This goes out to every gun owner and enthusiast out there. All the time I hear talk of big bad Obama putting bans on certain guns and making life hard on the law abiding citizen. Rest assured, Obama well he just doesn’t have that kind of power to violate the 2nd amendment any way he sees fit. If he was to try so he would have the NRA and every other major gun advocacy group/organization in America at his doorstep and at the doorstep of the Supreme Court. Basically if you are a responsible American and are worried about the future, the future is in your hands and the only thing you can do is join the NRA and similar organizations, vote for officials that respect the 2nd amendment, and most importantly excersise your right to freedom of speech and make your voice heard!! If the people of this country make their opinions heard we can overcome this new face of communism that has taken over the white house.

Hey Jessie, you might want to check your facts there big guy. in many places such as Texas and other states there are concealed carry laws in place, and ironically people/criminals might be a little bit afraid of walking into a store and holding the place up if they know that everyone in that store could potentially be packing. Just a thought, also many of the states that do have concealed carry require that your guns be registered and that you have a concealed carry permit which often requires a background check and sometimes even more. Although I cannot speak on the account of every state in the Union, concealed weapons are not accelerants to crime, they are deterrents and should be the choice of every law-abiding American whether they want to carry concealed weapons or not.

Face it. Obama will do everything in his power to make it so that law-abiding citizens cannot own or use guns. There’s no way that I will be giving up my guns just because the new president feels that we are untrustworthy of handling our firearms with care.

I don’t know what Liberals are thinking. But, I do know that if he imposes some sort of “plan” that will severely limit gun use, then it will be everybody paying for it out of their tax dollars. Also, jesse, you spelled definitely wrong. Why don’t YOU stop to think before you criticize. Oh, and you should capitalize the first letter of the first word of a sentence.

My only question to everyone who voted for Obama is: Why is your newly appointed leader concentrating on gun laws when he has no idea what he’s doing about healthcare?

If Obama wants to go against the 2nd Amendment, then I would imagine that Texas would not be too happy. My advice to Obama: Leave gun control laws alone and focus on more important issues.

The last thing that the country needs are people rushing out to buy guns, handle guns, or leave guns unattended because they are afraid. Plaxico Burriss is an example of what happens when someone is carrying a gun because they are afraid–they are a danger to themselves and others around them. The news has already reported that some people are wearing what appears to be a “badge” to identify themselves as a concealed weapons carrier.

I am an active duty Navy Chaplain; I am a non-combatant, who cannot carry a weapon of any kind into battle. But there are Religious Program Specialists or Marines who do carry weapons, and are trained in using them. I am not worried that I don’t have a weapon in that situation, I trust in those who are trained and do have them.

I am worried about individuals who do anything out of panic. Panic may sell guns and even sell permits for carrying them, but the thought of having a novice with a weapon in a tense situation that they are not prepared for is frightening. I think that if those who rushed out to buy guns either are involved in more accidental shootings or heaven forbid accidental deaths, especially involving children or family members; gun laws will change and they will be tougher.

When I was a kid, people would register with the NRA when they got their first BB or pellet gun, because the emphasis was on responsible use ownership of a gun. As a Boy Scout, the first Rifle Safety Manual I saw was from the NRA! The image of the NRA today is a political action lobby that believes every family should have an assault rifle. Everyone does not NEED an assault rifle, even if you can afford it.

Right now the NRA does not NEED the image of pushing “panic” to sell firearms. The NRA needs to return to the calm, rational, voice of promoting responsible gun ownership and safety.

In my home town in cheshire ct. two scumbags broke into a home one night and kicked the fathers ass then tied him up. they then went into the bed rooms, and raped his wife ,and daugters. when they were done they set them on fire, every night now I watch T.V. with a gun next to me and sleep with it at my bed side. Congress does not have the authority to pass laws that are contrary to the U.S. Constitution. Congress is bound by the Constitution, by oath. Any laws they pass must be with-in the boundaries of the U.S. Constitution. Even if HR-45 is passed, no citizen is bound to obey it, the law is null and void. Common sense questions – Can congress outlaw freedom of speech, can congress outlaw the Constitution, can congress impose Communism, hell no, congress would be acting in the capacity of outlaws if they did. The 2nd amendment, in its entirety, is here to stay. Congress’s actions are nothing more than intimidation and bluff.

All of you are right on this issue. well one up there didn’t make much sense but thats to be expected.
If someone breaks into your home, what good is a weapon stored in a locked room or vault with ammo somewhere else or the bolt of a rifle being stored away from the rifle. What is being done by Congress is to take baby steps on gun control to make it impossible to defend yourself. I guess their thinking is since you can’t use it, why have it? Personally, they will have to take my weapons from my dead hands. HB45 is offensive to any right thinking gun owner.

I am ready to take a stand agianst these so called politians that want to ruin the best country in the world. It is time for we the people of the USA to take a stand and shut the idiots up. I dont live in a concrete jungle I live in the great state of MONTANA where guns are a way of life for me to put food on my table. So lets all take minute and stand on our on soap box and speak out against all of the idiots that want to take away our rights as AMERICAN CITIZENS.

The President ( Obama ) never showed proof that he was born in the United States or on U.S. soil. I want a President or a Commander in Chief that I can support, Obama is destroying this country everyday he is in office, and so is his racist wife.
I think I can be a Great President because I have common sense, I speak fluent English, and Im not a Politician. I believe in Gun ownership, and expelling ALL immigrants in this country illegally. And All companys that moved out of country has 30 days to move back into this country, or their products wont be allowewd here. We as americans should have the right to own , pocess, carry and fire any damn firearm we please. WE ARE AMERICANS, we live in a free country ? I think But we need to defend this country from ALL enemys foreign and domestic…

It will at least slow down when Congress and other high profile individuals do NOT get Secret Service protection. THEN you’ll have at least 535 individuals buying guns and getting permits. It’s a whole different ball game when THEY feel vulnerable.

I am a 40 year veteran law enforcement officer, I taught at the AR Law Enforcement Training Academy for many years. I am also a counselor; my point being I have dealt with all manner of people in my different stations of work. It is not a matter of protecting, “we the people,” that the government is concerned about, rather it is taking more and more of our freedom. It is about limits being placed on our freedom more everyday. They think we are so ignorant we can’t help ourselves. This is what you get when you have a president who doesn’t like this country anyway.

There would not be as much violence on the streets if the courts would be more aggressive in dishing out penalties. If a teen uses a gun in the commission of a crime, he is an adult-period and should be judged as an adult. The parents should also be held accountable. It seems that the centers of violent crime are Democratic strongholds and the only way to get control is to change the law of the land. This whole thing is lawyers keeping lawyers in business. Congress, Obama to whole bunch of them. Their only interest is to fill their wallets from your wallet. These actions are only making the gap between the haves and have nots further and further apart which, if you look at history, which these guys don not, creates civil unrest and eventually insurection. When to good people of America have no guns, only the bad guys will. There is to much tail wagging the dog.

As a retired veteran, I feel the Federal government should provide for the common defense of “protecting” this Nation and its’ citizens, from enemies both foreign and domestic, period. The states are granted the authority to govern themselves as stated under the Constitution. I feel the Feds sometimes (most of the time) are butting into state juridiction and laws, when they should be rebuilding this nation in a postive way. States can and do regulate their own laws, Washington needs to stay out of the way, they’ve proven time and again they can’t lead effectively.

As I read this bill and those like it running through congress like a diarrea of the legislative colon, I am reminded that this country was founded not on a ruling class, but upon the freedoms and rights of it’s people. This is the first mis-step in a winding staircase into the anti-freedom basement of socialism. Our forefathers came to this country to escape from the very oppression that is being heaped upon our shoulders this very day. Our declaration of indipendence was not the first voice to scream out for freedom, but was the first to draw the line in the sand on our shores, and that line was drawn in blood. Blood of our ancestors at Saratoga and Yorktown and all of the battles in between. We now are being faced with the same dilemma, taxation without viable representation. Congress has no idea of what we the people want, need or deserve. They are regulating their actions by their own greed and thirst for the power of oppression and subjugation of a once free and proud people. I say that we are still that proud people and need to tell our congressmen and senators that those that vote in favor of this and other tyrranical legislation will not receive the votes necessary to remain in office upon the next election. They must be reminded who truly holds the power in this democratic republic, it is WE THE PEOPLE!!!

Why are those darn (would preferr another word) law makers so stupid. They continually hammer this gun control crap when they know its just that. Maybe they know someday the American public may get tired of THEM screwing us, and decide to clean house. So they continiously, try to pull our FANGS, with this BS. If they ever get weapons out of the hands of the public, then they would see the only ones that have them WOULD BE THE CRIMINALS, and the police that ARE SUPPOSED to protect us. Lawmakers have strangled the police and the courts with bull**it rules, and then they wonder why so many guilty ones go free. Its a proven fact, that ANY City / Town that allows EVERYONE to carry a gun, has less gun related incidents and crime rates have experienced a DRAMATIC drop. (Do the research, the facts are there). And just for the record, Germany and Japan both researched the possibility (During WW II) of invading the US via Mexico, thru Texas. That was the only possibility, and THEY knew that Texas could and would smoke their AS*, because we had the arms to back it up. You think terresim is bad now, remove our ability to defend ourselves, and see what you have then. WAKE UP AMERICA, say NO TO HR45.

Banning assault style weapons is simply keeping the people from being able to do what the 2nd Ammendment is all about. It is the simply banning the appearance, rather than the function.

The 2nd Ammendment is not about hunting. It is about defending this country from all enemies, foreign and domestic. Today’s AR15 is just like the musket of 1776. We need them, and we need people to know how to use them.

It attempts to make a right a regulated priviledge, and justify it by the horrors that criminals perform. What would have happened if the bus driver had been legally carrying?

There are more solutions than regulating.

Why do we not celebrate the bravery of the young man who cared more for the welfare of another than his own safety, rather than the thug who didn’t know how to use a weapon right?

Do these people not realize they are pushing aside the very paper they were voted in to protect. Decision after decision has been made to prtect our right to keep and bear arms yet with every new administration it is tried to change for the few. My son comitted suicide with a firearm. I worked in Law Enforcement for 11 years and do not want someone I do not know telling what to do with my rights. They were hired they can be fired. The law should not be able to be changed on the wim of a new supreme court justice who has already proved her preconceived feelings of our 2nd amendment. President Obama represented himslf as a man of integrity but has backed way up on that. He can be fired also. I dont know what has happenend to our country but they have bigger issues to deal with than to rewrite a paper we were all taught to respect and believe.

yeah…dumb kid says she feels safer now that wal mart stopped selling guns….please….tomorrow somebody will stab her to death with a knife they bought at home depot…now everybody will have to stop selling anything sharp or if it goes boom, or can hurt….hey wal mart..better stop selling baseball bats now too!!!
