piece of psychological insight about lifts and why you should doubt them big time.
Stair-climbers James, Jo and Pete risk their lives by trying to reach the third floor. It's a story of guts and sacrifice; a story of genuine heroes who don't know the meaning of the word 'lift' - or do they? Thanks to the brilliant Michael Wright who wrote and directed the whole bloomin' thing, and to Partizan London who kindly produced it.

Director Michael Wright lovingly recreated this famous story of a harrowing climb to the 3rd floor of an office block. James is played by Rob Whitelock, Pete by Euan Wilson and the tragic character of Jo is played by Amy Whitehouse. The hugely atmospheric music was written by Michael Mertens and the video was produced and post-produced by Partizan London. Thankfully, no cast or crew were injured during the making of this hazardous video.

Granny Wrap

Some people have very deep feelings for their old things. If you're one of those people, upload a picture of your old thing, tell us why you care for it and we'll add it to our slideshow. The very beautiful soundtrack, literally complete with bells and whistles, was written especially for Green Thing by talented New York-based composer and sound designer Michael Montes. (http://www.michaelmontes.com/) Many many thanks to him and to the people who've already sent in their pictures to get the slideshow off to such a good start.

The ancients joined those dots to make things they thought were important such as water-carriers and lions. Green Thing has joined up those dots to make things that are far more important today -- things like salty snacks and great Arsenal goals.

Gusty And Ford

This film is about the way you see more when you walk - in this case, the way you look at road signs. I didn't drive anywhere to shoot any of these road signs. Most of them I walked to and one of them was in Norway and turned out to be quite a long walk especially carrying a camera. I didn't do it all, the music is by Marc Folan and the voiceover is Paul Berczeller. If you like the video then why don't you take some shots of some road signs, make your own one and upload it.xxx

Grasses
