I can't believe I actually did it, I finished all 55 Valentines gifties for the girls' classmates and teachers, two days before Valentine's Day. Whoo hoo! Must be a record for us crafters, or... maybe just me. These little hearts are about 1" across at their widest point, and most are on satin cord for necklaces, continuing the collection from Christmas and Halloween. I put pin backs on the five for the teachers. These are crocheted, though, not knitted like the previous ones, but I don't think anyone will notice. The fantabulous little cards are from the oh-so-generous Jessica of...

Can I tell you again how much I love doing the 2-at-a-Time Socks? These were officially my first finished items of 2012, but since they were a test knit for Gardiner Yarn Works and also a birthday gift, I couldn't/can't blog about them. If anyone's interested, I'll let you know when the pattern is released. They are a fun knit. Pop on over to Regina's and see how great they look on her feet! I'm so glad they fit. She takes *way* better photos than I do, too. Happy birthday, my friend.

Have you (or your child) read the Mysterious Benedict Society books (Amazon link to an amazing price for all three!)? I read and enjoyed the first two books with Rebecca, and she read the last one on her own. Last week, I brought home a surprise from work for Rebecca. One of the benefits of working in the book industry is that I have access to advance reading copies, books the publishers send out to generate buzz and interest months before the book is actually published. Sometimes they even have typos, or incomplete illustrations. But do you see that?
