I have a dv6t quad edition laptop. I updated the drivers on top of the hp drivers like i've read on here to do.

So After applying catalyst 12.2 and setting my BIOS to fixed my computer keeps freezing.

Ill be in the middle of a game and it will just freeze and I have to shut the whole thing down by resetting it. Sometimes Ill just be browsing the internet and it will freeze.

Last night i got a message in steam and after I got the notification sound it froze lol

It only has done this since I switched my bois to fixed and running only the amd card even before I update to the newer catalyst.

It now thinks i have a 6700m so I just overclocked it with afterburner to the default 7690 settings.

Now I've updated to the beta build of catalyst I found on here which has updated my driver to 8.96 and its still freaking out.

I haven't had a total freeze now but I assume my graphics card keeps crashing. Ill be playing Deus ex and it will stall and start looping, then the screen will flash and go to desktop then back to my game. After it comes back it will run a little choppy then be fine. If it is still choppy it will crash again.

I just now had it loop like that 6 times in a row before I finally shut the game off.

I'm at a loss as to what to do is there some driver that works better that wont crash this that I know of?

I disabled dx11 in the game and now it does the above loop, before it would crash the game and the game would quit responding.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks

Hey, i currently got myself a AMD FX-4100 and i've tried playing serious sam 3 and Deus Ex. I've noticed i don't get the best out of the game because only one core is running the games, i have checked the Affinity and all cores are selected. This is strange because my step dad has a AMD Phenom II X6 1100T and runs these games totally fine. it just seems to be my FX =/ any ideas why this is doing this, every other game is running smoothly like GTA IV and crysis 2... =/

If I set a game to use vsync or even force vsync and set my Hz to 60 in windows and set it to 60 in games if the option is there It is still giving me 120FPS in games as if the monitor is set to 120Hz.. How come I cant get it down to 60Hz/60FPS?

If your wondering why I want it lower than 120Hz its because I want to have it at 60Hz/60FPS for Battlefield as my card cant not display 120 FPS to Match my monitors 120Hz. If I have vsync off I notice tearing and I just cant handle that.

Now in windows im pretty sure the 60Hz is working but I can notice the difference with mouse movements over a white screen. on 60Hz there is a slight trail behind the mouse and on 120Hz there is no trail.

In game I know its going back up to 120FPS because I have an on screen display that displays my FPS.. it goes to 120 and caps at 120. It should be capping at 60.. What is going on?

Diablo III - Re-Managing Expectations

"Some of you might have seen some headlines or a certain (obviously sarcastic) blue post that implies that we're unsteady about where Diablo III...

"Some of you might have seen some headlines or a certain (obviously sarcastic) blue post that implies that we're unsteady about where Diablo III stands, and that you should temper your expectations when it comes to the next installment in the Diablo series.

Let me be clear: Nothing could be further from the truth.

As those of you in the beta have seen, the game is in good shape. Actually, I should say that the beta version of the game is in good shape. The latest full build we've been testing here in the office is in great shape.

We get a lot of sympathy from the other teams because of the long hours of crunch our design team is putting in, but the secret is that playing through the game as we do final tuning, bug fixes, and optimizations is a real joy. We always know a Blizzard game is almost ready when we have to ask members of the team to stop playing so they can get their work done. That’s definitely been the case around here.

We think you're going to love Diablo III when it's released, and speaking of release plans, you can seriously expect a launch-date announcement from us in the near future. See, I didn’t say “soon,” so I’m not taunting you. ;) You’ll know as soon as I know for sure the exact date.

And by the way, we want you to have high expectations for Diablo III and all Blizzard games. That’s what pushes us to try to make the best gaming experiences we possibly can. If Diablo III wasn’t a worthy next installment in the Diablo series, we wouldn’t release it. That’s the way we do it. That’s the way we’ve always done it.

As I’ve said many times in the recent past, we think Diablo III is coming along great and we can’t wait for you to get your hands on it. We’re doing all we can to ensure you have one hell of a time once you step foot in Sanctuary…

Also, I think Diablo is much more comparable to the Evil Dead series personally, and those just kept getting better. OK, I know a lot of you prefer Evil Dead 2 to Army of Darkness, but come on, Bruce Campbell fights a squad of little Bruce Campbells! Priceless."

So I've used the second 11.2 drivers AMD put out for the 7000 series cards, the 12.2 pre-cert, 12.3 beta and the recently released/leaked "12.x"...

So I've used the second 11.2 drivers AMD put out for the 7000 series cards, the 12.2 pre-cert, 12.3 beta and the recently released/leaked "12.x" drivers and have had the same issue with all of them. I install the drivers (clean, driver sweeper and all) and upon starting up ZeroCore works fine. At the desktop the second 7970 is off, after I idle until Windows shuts the monitor down, the first 7970 shuts off as well. Absolutely flawless.

However, after a reboot... nothing. Both cards idle at 300/150. Nothing shuts off. I thought, maybe it's MSI Afterburner, so I booted into safe mode and purged it from my system via Revo Uninstaller. After starting into Windows, still the same issue, no ZeroCore.

Is this just a buggy/broken thing with the current state of 7xxx drivers or am I screwing something up?
