Eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao will receive a fight purse of not lower than $15 million or P660 million for his fight against five-division champion Shame Mosley.

According to Pacquiao’s lawyer and chief of staff, Atty. Franklin Gacal, the $15 million that Pacquiao will receive for this fight is the same fight purse that he has received in his previous fights.

The lawyer also said that the boxer will go through a very intensive training for 8 weeks.

He added that Pacman will receive around $20 million if they are to include the pay-per-view sales.

In the past five fights of the pound for pound king, he received an amount of about $68 million.

Pacman took home $15 milliion in his fight against Oscar dela Hoya, $13 million in his fight against Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto, $12 million against Joshua Clottey and a guaranteed fight purse of $15 million in his most recent fight against Antonio Margarito.

As I’ve watched the news in abs-cbn last night, manny pacman pacquiao team and wave of fans aired to dallas via private jet. Manny Pacquiao finished his last work out at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Gym with four sparring sessions, the pound for pound king manny pacquiao also mastered the moves and techniques of his opponent Joshua clottey on the upcoming fight which is pacquiao vs clottey on march 13 . He leave the gym with full of confident that he will win this fight against Joshua Clottey.

After the training of pacquiao in wild card gym, he and his wife Jinkee proceed to the airport where the private plane awaited for their arrival. This is the first time Pacquiao chartered 180-seater plane. His main purpose was to bring some of his entourage to dallas. That entourage who were able to travel via plane together with pacquiao was friends, media, fans, supporters, relatives, and trainors and even his dog was also with him.

The entire supporters were so excited with this kind of experience to travel to dallas together with their boxing idol. At the hotel in dallas, a Filipino foods like adobo were already set in dining area for pacman and his wife. Watch Pacquiao vs Clottey Online Joshua Clottey believes he has the tools to end the winning streak of Manny Pacquiao in Dallas on March 13.

The tough Ghanaian lost a controversial decision to Miguel Angel Cotto in his last fight in June, with Pacquiao handing out a 12-round beating to the same opponent later in the year.
Clottey is something of an afterthought for Pacquiao after the much-hyped match with Floyd Mayweather fell through, but the 32-year-old says he is ready to cause a shock.

"I wasn't really thinking about this fight at all," he told boxingtalk.com. "But I know I can fight anybody and I know I can beat any boxer.

"It looked like somebody didn't want to fight. All the guys were talking about Pacquiao v Mayweather and it looks like he didn't want to do it, and it's good for me.
"I feel like it was a blessing from God."

Defense

While Clottey, whose record stands at 35-3 with 20 kos, will have a natural size advantage over Pacquiao, he insists it is not his superior strength that will be the key, but his defence.

"When he beats guys, like in the Cotto fight, he beats guys that don't have a good defence. I have a defence," he said. "I will never say anything bad about the guy because he is the best now.
"When I walk in the ring with Manny Pacquiao and I lost, I will tell everybody I lost the fight. But I keep telling people I didn't lose the Cotto fight because I don't feel that I did. When I walk into the ring, I do what I want to do to win the fight, to do my best."

He also said that while naturally lighter boxers like Pacquiao can throw a higher volume of punches, his more accurate blows will eventually tell.

"You know, I'm not a flyweight. I am not a bantamweight. I am a welterweight and welterweights only throw punches that connect.

"I can throw shots which connect and land and cause damage. Not throw a lot of punches that he is deflecting and blocking. If you look at the last fight, I won the last round.

Damage

"He threw punches and I blocked them and I threw punches and they connected. I will throw punches that cause damage."

While Clottey respects Pacquiao's star quality he knows that beating him would be a life-changing experience.

"He is the man now and he's giving me a chance to fight him and if I beat him, I'm going to be on top of the world," he added. "It will be very important to the people in my country and that is very important in life.

"When I walk into the ring I will know what I need to do to win the fight."

Pacman all set and rarin' to KO Clottey

MANILA, Philippines - Barely six weeks into training and Freddie Roach believes that Manny Pacquiao is ready to fight.

And ready to knock Joshua Clottey out.

“Manny Pacquiao is in great shape. We boxed 11 rounds yesterday with four different sparring partners. With all four of them, he’s looking really good. He’s got the gameplan in place,” Roach told fighthype.com.

Roach said Pacquiao will spar 12 rounds today (Saturday in Los Angeles) and will start tapering off with two weeks left for the fight at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

For this fight, Roach has reduced the number of sparring rounds from close to 150 as in the previous fights to just a little over a hundred. He said they’re not underestimating Clottey but Pacquiao is just as sharp as when he defeated Miguel Cotto last November.

It took Pacquiao just a couple of weeks of training for Roach to feel that both the power and speed were there. And it was just a matter of days for Pacquiao to work on his timing and his strength and conditioning.

“He did such a good job yesterday I almost wanted to give him a day off. But Manny won’t take a day off. We’ll box 12 rounds on Saturday. That will be our peak day then we’ll start tapering off from that point,” said Roach.

The four-time Trainer of the Year recognizes the ability of Clottey but is getting even more confident that Pacquiao will be the first one to knock out the 33-year-old former champion from Ghana.

“I do believe he will be the first person to stop him (Clottey) before the 12th round,” said Roach.

Pacquiao, who fielded questions Friday during a media conference, will head to Dallas on March 8 after a morning session at the Wild Card Gym.

Yet, Clottey remained unfazed. To him, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be up against the greatest fighter of this era, and he’s not going to waste it.

“I have more confidence this time around because I’m taking this fight like if I win, I have bigger things ahead. I have so much respect for Manny, so that gives me more confidence because I respect the guy,” he said.

“I respect the guy because, if he has the chance, he can stop me. So I respect him because of that, and because of that, I’m more confident,” he said.source: phistar.com

DALLAS, Texas - The stars came out for the Lone Star State for the 59th NBA All Star Game last Sunday (Monday morning in Manila). Celtics legend Bill Russell, hip-hop mogul P. Diddy, comedian Chris Tucker, rapper Drake, Knicks die-hard Spike Lee and actress Gabrielle Union dotted the glitzy landscape. During the game, another star quietly entered Cowboys Stadium. He strolled with his entourage and looked for his VIP seat.

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. made a nondescript entry into the scene. Cowboys Stadium was set aside for Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather said, “No thanks." Then, those who wanted to watch Floyd and Pacman in the ring, including many of the 2010 NBA All-Stars, retorted, “No way."

“Oh, I was very, very disappointed that the fight didn’t push through," West All-Star Chauncey Billups, a fan of Pacquiao, admitted. “I love Manny Pacquiao. He’s one of the greats. I love his heart. I love his passion out there and he fights to the end."

Many of the 2010 NBA All-Stars believe Pacquiao knocks out opponents the way LeBron James slams the ball. Successful athletes, after all, recognize skill and resolve the way Simon Cowell identifies talent. They also recognize a missed opportunity for Mayweather to test his greatness against Pacquiao.

Antonio Margarito no longer on Pacquiao-Clottey undercard

The Tijuana Tornado, Antonio Margarito, was supposed to fight Carson Jones in Dallas, Texas on March 13, under the Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey Pay-Per-View but Bob Arum, Margarito’s Promoter, decided not to add Margarito to the card anymore.

Margarito hasn’t fought since losing to Sugar Shane Mosley by TKO on Jan. 24, 2009, a fight which was struck with scandal when Shane Mosley’s trainer Nazim Richardson noticed a plaster-like substance on Margarito’s hand wraps while Margarito’s trainer, Javier Capetillo, was wrapping his hands before the fight.

A few weeks after the fight with Mosley the California State Athletic Commission revoked the licenses of Margarito and his trainer Capetillo for a year for trying to use illegal hand wraps before the Mosley fight. After a year, Margarito and Capetillo would be able to reapply for a license in the United States which Margarito recently for the state of Texas. Margarito’s application is still pending and under review.

The Association of Boxing Commissions, Board of Directors, felt that Antonio Margarito should not be licensed at this time without a public hearing first due to the seriousness of his revocation.

Replacing Antonio Margarito vs. Carson Jones is Humberto Soto vs. David Diaz for the vacant WBC lightweight title.

Bob Arum plans on having the former welterweight champion fight in Mexico sometime in May, a decision that would not sit well with the U.S. regulators because Margarito would be going against a U.S. revocation and fighting in another country during revocation would likely be frowned upon by the regulatory bodies.

I was watching the news last time when I heard that Manny Pacquiao was marked as the fighter of the decade by the Boxing Writers Association of America last Monday. In addition, last year he was also named as the fighter of the year. Other nominees in the fighter of the decade award included Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather, Shane Mosley, Juan Manuel Marquez, Joe Calzaghe, and Marco Antonio Barrera. Pacquaio’s trainer, Freddie Roach also won the association’s Eddie Futch Award.

Pacquiao defeated the Britain's Ricky Hatton last May 2009 and followed by in November with a win over Miguel Cotto to strengthen his reputation as boxing's best pound-for-pound fighter.

Pacquaio is preparing for his upcoming fight again Joshua Clottey on March 13, at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, will he defend hi WBO belt?

This year, we are expecting for the pacquaio vs mayweather fight, but because of the untoward incident like both camps of the said fighter didn’t agree on how to drug testing and finally they canceled the fight between pacquiao vs mayweather. Now, Manny Pacman Pacquaio’s camp and promoter agreed to fight Joshua Clottey on March 13, 2010. This is one of the awaited fight of the year.

I just want that this fight will be settle because it is the best thing that all the boxing fans of pacquaio could be able to watch this coming March 2010.

There are many boxing fans who got disappointed with the cancellation of the fight between pacquaio to mayweather, but still there is a replacement to the fight which can be watch on march 13, 2010, Pacquiao vs Clottey Fight as we all know that Mayweather cannot be able to beat Pacquiao even though he has the power and defense. Manny Pacquiao will be having a new movie! According to showbiz news reports, the World’s 6th richest Athlete will be doing a new movie along side with Pussy Cat Dolls‘ Nicole Scherzinger and WWF’s Batista.

Manny Pacquiao’s upcoming movie will be entitled "Wapakman". Wapakman is a comedy/science fiction (sci-fi) movie (Kung Fu Hustle style movie) about a single dad with five kids who accidentally acquired super powers. Will the boxing champ be the next box-office king? Only time will tell actually.

Apparently, Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussy Cat Dolls will be Manny Pacquiao’s leading lady. Also, producers are currently striking deals with WWF’s Batista, another half-blood Filipino to grace Manny Pacquiao’s Wapakman Movie.source(papyular.com)
