We’ve just found out that the Bluetooth SIG group has leaked the specs and official name of Samsung Giorgio Armani 2. This handset will be known as Samsung B7620 and it’ll pack an 800MHz CPU.

Samsung Giorgio Armani 2 Runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and uses the same 800MHz processor that we saw on Samsung Jet. There’s also Stereo FM radio on board, with RDS, WiFi, A-GPS and Bluetooth. A business card scanner is also on the specs list, plus Pocket Office, a video editor and all sorts of audio and video codecs.

It’s possible that Giorgio Armani 2 will get a Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade and a graphics chip might also be on board, but more on this once the official press release is out.

Starting July 27th, Microsoft will be taking app submissions for Windows Marketplace, as they announced at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference this week. The service gets ready for its release on Windows Mobile 6.5 devices later in 2009 and it’ll come with a neat core of corporate apps, known as Business Center.

The business feature is lacking from the App Store, Android Market and Palm’s App Catalog, although these services also provide productivity software. It’s going to be a profitable initiative for Microsoft, one that will draw RIM’s envy probably.

Although we knew that Windows Marketplace was coming to 6.5 exclusively, it turns out that it’ll also hit WM 6.0 and 6.1 before the year end. All we need now is an impressive list of apps to keep us going and the developers making money, so everyone will be happy.

You’ll be able to add the tab to your VGA or WVGA TouchFLO 3D interface and access international Internet streaming TV channels. The requirements for this software are simple: Windows Mobile Pocket PC 5, 6 or 6.1 and a device that uses TouchFLO 3D and TF3D2, but the latter won’t work properly in landscape mode.

Slashphone claims that Omnia 2 will hit the market on Saturday, July 18, but only in Singapore for now. The handset will be available unlocked for $615, no contract attached and this price makes it as appealing as other similar HTC devices, although the smartphone comes with extra neat features.

Expect a free ROM upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5 for this device, but that’s only a rumour for now and in case it’s real, you should get it at the end of the year. We remind you that Samsung Omnia 2 comes with a 5 megapixel camera, an 800 MHz CPU, a huge 3.7 inch AMOLED display and 8 or 16GB of internal memory.

This touchscreen bar phone comes with TouchWiz 2.0 UI with 3D effects, WiFi, GPS and an accelerometer. Moving on to the Symbian side of things, we learn that Samsung i8910 HD will also hit Singapore on August 1 for $750. This device comes with Symbian S60 5.0 (full touch UI), an 8 megapixel camera, DivX, XviD, video editing, 24 fps (HD) video recording and much more.

After being launched in Germany first, via O2, the Samsung Galaxy Android phone also prepares to land in Italy, France and the UK. The Italians even had a presentation party, a pretty nice one actually, as you can see above.

Galaxy will be available in France tomorrow (July 16th), followed by the UK later this month and probably an Italian launch, on Wind. What do you say? Does Samsung have what it takes to counter HTC and their 3 great Android devices?

Keep in mind that Samsung Galaxy launches with the basic version of Android and comes with zero firmware updates, while the superb new HTC Hero gets all the updates plus an uber-interface.

Analysts estimate that we might be seeing the iPhone in China as soon as early next year, as we’ve just found out that the Apple has applied for a Chinese network access license for the handset. Their favorite carrier is China Unicom and the Cupertino company has been in talks with the provider for months now.

Till now the talks between the iPhone’s maker and China Unicom have stalled because of disputes regarding the proprietary software to pre-load on the phone and its support for WiFi (or lack of it). It’s interesting to note that the prototype iPhone tested by China’s regulatory authorities last week comes with WiFi disabled , according to Zhang Jun, Wedge MKI analyst.

The only way to get WiFi on handsets in China is if they support a local security protocol, so Apple must comply with the rules. Still, the company can receive the access license pretty soon and the device could reach the stores early next year, if all goes well.

July 21st seems to be the date when HTC Hero will hit the UK shores and although Orange and T-Mobile are silent on this matter, retailer Cleverkit claims that it’ll have the handset in stock on the date mentioned before.

Hero will be available SIM free and unlocked for £439 and we can only drool at the possible bargains it’ll come with, once it enters the carriers’ portofolios. LG LX290 has just been made available by Sprint and this handset is nothing impressive, to be honest, since it packs a 1.3 megapixel camera and a 2.5mm jack, the latter feature being the killer of the device’s appeal.

The phone goes for a mere $30 with a mail-in rebate on a 2 year contract and it also features picture messaging, 2x digital zoom, NFL Mobile Live, Sprint Navigation and a QVGA TFT screen. Underneath the case there’s also a battery that will keep you going for 6 hours of chatter.

A recent Data Development Worldwide survey has shown that US cellphone buyers want handsets with more features than simply calling and texting. 40% of those questioned want their phones to access multiple kinds of content.

Many would rather have a great camera on their device than better battery life or a larger keyboard. Convergence is not only a tendency now, but also a trend, since most handsets nowadays come with built in cameras. WiFi and GPS are going on the same path, towards standardization.

Social networking and third party apps are also required by the American public, although they’re only available on higher end phones, for now.
