I am back, still living in Ghana with no prospects of a better tomorrow. The Government can’t be bothered and the strongest opposition party has ended up fighting themselves—giving the Government of Dead Goats more time to sketch the next grand electoral robbery.

In such a country, you cannot really own much, except your body—to give and play with it on your terms. That is why I find it deeply worrying when others allow external conceptions and controls to take charge of the only autonomy they hold.

My headline question is as old as the various ontological questions but it seems the answers women give and what actually happen are never the same—at least with the exception of me.

I got into a loud conversation with my three female friends mid this week (Yes, we always discuss men and s*x, do you expect us to kill ourselves with the Dumsor talk?) and the troubling question is my headline for this article. Interestingly and perhaps to score a decency point, all my friends said they would make a man wait for at least 3 months before opening their African pot for him.

Being my friends, I know they were each lying because Serwaa’s recent was the same night she met the guy—in the west, this would be termed a one night stand. And as already noted, Stacy is a ‘Loose Woman’ who can’t control herself when horny—therefore, having a 3 month wait policy is pretty useless.

By this stage, you may be wondering where I belong. If you’ve read enough of my articles, it wouldn’t have taken you long to spot that I am a Libertarian when it comes to s*x—I don’t care about any policies and rules.

I do it when I feel like, so instead of throwing the power into the hands of a man, I reserve the right to also want it even if we just met. And my reason is, as long as it would happen some day, it doesn’t matter if it happens now.

That having been said, I should be attracted in some way to a man for it to happen. Before I even kick it with a man on that level, the deciding factor is always the s*xual chemistry. Once that’s in place: every other thing else can happen—I don’t need that false sense of decency.

Therefore, I am different from all my friends when it comes to the talking, but when we measure the happenings, they are no different from me—except that they hate to admit their rule of imposing a waiting time before s*x is a mere conception, weakly developed so to sound as though they are morally better. It’s a deep seated lie.

Most African women, I presume are like my friends, instead of embracing the realistic s*xual libertarianism culture by holding on the liberty to do it whenever they want or please, they’ve allowed themselves to be caged into a cultural and religious sense of decency, placing false barriers to their own want.

And there is that misconception which entrenches the need for women to having a waiting time: that men will run away the moment they get what they want and if you want to keep them, let them wait longer. That is falsehood at best, because if a man wants to leave, it doesn’t really matter the waiting time—in fact, the long wait would even aid his run way, especially when you have increasing s*xual Libertarians like me out there.

I know men who have walked out of their 30 years marriage and those who jumped out of a week relationship. It does not matter how long you are able to hold a man glued to you—if he would stay, he would and if he would jump the cliff, there’s nothing you can do. So denying your self a human need and punishing his ego and desire under the disguise of safeguarding a relationship has no long run real benefits.

Amusingly, all my three friends I discussed above are currently single—just like me. A clear indication that their developed notion of waiting for months before having s*x with a man does not make any significant different to the “hunting and maintaining the catch.”

I don’t have a waiting time and yet the men hardly stay and they claim to have waiting times, yet the men do not stay. For Tiwaa, because of her no s*x before marriage doctrine, she doesn’t even get her phone number taken as though the men can spot it on her holy but beautiful face.

As a Human Rights Advocate and having studied International Human Rights Law in comparative, I find it interesting and yet shocking that Africa and certain parts of Asia continue to openly subject women to inhumane and degrading treatments, sanctioned by the people’s inelastic conception of culture.

We’ve had several waves of feminist movements in the West which have challenged and abolished thestatus quo that handled women as s*xual objects of different eras, we’ve zoomed past the era of Enlightenment into an era where personal autonomy takes the most important seat in the discourse.

Africa and for this note Ghana, it seems to me, has not heard of the need to uphold Human Rights when it clashes with cultural tenets. The below photo, seems to me, to only entrench the idea that older men can freely take a look and bite of younger women and nothing else.

If this photo has any cultural significance, I bet it would be the weave—because the photo literally looks like a perfect opportunity for the town’s aged to have frequent uncensored entertainment, with young girls being the play cards.

Perhaps, some would argue radical feminism as women having the right to show whatever they want—something Madonna and Rihanna champion, but this is nothing like radical feminism, these women have no choice. They are compelled, somewhat abused, to take part in this and that undermines any conception of human autonomy or libertarianism, a violation of their dignity and womanhood.

What’s civilisation if we can’t leave behind such fiendish practices and what a “benign” population we’ve become if we can’t condemn this.

Court Throws Out Asamoah Gyan’s EVIDENCE OF THREAT From Journalist Osarfo Anthony To Extort Money From Him

An Accra court, presided over by trial judge, Ms Afia Agbanu Kumador, has thrown out evidence tendered in court by complainant and manager of Asamoah Gyan, Samuel Anim Addo, as evidence of threat sent to the latter by entertainment journalist Osarfo Anthony to extort money from the soccer star.

On Thursday 15th October’s hearing of the case, the complainant in the case, Samuel Anim Addo, told the court that Osarfo Anthony and Sarah Kwablah sent him and Asamoah Gyan threatening messages respectively to extort money from Gyan. The court therefore asked him to tender those messages in court as evidence.

On Monday 26th October, the prosecution led by ACP Moses Atibilla, brought the printed messages and asked Samuel Anim if he is indeed tendering those messages as evidence in court and he responded “yes my Lord.”

The printed messages bore no name or number of Osarfo Anthony. The counsel for the accused persons led by celebrity lawyer, Dr. Maurice Ampaw, cross-examined Samuel by asking him to indicate to the court that the messages he is tendering in as evidence, was truly sent to him by Osarfo.

In what became a court room drama, neither the prosecutor nor Samuel Anim, could tell or indicate to the court that the said messages were sent by Osarfo Anthony. The trial judge ruled that those messages cannot be accepted as evidence against Osarfo Anthony.

In his usual teasing tone, lawyer Ampaw told the prosecutor in open court, “I’m highly disappointed and shocked at you – that an experienced prosecutor like you did not do your homework well. You people will run away. Trust me (burst into laughter)!

Background

The facts of the case are that the complainant is a businessman and the manager of the Asamoah Gyan Foundation. Prosecution said Chris Handler is the owner of GHbase website while Sarah is a student resident at Dunkonaah at Kasoa.

According to ACP Atibilla, Anthony was an employee of Chris Handler who also lives in Ghana, and that in the month of June 2015, an alleged sodomy story involving the skipper of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan, broke in the Ghanaian media.

The prosecutor stated that Sarah alleged in a publication that Asamoah Gyan had a s*xual affair and unnatural carnal knowledge of her and she became pregnant.

Alleged Extortion Scheme

ACP Atibilla indicated that Sarah discussed the issue with Micah and the two met with Anthony and Chris to publish the story on their website to scare Asamoah Gyan to give them money.

He said Anthony and Chris published the story on their site Ghbase.com and promised to publish a s*x tape of the affair between Gyan and Sarah in their subsequent edition.

The prosecutor further told the court that a witness in the case read the story on GHbase.com and quickly alerted Samuel to enable them stop the publication, adding that Samuel contacted the publishers on phone and they threatened to make public the s*x tape unless a substantial amount was paid or a house was bought to compensate Sarah.

ACP Atibilla said the complainant, in a bid to protect the image of his client, asked the publishers to hold on with the publication whilst he thought of the issue. He stated that Anthony and Chris kept on threatening to publish the video to defame Asamoah Gyan and called for an urgent payment of the money.

Feigning Of Interest By Complainant

As a result, the prosecutor disclosed, Samuel feigned interest to pay and when the publishers were contacted, they in consultation with Sarah and Micah charged a fee of GH¢30,000.

The senior police officer posited that Samuel bargained with the publishers and they settled on GH¢25,000, which the complainant agreed to pay at a meeting at Landing Restaurant in Accra.

ACP Atibilla noted that Samuel, after the arrangement, reported the case to the police. He said on July 29 Samuel met Chris at the restaurant for payment, where an amount of $1000, GH¢6,000 and a cheque of GH¢15,000 were paid to him.

The police officer stated that Anthony was arrested after receipt of the money by the police and the others were subsequently arrested.

Case Adjourned

ACP Atibilla after having been slammed in the face by the judge’s ruling, pleaded, “My lord, we have to go back and do our homework. We plead for an adjournment. There’s a lot I must hear from the complainant.” The judge therefore adjourned the case to 9th Nov, 2015

She was busted like that homeless dog that kept stealing the last meat from the kitchen. The social media beatings and mockery were stupendous—almost every Ghanaian with internet access had something interesting to say.

Therefore it’s only human, albeit ridiculous that a few weeks later, she has spent almost ‘3 months salary’ to fly into the UK, and secured a cheap Old Trafford ticket just to make it to the stadium as if her entire existence depends on this particular enterprise.

Beyond the public fronting, Nana Aba Anamoah has become desperate and one thing is at stake here; it’s no more about her credibility—rather her injured ego.

This woman has severely humiliated herself and therefore decided to gear all her efforts toward some sort of self restitution by finally making the trip she blatantly lied to us about.

This is interesting, at least to me, that after having been caught as a liar, a photo thief and somewhat a loser: Nana Aba Anamoah gathered courage, dug deep into her bank accounts and has done what she cunningly wanted to be credited for, without doing it.

But that’s a typical Ghanaian approach—mostly we are capable of doing things but we wouldn’t do them. At best, we will employ a phony tactic to gain the associated importance without necessary performing the befitting act. When we are caught in a web of lies or endless complaints from on-lookers, we then jump to redeem ourselves by doing the right thing.

Even our sitting President-John Dramani Mahama takes deep solace in this scheme: cutting policy corners and coating rocks with gold just to score points. The moment the opposition throws the light, a quick shrewd propaganda is put in post—while the right thing soon follows, sometimes backed by wobbly explanations.

For the above reason, strong opposition forces to put the incumbent on its toes remains a quintessential tough ingredient of democracy—same way, ruthless critics, sometimes dedicated mockers are needed to trail the likes of Nana Aba Anamoah when they decide to take all of us for idiots by pulling a fast one over our eyes.

At long last, Nana Aba Anamoah has made it to Old Trafford, but alas she wouldn’t be able to brag much with this achievement as it’s a product of ignominy, an indelible one.

It’s important to her that the Old Trafford visit happened so she made sure we had photos—but at this stage, who cares?

She will always be remembered for the first: as that Manchester United supporter who stole someone’s spot, aided by Photoshop, following which she was suspended by her employer.

Considering the fact that she has totally lost the little credibility she hid in her weave, spending her ‘3 months salary’ to make a point to Ghanaians who have already made their minds is definitely a worthless voyage.

Who’s going to forget “Nana Aba Was There”?

All the same, let’s be proud of ourselves, because we just helped Nana Aba Anamoah turn her life long dream into reality.

Ghanaian woman pleads guilty to $3.6 million theft in US

She pleaded guilty in federal court to charges in connection to the theft of $3.6 million in food stamp benefits after she allegedly created numerous bank accounts and bought benefits from eligible people for less than full value.

A Ghanaian woman based in Worcester, USA, Vida Ofori Causey has pleaded guilty to $3.6 million fraud.

Masslive.com reports that she also pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit SNAP benefits fraud, one count of SNAP fraud and one count of money laundering in U.S. District Court Monday. The U.S. Attorney's Office in Massachusetts said Causey committed the fraud over four years.

Causey, the owner of J&W Aseda Plaza, a convenience store on Main Street in the city, bought Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) funds from people. Authorities said she paid 50 cents for every SNAP dollar. The SNAP program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, was formerly called the food stamp program.

SNAP money allows people to buy food at authorized vendors. Authorities said Causey would instead buy the SNAP dollars at a cheaper price and then have the USDA electronically deposit the money into bank accounts she owned. After paying 50 cents for a SNAP dollar, Causey would receive the full face value in her accounts.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said she defrauded the USDA out of $3,638,900 in SNAP funds.

Twelve girls were killed in a stampede while trying to escape from their school in the north Afghan city of Taloqan while five people were killed in the eastern province of Nangahar, officials said.

A powerful earthquake struck a remote area of northeastern Afghanistan on Monday, shaking the capital Kabul and killing at least 17 people while 12 were killed in neighbouring Pakistan, officials said.

Shockwaves were felt in northern India and in Pakistan's capital, where hundreds of people ran out of buildings as the ground rolled beneath them.

The quake was 213 km (132 miles) deep and centred 254 km (158 miles) northeast of Kabul in a remote area of Afghanistan in the Hindu Kush mountain range.

The U.S. Geological Survey initially measured the quake's intensity at 7.7 then revised it down to 7.5.

Twelve girls were killed in a stampede while trying to escape from their school in the north Afghan city of Taloqan while five people were killed in the eastern province of Nangahar, officials said.

Scores of people were injured.

In northwestern Pakistan, at least 12 people were killed, including one in the city of Peshawar, according to government officials.

Injured people were pouring into Peshawar's Lady Reading Hospital, an official said.

"We received 50 injured and more are being shifted. The injured suffered multiple injuries due to building collapse," said hospital spokesman Syed Jamil Shah.

In the Afghan capital, Kabul, buildings shook violently but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

International aid agencies working in the northern areas of Afghanistan reported that cell phone coverage in

the affected areas remained down in the hour after the initial quake.

India's northernmost region of Kashmir experienced intense and prolonged tremors that caused panic in areas that suffered severe flooding last year. Power supplies and most mobile networks were knocked out, and there was structural damage to roads and buildings.

No casualties were reported in Indian Kashmir, however.

The earthquake struck almost exactly six months after Nepal suffered its worst quake on record, on April 25. Including the toll from a major aftershock in May, 9,000 people lost their lives and 900,000 homes were damaged or destroyed.

The mountainous region is seismically active, with earthquakes the result of the Indian subcontinent driving into and under the Eurasian landmass. Sudden tectonic shifts can cause enormous and destructive releases of energy.

A 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck northern Pakistan just over a decade ago, on Oct. 8, 2005, killing about 75,000 people.
