New features were added to Guerrilla Mail in the past few days – GuerillaMail Subscription. Only $24/year and get the following benefits: No expiration, Email forwarding, No ads, Use with our other domains.
The other domains are:
guerillamail.com
guerillamail.net
guerillamail.org
guerillamail.biz
Also, the the server was re-configured in the way emails are processed – improving efficiently.
The normal service is still free as always!

Testing some ad placements

We are testing some ad placements on GM – hopefully we can find a sweet-spot for the most optimal placements, and strike a balance between having as little ads as possible, while keeping the earnings healthy enough to keep this site going.

Hardware Upgrade

Guerrilla Mail is undergoing a weapons upgrade this week, and it may experience some down time or other unexpected things happening for a short time. We apologize for any inconvenience caused as we are transferring Guerrilla Mail on to a new set of hardware to improve capacity. Thanks for your understanding.

Details: We’re going to add a hardware based spam filter (MailFoundry), and also a Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) infront of the server. Hopefully this should decrease the load on the mail server and make the service more stable.

As most of you have seen during the last month, we’ve been looking for a buyer to take over the GuerrillaMail project. As we didn’t find a buyer with only good intentions, we decided to invest more time in this project ourselves.

Unfortunately the costs of operating this website have grown significantly over the years. We’re unable to provide this service if we don’t come up with a source of income.

We’re not about making loads of money, but hope to earn just enough to make it worthwhile for us to spending the time and effort in keeping this website running.

At this moment we are looking in the options to provide a premium service for our best-users.

Please Help us Fix Problems

Last couple of weeks we kept getting messages about problems regarding HTML messages.

We do feel to keep this service the way it is now. All content in HMTL messages is skipped out and we only display the text in the messages. This is due to security reasons on our backend. Sorry for that!

But one issue we are not able to replicate is the problem regarding the special characters like : “ä, ö, ü” etc.

Please help us to fix problems by sending screenshots of errors you think we should work on. Please do only send images in jpg or png format. You can mail us at: mailguerrillamail@gmail.com

As you may have noticed this website is listed for sale on sedo. Feel free to contact us if you’re interested.

However, we keep working on this site and improving the service for you!

We’re proud to have created 1,285,341 tempory accounts so far. We received: 24,207,542 emails of whom only 942,925 were legitimed messages. So we’ve receive 23,263,252 unsollicited mail since then!

Almost 25 million emails received! That’s a huge amount of spam catched.

Don’t see Full Message? Read This!

We’ve received some complaints during the last couple of weeks.
Problems appeared where users were not able to see the Full Message.

Just to make sure everyone knows how to fix this, we decided to post a message about this ‘problem’.

We will do an interface update in the next couple of days to make sure it’s more easy to understand the system in the future.

There seems to be some problems for receiving mails, we are investigating these problems right now.

Update:

We switched domains, all new mail will be sent to our new .org domain. We previously used .com domain.
You won’t be able to receive mail at the .com anymore.

We had to do this because we received so much spam on the old domain.

Update on Translations

Thank you for all response we got for our request to help us translate this cool service in more languages. We received more than 100 offers so far, on our blog and in our mailbox.

Just to be sure, it’s a volunteer job!

We are looking for a good solution to get all translations in good condition, hope to find a solution in the next few weeks. If you promised to help, expect to receive an email from us before september 1st.
