I've been "working" on my other blog, and the lack of interesting blogworthy events has a negative effect on my posting frequency, and I apologize for that.

Anyways, my pair of 1993 White/Laser Blue Air Force Ones that I won on eBay came in the mail today. I consider these one of my grails, along with various '80's-90's AF1's. I've slowed down a LOT lately, I went from getting 12-15 pairs last year to just 2.

The funny thing is that I didn't care for these until I decided to search my e-mail inbox a couple of weeks ago. I stumbled upon various pictures of sneakers I requested from Napsize. I found a set of pictures I requested for these in October 2007 (Size 9 though). I grew fond of these, and decided to put these in my grail list. Fast forward to a week ago, and I see straat_jp put a pair on auction via eBay. Luckily I was the only bidder and I won them at $89 + shipping.

How do I know that these are Laser Blue? Take a look at the pictures of the box tag and the shoe tag (both pictured above). Draw your own conclusions.

With the help of the POTN Community, I got a Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 Lens (they recommended me this lens) as an upgrade for my XS (the 18-55 kit lens wasn't cutting it). Got it at Al Falak Electronics @ Deira City Center for 1440 AED (around $400 USD, $20 less than B&H Photo excluding shipping and taxes). If you don't like ordering online, I recommend that you get your photography gear from them (they are negotable).

Normally I wouldn't care about cars with taped up sections (I've seen a good grip of cars like that), but when you cover up the roof of a Benz SL (~~might be an AMG~~ it's a SL 55 AMG, people over here modify their cars to look like something else, like this) with plastic and tape, you're just making yourself look foolish.

Since when do cars over here rust? Chinese cars FTL

So being a reckless driver is okay but flipping the bird isn't?

A police officer said that he wanted to let Darren go, but said the driver, who was an officer in the UAE armed forces, was insisting on lodging a complaint.

Why are some of these people like this? Is people like him that fuc...actually I'd rather keep it to myself in case of the rare chance that he would see this and make a complaint against me and get me deported.

Earlier today I decided to pull the plug on my old twitter (@GtothaT), and I did, also made a blog post about it.

Then I saw the NT roast thread, and the urge to get back to Twitter increased. I then signed up.

I've tried pulling this off before, but to no avail. I kept going on/off for a few days, then I was posting @ Twitter again.

As you can see, the picture was taken in 2005, not 2009. With a Canon EOS 1Ds to boot. "Trendy" Arab youth don't use Canon EOS 1Ds' FYI, they're too big, heavy, expensive, outdated and complicated for them use. Sony Cybershots outperform Canon 1Ds' in any given day, because Sony's have more megapixels and bigger LCD's than 1Ds' Period.

PPS: The sentence about Cybershots > 1D's, that's pure sarcasm, so don't take it seriously. Oh, and the ancient Canon 1D Classic runs circles on Sony's even on the latest Cybershits and Sony DSLR's, even the gAy-900's. The only DSLR to match the 1D Series is the Nikon D3X and D700.

Back in 2007, I did a two part series which looked back on the best/worst releases of '07 (these pages still get views, even though they're more than a year old). I was new to blogging plus I was gaining knowledge on sneakers. I wanted to do a 2008 version as well, but I didn't get around to doing it. My interest in the new releases from Nike/Jordan Brand diminshed A LOT, and I was starting to catch up on quality older releases from the '80's, '90's and the early 2000's, at prices comparable or even less than what I can get with a recent release. Nike/JB are to blame as well; they pump out shoes with low quality and bad colorways and/or designs at a high price, which made me stay away from them. Viewing these atrocities on NikeTalk made (and still makes) me cringe most of the time. Moving to Dubai didn't make things better. Good releases are rare in North America, finding on here is like finding a needle in a haystack (Footlocker @ Sahara Center has some nice releases that I should go get one time). Don't expect me to make one for 2009 either, or 2010, or 2011, until Nike/JB gets their shit together and put out better releases (which won't happen).

Judging by the previews, I am impressed by this phone. It utilizes S60 5h Edition to it's full potential, unlike the 5800 XM and N97. Hardware specs ain't bad either, 8/16GB + MicroSD storage, 720p Video Recording, etc. Hopefully this won't be too pricey, so I can stack up the $ to get it over the 5800 XM and the N97.
