Reverend Guitars has just turned 15. Over those 15 years they have produced quality guitar after quality guitar. This one, is potentially my favourite, even in the the over the top gold flake finish.

The 15th Anniversary Flatroc starts with a Bigsby vibrato, which lends a tasteful shimmy and shake to whatever tune your playing. Roller saddles on the Tune-O-Matic guide the string along it's pitch bending path, plus Reverend's pin-lock tuners keep the string winds rock solid. Reverend's choice of wood, Korina, adds warmth and sustain without extra weight and a bolt-on Maple neck with rosewood produces a well rounded snap and attack to the tone. The Flatroc's voice is projected with Reverend's own Revtron mini humbuckers, pickups with vintage output and Alnico magnets. Like all Reverend guitars, the 15th Anniversary Flatroc is wired with a custom tone section and bass contour, which can assist your sound on so many levels.

To me, this thing sound like butter. Amazing in every way.

If you have been reading this blog for a while, you know when it comes to guitar I'm fairly traditional. Classic shapes, passive pickups, you get the drift. But even I have had my interest piqued by these new Schecter SLS models.

Featuring Schecter's locking tuners, and ebony fretboard, a choice between the active Blackouts or Seymour Duncan Full Shred pickups, or the Jazz Passive pickups, choice of three piece maple neck and a killer finish (digging the Blue Burst), this is a modern guitar I could handle having in my collection. It even has left and a choice of Tone Pro or Floyd wang bar.

I think the album is an solid 7/10, based on the strength of some stand out tracks in the first half of the album. Maybe it could have done with a better ordering of the tracks. I don't know. There has been a lot of Devin Townsend news over the past few days. Firstly, he has a new album coming out, Epicloud, and he has released a trailer of the upcoming tracks. I'm loving it. The drums were also tracked over in Perth, WA, Australia, so that makes it even cooler. Maybe a tour down here soon (away from Soundwave - bring down the four night extravaganza)?

The new Catalinbread Galileo is designed to replicate that iconic Brian May Wall O' Vox tone, but it does so much more. This is one of the most faithful recreations of a Vox I have ever heard.

The Galileo is basically two of Catalinbread's great pedals combines, the CB30 and the Naga Viper, tweaked to get that thick wall sound. And it's not a one Queen pony, as the video above shows. It does a great job of emulating the AC30 in a wide variety of settings.
