Bank verification number aka BVN is a biometric identification system that is integrated by Central bank of Nigeria to reduce illegal banking transaction in Nigeria. However, this is a modern security measure that is in line with the CBN Decree which helps reduce fraud in the country.

Recently, I was trying to make an order online, and it was denied, only for me to find out that I was locked out from internet banking and all other related transactions. My bank account was temporary locked out. I was a bit confused only to find out that my BVN was not linked to my bank account.

According to Central bank of Nigeria, customers who haven’t linked their BVN to their bank accounts would be restricted from internet banking access and other related channel. And the restriction have been effective since the 1^st of November, 2015. So, if you’ve registered your BVN with a particular bank, I advise you follow the guide below and link with your other bank accounts (that’s if you got more bank accounts).

How to Quickly Link Your BVN to Any Bank Account in Nigeria

GTBank Account

There are two methods to link BVN to your GTBank Account.

1. Simply use the BVN Linker here and you’re done.

2. Alternatively, you can make use of the nearest ATM close to you. Simply follow the process as described below.

a. Firstly, insert your GTB ATM into the machine and input your 4 digit pin.

b. On the ATM menu screen, select BVN Linking option.

c. After that, input your 11 digit BVN digit.

d. Confirm the details and submit.

That’s it. Your BVN would be linked with your GTBank account. You can now perform any internet transaction you wish with your GTBank account.

Viewing, saving files in, and clearing the clipboard history is very simple if you understand everything under the hood. All you need is to follow this article keenly.

To view and clear clipboard history on your computer, you can undertake 5 main routes.

These include paths through the graphical user interface. Alternatively, you can use the command line. Using the command line may (and mostly) require computer programming skills.

However, all you need (here) is to copy and paste the commands as I shall outline in this article. What is more? Let us get started.

For easier understanding, l shall group the commands into 2 categories, depending on the permanency of clearing the clipboard history.

How to Install Google Apps (Gapps) on Android 8.0/8.1 Oreo ROM

Before proceeding to the below guide, make sure that your android device has an unlocked bootloader (for devices with locked bootloader like HTC, Oneplus etc...), rooted and also have the latest custom recovery (TWRP/CWM) installed on it. You can check our rooting thread here.

Step 1: Enable USB debugging on your android, simply go to settings >> Developers option.

Step 2: After that, download Google Apps from (here) and move the downloaded file to the internal storage of your android device.

Step 3: Now, switch off your device and boot to recovery mode (press and hold Volume Down button + press Power button).

Step 4: After that, go to the recover main menu, then choose install ZIP from SD Card, then select the Google Apps Zip file and install immediately.

Step 5: Once the installation process is completed, simply go back main recovery menu and tap on Reboot system, and your device would be rebooted.

For the past few months, the Chinese OEM, Infinix has been working on great devices and finally, they brace up to unveil an edge device like no other but Samsung. But if you asked me, why edge? As known, the galaxy device is known for that.

The Infinix Zero 4 Edge image was surfaced online, revealing most specs and other component featured on the device. How to Download and Install Android 8.0 Oreo on Nexus or Pixel Devices

As known, the developers preview version of Android 8.0 Oreo is now live and ready for installation on Google Nexus and Pixel devices. Please, as of the time of publishing the article, the codename “Oreo” hasn’t been confirmed as the official naming for the Android O, but we stick to it for now, and this article gets an update once naming is confirmed.

Previously, I published an article revealing most of the functionality unveiled on the Android 0 operating system. However, I also made it clear to you guys that the factory image was made available for Google Nexus and Pixel devices.

Today, I’ll briefly guide you guys on how to install Android 8.0 Oreo on Nexus 5x, Nexus 6p, Nexus player, Pixel C, Pixel XL and the usual Google Pixel devices.

Procedures for Installing Android 8.0 Oreo on Nexus and Pixel

Just as the content is being outlined, we will need to acquire the right tools for flashing and this is how we can go about it.

1. Visit Android studio page to get the right tools

2. Scroll down the page and select the “command line tools” for your platform (windows, MAC or Linux) as seen below

3. Download and extract the accompanying file to desktop

Once you’re done with the above procedure, the next step to take is getting your device ready to flash. So, how do we get it ready? This is simply achieved via enabling the developers settings on your device and USB debugging, followed by unlocking the bootloader of your device. The below procedures explains how you can enable developers settings and usb debugging on your device.

1. Go to your app drawer, click on settings

2. Scroll down to About Phone/tablet and tap on it

3. You’ll see Build number, simply tap on it seven times to enable developers settings

4. Now, go back to main settings menu, and then scroll down, you’ll discover the developers option

5. Tap on developers option and enable USB debugging

6. Also enable OEM unlock from developers option as this helps in unlocking bootloader of device

7. You can finally connect your device to the computer and also tap OK once you’re ask to allow USB debugging while connected to the computer.

Once you’re done with the above procedure, the next step is to unlock the bootloader of your Nexus and Pixel device, in other to get your device set for flashing. Follow the below procedure, to unlock the bootloader of your device.

1. Remember, your device must be plugged to your computer, while you turn it off.

2. Next, hold the power button and the volume down button

3. After that, locate the command line tool folder you downloaded and moved to your desktop menu, open the folder and “open command windows” (for Windows user) or terminal (for mac users) as seen in the image below. Remember, to open command window, simply click on shift + Right click button on blank area.

4. Once the prompt window is open, simply input the below command

./fastboot flashing unlock

5. After that, press the Volume up and Power button to confirm bootloader unlock, after which you’re to insert the below command

./fastboot reboot

Now the bootloader of your device is unlocked successfully, as you’re device is now set to be flashed. Simply follow the below procedure to flash the Android 8.0 Oreo factory image on your Nexus or Pixel device.

1. Firstly, download the Android 8.0 Oreo factory image via here.

2. Once you’ve downloaded the image file, simply extract the files to your command line tools folder that you downloaded from android studio page.

3. Next, boot your device to bootloader mode (simply hold the power button and the volume down button) and connect the device to your computer.

4. After that, open command windows or terminal on the command line tools folder and input the below command to ensure that your device is being seen by your computer.

./adb devices

5. Finally, type the flash-all command, simply run the below commands depending on your platform.

flash-all.bat

(for windows user)

flash-all.sh

(for Mac user)

This should flash the factory image to your Nexus or Pixel device and once you boot your device, it would be running on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. Android O Developer Preview – What You Need to Know?

Finally, Google officially announces the release about the first developer’s preview of the next version operating system codenamed, “Android O”. However, the factory images of Android O is now live for Pixel and Nexus devices, in other words, pixel and nexus users can now run the 8^th version “Android 8.0 O” operating system (developer’s preview) on their devices.

Today, I’m going to be sharing some highlights about the Android O developer’s preview, detailing the new features and adjustment present on the operating system which makes it better than its predecessor (Nougat).

What’s New? – Android O Developer’s Preview

Background Limits: For sometimes now, Android releases has made few impact on long lasting battery, and with the background limit integration, it’s at the best take for devices running on Android O to give limit to what apps can do while on background, so as to increase the efficiency of the battery while apps are running on backgrounds. This limit is imposed automatically to any app running on background; however, this would encourage developers to create apps that have less or no effect on battery life span.

Notification Channels: This new release brings about a great boost in notification arena, which is, enabling developers to define categories for notification content. This enables users to block or change the behaviour of each channel individually and to also have a fine-grained control over all notifications from just an easy interface. At least, we save the stress of getting to manage all app notifications together. However, just as integrated on Nougat operating system, you get a glance on notifications coming in, but this time, it’s been integrated in a more suitable technique, that you even get to use the snooze function too which lets you get rid of some notifications for a period of time.

New Wi-Fi Features: Google is now working towards integrating the Neighbourhood Aware Network (NAN) to devices, as devices to run on Android O would be the first to support the NAN which is known to be a newly added Wi-Fi feature. This feature makes it easy for devices to communicate each other without internet connectivity or any form of internet access point.

Picture-In-Picture support & Autofill API: The Picture-in-Picture mode support as seen in Android TV enables us to watch videos while chatting or doing other stuffs. This would also feature playback for controls. However, the multi display support is said to arrive fully on Android O operating system as seen in android on chrome OS.

The autofill API concentrates on password manager, that is, to autofill login details or information that appears repetitively. This makes placing transactions or setting up new apps very easy. This time, you get to select autofill app as you do in the case of keyboard selection. So, new API has been added on full implementation of autofill services.

Other Release: The Android O has so many other releases such as, webview enhancement, Java 8 Language APIs and runtime optimizations, improved keyboard navigation, Wide-gamut color for apps, adaptive icon features, and better interop for calling apps.

The final release of the Android 0 developer’s preview is said to be proceeded in the third quarter of this year, as they’re three other developer’s preview build to be released as scheduled for mid-to-late May, mid-to-late June and mid-to-late July respectively. For now, the developers preview 1 (DP1) is made available for Google Pixel XL, Pixel C, Pixel, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Nexus Player.

I was like, damn… WTF have my friends gotten me into. How can I continue to get notified for useless updates. I kept questioning myself, and rummaged over the internet to get a solution. I was lucky to find one tho.

I know that most of you have been looking for ways to extract text content from images, maybe, you came across some inspirational or motivational image quotes, and you plan on putting those texts content down. I’m pretty sure that you do that manually, not knowing that you can easily copy text from image and paste.

You get to even copy text from funny image quotes and some lovely memes, you don’t need to do that manually again, just with this simply copy and paste method, and your text content is made visible. Sometimes, maybe it’s a long text content in an image, be it infographics, comics, image documents, memes, or any other image content. Just watch your mouse cursor highlighting those images and that’s it.
