Gunman takes over Eversley in Hampshire

Hi all, some breaking news for Gunman. We have just secured the tenancy for the old Ambush Wargames site (which sadly is now gone) at Eversley in Hampshire. The site is perfect for Filmsim but very run down and needs loads of work. The old safe zone is going to be scrapped and a new one put in near the entrance of the site and a major feature will be put in its old place. The site runs like a valley with rolling hills surrounding the site and high ground in its centre. Features we have found so far on site are a Nissan hut in a small basin, a fire base on a rolling hill side, tyre bunkers and a number of dug out bunkers on the high ground. I’m sure as the foliage dies away more will be discovered but the site at the moment is very over grown and unloved.

The plan is to clear all the crap dumped up there including the old safe zone, all the pallets and tyres and a mass of rubbish. Then build sandbag bunkers, oil drum fuel dumps, ammo dumps and a number of roofed features. This site needs to be re-written from scratch and given a new lease of life as it is a cracker.

The new safe zone will comprise of 2 containers, a number of shelters and a new carpark area.

We’re looking at running its first open day as Gunman before the end of the year.

Location for the new site is at the CEMEX quarry, post code is RG27 0PY.

More to follow.

Quang Tin Province

The Story so far.

On May 10th the 2nd Division of the VPA tried to capture Da Nang but have been thwarted by 1st Marine Division, and a Korean Brigade guarding the city. North Vietnamese General Chu Huy Man has disengaged from the fight and pulled his 2nd Division into the mountains where they have regrouped. Kham Duc, a small district in the north of Quang Tin, is now his target and the VPA 2nd Division is on the move once again.

May 11 1968
Outpost Delta 1- 6 are all that stand in the way of the VPA and the taking of Kham Duc. General Westmoreland has given a stand to order that if the outposts get overrun, he will evacuate Kham Duc and get everyone out. However unknown to the US intelligence the 2nd division have brought AA weapons in range of the major flight paths of the runway at Kham Duc. General Chu Huy Man is not just after Kham Duc but the complete annihilation of the enemy.

Our focuses of this battle takes us to the line between from Delta 2 and 3. In History this battle was a major defeat for the US, but our story is only a snippet of the bigger picture.
Red Mist – ‘Defcon1 - The Launcher’

Its November 1983 and over the past 3 weeks fighting has broken out in earnest in both Poland and East Germany. NATO and the forces for the Warsaw Pact have engaged each other in several theatres and the Kremlin has ordered it mobile Nuclear arsenal based in central Europe to prepare for all out war. US and UK Nuclear Subs have moved into strike range of many communist countries and the world sits on a knife edge.

Deep within East Germany in the forest surrounding Hubertusstock, tirelessly the red Alliance works to prepare a new rocket platform for a new missile. NATO has discovered that the Russians may have found a way to deliver their mighty RDS-220 via ICBM. Up to now this monster known as ‘Big Ivan’ had to be delivered by a custom bomber, but this possible development is too much for NATO to ignore. NATO forces have been dropped around the suspected site at 0800hrs and have moved into position. At 1000hrs their task to discover the truth shall begin. If a launch site is being built, all material must be destroyed along with the recovery of any intelligence as too this new delivery system. Their evacuation will come from Poland in the form of attack and cargo helicopters at 1300hrs the following day. A combined force of US Rangers and a well seasoned British company of ‘Union Rifles’ have only 15 hrs to complete their tasks and get out.
RULES - taken straight from the gma forum
Battlefield Bad Company 2 weekender.

Hi all and welcome to GUNMANS BFBC2 theme weekender. These rules are to help inspire the Bad company computer game but not totally replicate it as the airsoft mechanic is not as flexible as a written computer game. The more effort you put in will just add to the experience. Clothing wise, there is only one restriction which is modern, however there are retro weapons in the game so there will be no restriction to the style of guns used.

This will be a skirmish style game with the count of 10 off a buddy but with limited lives in the field and total lives for the team. There will be a box at all the regens and every player will be given 10 counters per game. When you regen, you put a counter into the box. If you run out of counters you suck and must come and have a cup of team at the safe zone lol. At the end of every game we will count up the counters and see what the casualties were like.

Assault
Can use any rifle/smg/MG
600rnds in the field
Can drop an ammo crate
1Grenade
3 lives in the field
10 regen counters

Medic
Can use any rifle/smg/MG
3000 rnds in the field with MG
600rnds with smg/rifle
Can regen with Defib paddles - this doesn’t count to the players lives in the field.
1 Grenade

Engineer
Can use any rifle/smg
600 rnds in the field
Can set charges/lay traps/mines
Repair tool for damaged vehicles (30 second count for each point of damage)
4 Grenade
2 lives in the field
10 regen counters

Recon.
150rnds in the field
Can call in a Mortar strike once per game
1 Grenade
2 lives in the field
5 regen counters

Both teams will have an HQ which they can always regen from and cannot be fired on. NO SPAWN CAMPING!!!
To capture a CP/regen 3 live men, after a 30 second count can change the flag to that of their team.
You cannot re-load or regen from a CP/regen under fire.

The games.
We will be running 2 styles of games. RUSH and CONQUEST.

RUSH
A rolling series of objectives that need to be seized, armed and destroyed. After each section there will be a re-group for the defenders to move back to the next set of objectives. Each objective will have a stop clock and a pyro, when the counter hits 0 the objectives is destroyed and the pyro can be set off.

CONQUEST
An open battlefield for both sides to conquer. These battles will last for 1hr and the casualties will be added up as well as the time the CPs where held. 2 Stop clocks will be placed at the Cps, one for each team. When an area is taken the stop clock for that team can be started and the enemies stopped. Simples see!

Clothing requirements

Hi guys, after a long haul to get the gates in on the Shortthorn road entrance, we have done it. The new safezone is ready for business and our new monthly weekend kicks off with a Filmsim senario, both days.

Serpentine lane is now a secondry safezone and HQ for battle based games and has its own carpark for around 10 cars. It will NOT be used for open days anymore.

We will be using tents to start with until we free up some revenue, then some structure will go up. Also, the carpark is huge, but will slowly need more hardcore going down which is already being sorted.

Hope to see as many of you there.

D-DAY
OPERATION MARKET GARDEN ‘The Battle for Nijmegen’

March 19-20 2011
Sennybridge, South Wales

£85 pre-booked and paid –
A deposit of £45 must be made to secure your place.

Day-4 20th September 1944
The Battle is in full swing the as has taken a down turn for the Allies. The bridge at Nijmegen has been secure but at great loss with the costly attack being known as ‘Little Omaha’. A combined British and US force has battled to secure the town and clear out all enemy, but there is no respite.

Day-5 21st September 1944
The Germans have re-enforced the defences at Ressen and have started to make counter attacks along Highway 69 ‘Hells Highway’ which is key to the whole operation. With so many Allied units still trying to find ways across the river Rhine and the battle now being fort across such a huge area, the troops at Nijmegen must dig in and be prepared for sustained German counter attack with only limited supplies and resources.

It is Vital that the Town remains in Allied Hands as the Fighting in Arnhem isn’t going well and this may end up being the main crossing point across the Rhine and into German.

As with all our battles, we don’t change History. This battle is one of many happening at the same time, but we are focusing on what may have happened in this part of ‘the Battle for Nijmegen’

Breaking News from Gunman Airssoft about the NAM Ia Drang weekend.

Hi folks, breaking news about the Ia Drang Vietnam weekend on the 24-25 October.

Due to an unfortunate and unforeseen change to the site policy at the Redditch site we had booked, we have had to postpone this event until early next year. We have found a site at Worchester which is large enough for the Battle, has fantastic features and will allow for the choppers to take off and land. Ill have a date confirmed and will update the forum as soon as I sign the paper work.

Instead we have offered a Deployment weekend at our Tuddenham Site in Suffolk for £35 or FREE if you have already booked on and paid for the main event. More details can be found on our public forum http://gunmanairsoft.co.uk/forum/ about the Deployment weekend.

To all the guys that have supported this venture and left their money in the game which so far is all of them, a huge thanks from the Gunman team. You won’t be disappointed.

THIS MAIN EVENT IS NOT CANCELLED only postponed and we are still taking bookings.

Aprils News Letter 2009

GUNMAN April 2009 News Letter

Dear all, welcome to the Aprils GMA newsletter and to all the new players at Gunman Airsoft welcome to our community.

What to look forward to in April.

News

Tuddenham, Suffolk.
Another great month for Tuddenham, mid month was cracking, excellent sportsmanship on both days and the end of the month was busy with loads of new faces and some we thought were lost to real life, great to have you all back.

WW2 ‘The Road to Caen’ was a total success and all those that took part played an amazing level of Airsoft and truly gave themselves to the Filmsim weekender. For me the best one so far!

April 18-19 sees the new GUNMAN HERTS site at Harmer Green, Welwyn have its first game, bookings are already rolling in.

The tyer stacks are being worked in this month and should be all set up by the end of April…there a lot of em!!

Gunman Midlands
It was really good to see so many of you last month, new faces and returning players. We are continuing the build out of the site with new features being added all the time and now the spring is finally here we are undertaking a spring clean of the site. The firing range is now complete and we are well on the way with the safe zone building.

We are now offering an advance booking system with players who book in advance receiving a discount on the days walk on fee, paying just £20.00 for a days walk on instead of £25.00. To book either give us a call on 01676 532384 or drop us a line at info@suspensionofdisbelief.co.uk.
We are still having a few problems with the online booking system but we will let you know as soon as it is up and running.
Our shoot at the end of the month (25th / 26th) is looking very busy, so if you want to come along we advise booking as soon as possible as there is a game limit.

Events
8Man UK Cup competition is only round the corner. However due to the Marketing sponsor for the 8man pulling out of the advertising, the event hasn’t been promoted for the past two months and looks like the teams are going to be to thin for all the sites taking part. Rather than cancel the event the whole tournament will be moved to one date 16-17 May at the Gunman Midlands site as they have already got teams booked and ready to rock!
For those teams still looking to book on, contact the Midlands direct with your payments and booking forms.

GMA's 'Fighting Brambles' will be going along to support the event and act as one of the marshal teams on the weekend. Both Jim and Josh are in agreement that next year we will keep the whole event under the Gunman banner as relying on other sites and marketing Medias has proven to risky!

Roll on 16-17!!

Retail at Tuddenham
The shop is getting bigger with more stock, we now have two barging bins full of goodies as well and a few new rifle to add to our range. Why not pop down and have a look, even if you're not shooting.

Retail at Gunman Midlands
Our retail shop is open Tuesday to Friday as well as on shoot weekends. We stock a wide range of products, including JG, Cyma, Classic Army, Marui, and King Arms as well as second user and custom guns. We also carry a good range of tactical gear and clothing.

Shooting in April at Tuddenham GMA
Sat 11th and Sun 152th Limited ammo Midmonth Filmsim.
Sat 25th and Sun 26th End of the month SKIRMISH

Shooting in April at Gunman Midlands
11th & 12th April 2009 Open Skirmish
25th & 26th April 2009 Open Skirmish
2nd April 2009 Open Skirmish (under 18’s friendly)
9th & 10th April 2009 Open Skirmish

Shooting in April at Gunman Herts
Sat 18th & Sun 19th April 2009 - Filmsim rules

As always, if your not signed up to the GMA forum, then get your ass moving as there are new and interesting posts going up every day.

Cheers all

Josh…out

If you wish to have your email address removed from this mail out just asks!

GMA has a pay pal account:
For Tuddenham, Suffolk its: sales@gunmanairsoft.co.uk
Don't forget to add the 3.4% charge on top.

The Gunman Airsoft Suffolk Team

01223 871207 or 07854 277264
Email enquiries@gunmanairsoft.co.uk

www.gunmanairsoft.co.uk

The Gunman Airsoft Midlands Team.

Gunman Airsoft Midlands @ The Grange
Frogmore Grange, Frog Lane, Balsall Common, Coventry, CV7 7FP
Tel 01676 532384
e-mail info@suspensionofdisbelief.co.uk

www.suspensionofdisbelief.co.uk

Filmsim Limited and Gunman Airsoft proudly presents…

VIETNAM - First Contact pt1 'Battle of la Drang'
The weekend costs
£95 for US forces
£45 for NVA forces

Dates and location to be confirmed but we are looking at October.

Its 1965 and one of the first major military operations by US is about to take place , lead by Lieutenant Colonel Hal Moore and his newly re-established 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry regiment. Only yesterday all his men were celebration there introduction to the war and saying goodbye to loved ones. Now it’s 10.48 on the morning of the 14 November 1965 and Bravo Company has just touched down at LZ X-ray, There task is to establish the LZ and send out recon units to gather intelligence before the main force lands.

"Look around you. In the 7th Cavalry, we got a captain from the Ukraine, another from Puerto Rico. We got Japanese, Chinese, blacks, Hispanics, Cherokee Indians, Jews and Gentiles—all American. Now here in the States, some men in this unit may experience discrimination because of race or creed, but for you and me now, all that is gone. We're moving into the valley of the shadow of death, where you will watch the back of the man next to you, as he will watch yours, and you won't care what color he is or by what name he calls God. They say we're leaving Home. We're going to what home was always supposed to be. Let us understand the situation. We're going into battle against a tough and determined enemy. I can't promise you that I will bring you all home alive, but this I swear, before you and before almighty God: that when we go into battle, I will be the first one to set foot on the field, and I will be the last to step off. And I will leave no one behind. Dead or alive, we will all come home together. So help me God."

Lieutenant Colonel Hal Moore 1965

So what to expect?
All the energy and attention to detail given to the D-Day experience will be applied to our VIETNAM experience, these weekends will feature command and radio packs for units, maps, vehicles, artillery, mortars and air strikes depending on the scenario.
