Informatics, Environment, Energy and Applications (IEEA).

The paper discusses the various facets around developing a framework for energy
saving/energy optimization that captures data from enterprise applications and
various sensors through a presentation layer and integrates it with a
simulation tool to arrive at various energy optimization/energy efficiency
strategies. The publication also proposes a few use cases to support the
proposed methodology.

This is a big challenge. Bontang is remotely located and can reach by two modes. By car from Balikpappan (It is having International Airport) and it takes 6 hours. This route is via Samaranda where lot of Indian companies (Essar, Jindal, Tatas..etc.) are executing projects on coal and Oil fields. Samaranda is somewhat big place (may be about one 0.5 million population with all eateries like pizzahut, KFC, and few Indian restaurants). Other way of reaching Bontang is through PT BADAK chartered flight and it takes 30 minutes. Bontang is on eastern part of Indonesia in Kalimanthan Area.

Campus of PT Badak
This is a big campus, about 6000 acres. Beautiful roads with quarters for all employees. It has excellent Gym, dance floor, bowling sports, fishing areas, boating areas apart from International standards of Golf place. What else, Tennis courts, Volley Ball courts, and Basket ball courts. Entire campus is fenced and heavy security. Motto of the PT Badak is Safety. Also, there is a evening eat street called pujasarai where you get typical Indonesian food. Here people are much disciplined and time sense is very high. Lot of importance to family system.

Stay @ Bontang

I stayed in PC6 114C quarter along with Venkatesh, next to Jaganmohan and Jagannadh. As we are just 16 Indians in Bontang, PT Badak campus, it is very close net and all are much cooperative for others. Excellent team bonding and high light is most of them are experts in cooking. Not sure, it was mandated in Bontang due to non availability of food outside.

Food @ Bontang
No need to worry about this. Oh. Surprised? There are no hotels in Bontang. Only eating joint is KFC in Ramayana. At other small places, you cannot eat as most of the places they serve beef. Then how do you get good food. Just pile on one of these smart and efficient guys like jaganmohan, Jagannadh and venkatesh. That is not all, others also experts in making variety of items. One thing is sure, you cannot dare to eat outside. I heard there is one Pakistani hotel where you get some roties. We could not make it as it was closed during these days. Bontang people food habits are very different as most of the time they eat meat and beef with some sauce and no spicy et all as what I heard. Vegetables are very expensive as they get imported. In fact most of the items are imported. We do not get pulses here. So cooking Indian food depends on various external sources and internal expertise in cooking. But, our guys are made simple by plan and organized.

One interesting thing Bontang food is, Tender coconut. Each tender coconut is so big, one need to take that in batch mode. In fact one person is difficult to complete by one person.

I am fortunate to have Venkatesh, Jaganmohan and Jagannadh as roommates. I got the opportunity to taste Dosas with excellent chutney, very good vegetables and snacks every day. One day I see Jaganmohan and Jagannadh have scope for eatery joint business.

Here in quarters there is no hot water provision. You need to take cold water. I was bit worried first day. Then got habituated.

One more good facility in Bontang is Cloths washer man is available and he is very near to quarters.

Living style @ Bontang

Here day starts with 430 am on Masjid announcement. You will get up how hard you try to avoid the sound system. Then prayer starts at 5 AM. Servant maid knocks the door at 530 AM. That is all. You cannot close your eyes any more. People in Bontang start their work day at 7AM and closes by 4PM. Here most of them use heavy vehicles like CRVs or two wheelers. Baja is known here well as Bajaj exports pulsars to Indonesia. All quarters are single storied with false sealing. No AC in the apartment unless you get it installed. Every house has one mango tree (surprised?) yes. Many mongo trees. You can pluck them without asking as Bontang people do not eat many mangos. Also Sapota tree in front of every house. There is one water tap in the front portion of the house and one small garden with garden lamp provision. In PC6 type quarters, no room is with attached bath. Not sure is it the same for all type of quarters. Population is very less with hardly you see anyone on roads. You can see crowd in the Bontang town on the way to Ramayana.

Parking of the vehicles is much disciplined here. All vehicles are parked in the direction so that vehicle can be taken out directly for driving. Right of way is strictly followed and most of them drive at a speed of 40 KMPH.

Language is big challenge here. Hardly anyone speaks English. So you need to have some sort of dumb charades as part of life for getting things done. Pak Gunandi will help in getting things like getting bike on rent or purchase of something..Etc. Here Pak prefix is used with names as part of giving respect to individual just like “San” in Japanese.

Cricket @ Bontang

Only activity that keeps the tempo up for our young guys is through playing cricket at night time. Oh. Are you thinking that there is cricket ground in Bontang? You are wrong. But, we know that cricket is played where there is a place and light. We have very good players like Dilip, Satish, Badiri, Bhagirath and of course Jagannadh. Kawaskar is new to cricket (as he says) but he feels that he is bowling at international standards. He does of course for few balls. Bagirath and Dilip are very quick in fielding. So, if the ball goes to their side, make sure that you are in safe zone. Jagannadh is a seasoned player in Chennai so, it is easy for him. Vikram is cool and does not get much excited in the field but he makes sure that contribution is important. And there is Sachin(this Sachin is more of a bowler than our national sachin) very calculative both in runs and balls. Others Narayana, Viswa and Venkatesh enjoy the game with some sense of exercise and fun in Bontang. I am just a spectator with try to field and obviously fail to stop the ball most of the times. Kiran is particular about running and try to keep his energies intact for project work. Bontang Security guys must be thinking where are these guys coming and playing an unknown game so many hours.

Market @ Bontang

Is there a market? You wonder. Hardly any shops. Only decent place is Ramayana. Interestingly here most of the names are in Hindu types. Super market here is “Ramayana” it has good T shirts and most of the things are available.
In the recent past so many changes are happening to the world of IT particularly in three areas. last few years, technologists were talking about Service Oriented Architecture to leverage the agility of re usability of services within an organisation. this year suddenly, three areas called Cloud Computing, Mobile Computing and Green Computing have become hot favourites to host of IT companies i.e. those provide services and consume services. Gartenr/Forresters have provided predictions for these technologies. After all, product companies have to survive..right...that is why your CIO should aware what type of technology innovation is to adopted within your organisation based on financial viability, security and Governance parameters. And list goes many current Apple executives and few from Industry. Few days back when apple announced quarterly results with huge profits, we could think how much significance to have dependable CIO.

here we have two things. are we talking proactively about future in terms of probable CIO for Apple or better wait for something to happen before we take a decision. Why do we want to fix something that is still un break?

in our life we have similar scenarios. Do we need to be proactive or wait for something to happen?

Same rule cannot be applied for everything. There are situations where we need to act upon proactively and there are other situations where we need to wait for the time to come upon.

So decide Proactiveness or Just activeness. We have several examples in our life.

Particularly for a CIO job, I believe there are two factors contribute. One is “operational effectiveness” and “Innovation efficiency”.

SOA based Enterprise Integration by Waseem Roshen

I read this book yesterday and it is excellant book to understand various integrations starting from file based integration,
Moving from conventional enterprise architecture services to cloud-based enterprise architecture services

Enterprise services are built on applications that are running within the enterprises to fulfill the business demands. In the recent past, the concept of services in a cloud environment gained significance with services being hosted in a common cloud environment within the enterprise or outside the enterprise. In this article, I described the various steps involved in moving services from an enterprise level to cloud-based environment as part of a cloud implementation.

Traditionally an organization's Enterprise Services Architectures are considered in terms of Business Architecture, Information Systems Architecture (Data and Application Architecture) and Technology Architecture. [1] A variety of enterprise services architectures such as core services, infrastructure services, and technology services are supported by these levels of architecture. Core services are those services that will fulfill the business functionality of the application or of an organization whereas infrastructure services are those services that fulfill support infrastructure such as security. The third type of services, technology services, will satisfy the technical, i.e., nonfunctional services such as scalability and interoperability. Recently Cloud Services started playing a significant role in enterprise services to fulfill the alignment of IT and business. This article provides information on how cloud services can be leveraged as part of enterprise architecture services.

So You Want to Build a Private Cloud

So You Want to Build a Private Cloud?
These debts are dEva RuNa (divine debt), Rishi RuNa (debt to sages), pitr RuNa (parental debt), achArya RuNa (debt to teachers) and bhUta RuNa (societal debt).

It is possible that these debts are a sub set of prArabdha karma; therefore some or all of them may be obligatory for a person to fulfill. These debts are fulfilled by the following karma.

• Nitya karma • Naimittika karma • Nishiddha karma • PrAyaschitta karma • KAmya karma • UpAsana.

The Nitya karma is the obligatory duties required of a person; for example, the sandhyAvandana is expected of brAhmin, kshatriya and vaishya men following initiation. Learning and teaching vEdic chantings (svAdhyAya) may also come under this category - "svAdhyAya pravachanAbhyAm na pramaditayam - don't stray from learning and chanting vEdas"

The most important benefit of Nitya, Naimittika and PrAyaschitta karmas is the cleansing of the mind. The upAsana will help focus the cleansed mind on the object of meditation. It is also our experience that when we are agitated, we cannot focus on any activity.

The value of the NItya karma lies in that it is said to reduce the impact of PrArabdha karma. If the Nitya Karma is not performed, the undesirable fruits will exert with full force. That full effect of prArabdha is called pratyavAya.

Naimittika karma is the required rituals to be performed on special events, like birth of a child, death of a parent, the annual observance of parents' shrAddha etc.

The Nishiddha karma is the prohibited karma which includes homicide, being untruthful, promiscuity and alcohol consumption etc. While the former two are legally and socially prohibited also, the latter two are socially and legally condoned, if not acceptable. However, they are detrimental to spiritual progress and are listed under Nishiddha karma.

PrAyaschitta karma is the rituals performed to reduce the severity of or eliminate the effects of bad or prohibited deeds. PrAya is austerity and chitta is firm resolution; a firm resolution to take up austerity and following thru with it is PrAyaschitta. As an example from our daily life, if one gets a ticket for traffic violation, he or she can decide to go under court supervision (attend a defensive driving class and pay up a small fee), the traffic violation will not be entered into records. This is an example of PrAyaschitta karma.

KAmya karma is the performance of rituals in anticipation ofr specific fruits of action, like to have a progeny - Dasharatha's "putrakAmeshTi yAga" or yajnya performed for rains - varshEshTi etc. Doing SatyanArAyaNa pUja desiring specific results is also of this category. Rituals performed to attain heaven after death is also KAmya karma.

UpAsana is a mind level activity - meditation or japa - focusing on a deity like Sun, Linga (a proxy for Shiva), ShalagrAma (a proxy fro VishNu), SriChakra (a proxy fro shakti). UpAsana is performed to cleanse the mind, to allow for advancement in the quest for Realization. This UpAsana is called SaguNa ( Brahman visualized with a name and form) UpAsana. Advaita posits that Brahman is NirguNa (that is with out name and form). So, how does SaguNa UpAsana supposed to help in the realization of NirguNa Brahman? This is to be understood as a temporary concession to help seekers in the disciplinary activities to cleanse the mind. Cleansing the mind is equivalent to wash out the sense objects and interaction with them from the mind and replacing those thoughts with Brahman. SaguNa Brahman upAsana may therefore be considered as an initial stage of discipline to aid the seeker in help focus his upAsana. Over time, the saguNa upAsana will lead to nirguNa upAsana.

Enterprise Architecture A to Z

""""""""

this is about implementing "Corporate Actions" of Fianancial sector in cloud computing environment.
Happy reading.

------------
Traditionally business process services are built on applications that are running within the enterprise to fulfill business demands. In the recent past, the concept of SaaS Clouds gained significance with services being hosted in a common cloud environment within the enterprise or outside the enterprise. In this article, we propose an innovative implementation of Cloud-based SaaS Enterprise Frameworks in "Corporate Action Events" Processing.

A lot of discussions have appeared on how enterprise architecture services and cloud-based services, namely SaaS, are connected within an organization and how these architectural styles are better leveraged to fulfill business domain demands. [1] Enterprise architecture often describes the blueprint of applications and strategies within an enterprise, whereas enterprise SOA is more about enterprise services and provides integration using service orientation. Cloud-based SaaS has the ability to utilize the services from a common framework either internally using private clouds or externally using public clouds. Technology advancements always provide a good opportunity for the fulfillment of various business demands.

Cloud-based SaaS has gained importance and plays a significant role in the automation of several processes in the financial services, particularly in the capital markets, to meet the demands on a global basis. This is because of the increasing complexity of various standards, formats, guidelines, and rules and regulations of financial services. Challenges will increase in the case of small and mid-size brokers/dealers as automation involves a lot of budgets on IT infrastructure. Even large firms are looking at cost-effective solutions with less maintainability and low risk. Most of the corporate action-events processing are date and data-centric timely processes. The availability of timely information is a critical factor for successful processing, but the industry is struggling to get that information on time, which leads to the failure of processing and missed deadlines. This will cause financial loss to the firm. These factors drive the industry standards body association to standardize the global standards of events, to adapt the emerging technologies to provide better and cost-effective, flexible solutions that will leverage and address the concerns of the industry.

In this article, we explore how significant "Corporate Action" events such distribution of income, raising the capital, or restructuring the capital can be hosted on a SaaS-based environment that will help organize centralized data for the purpose of multi-tenants simultaneously with advanced technology standards. In all these scenarios, effective governance signifies the importance of services availability and adaptability.

Current Industry Trends in Corporate Action Events Standards

Most of the Corporate Action Events are volume-intensive with lots of clustered and distributed data; all of this exposes banking and brokerage agents to high expenses and operational inefficiencies. Hence most of the brokerage and asset management organizations are moving toward standardization, reducing the cost and lowering the risk of corporate action by adapting event processing by global XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) messaging standards as a way of announcing and reporting corporate action events from issuer to intermediary chains to investors. In te U.S. market, DTCC, SWIFT and XBRL US are combined on this XBRL standardization (2, 3, 4). The XBRL XML message format is based on the latest ISO 20022 standards issued in 2010. In the European market SWIFT is a leading provider with ISO standards. The Indian market is nascent in the corporate action automation process. The BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) recently took initiative with SWIFT to disseminate corporate actions information in ISO 15022 format which is globally accepted standard for messaging. [5]

Processing Corporate Action Events via Cloud SaaS

The emerging technology and industry standards re-fuel and drive the rethinking of the Enterprise Architecture Solution Framework for innovative way of doing corporate action processing. As part of that, we believe cloud SaaS can be leveraged to outsource some of the upstream actions of corporate proceedings. Why do we suggest upstream as of now? Because of the confidentiality of the client, transactional data cannot be shared with others and will most likely be a part of enterprises rather than common services. Demands for capabilities and processing of downstream components within the enterprise are different from upstream and this differentiation will provide the guidelines for implementing cloud-based services at the upstream level. Hence, upstream process, announcement capture, communication and others can be processed and hosted on a public/private cloud, because corporate action event information is kind of open information to all which need to be processed. In the next section, we have proposed an enterprise services framework for processing Corporate Action Events using cloud-based SaaS technology.

Enterprise Services Framework Using SaaS

Corporate Actions applications consist of three layer framework consisting of issuers, custodian s and then investors. The issuers' layer is upstream of the framework and consists of a capturing system for all data. This upstream capturing utility framework is an enterprise services-based business processes that will capture the announcement data from issuers and agents and will provide support based on agreed formats and standards upon certification. The next step to capture information is to validate the data based on configured business rules, check duplicate of information, and finally create the event. This golden copy of events can be subscribed by the mainstream corporate action process.

CIO, CTO & Developer Resources

The mainstream corporate action processing solution framework processes the core downstream part of the corporate action life cycle like entitlements calculations, instructions, payments and settlements. The complete corporate action ecosystem is formed with holding, price, reconciliation, assets, and accounts systems. This framework will be hosted in a private cloud / within an organization, and an individual instance will be created on a per-consumer basis.

The investors receives a notification to participate in an election by the various modes of communication opted by investors such as e-mail, fax, mobile, and SWIFT. The emerging mobile computing enables this solution framework to adapt investors' participation in the election through a mobile device, which will accelerate the response from investors.

Providing a SaaS-based solution automates most of the events as part of a corporate actions event such as custodian instructions, account data transfer, creating client-based events, and notifications from the given interfaces. Services can be generalized for several customers or specific to individual customer demands and these can be fulfilled by creating workflows to satisfy the requirements of making events a part of rules engine. This will make sure that controls are incorporated.

User interfaces for services can be designed to include multi level role-based access, dashboards, exception monitoring, audit trails, and, of course, personalization based on user access. At the same time, services can also provide compatibility with various technologies such as SWIFT and XBRL. Otherwise enterprises would need to invest in their own in the absence of a cloud-based framework. This framework also provides different user interfaces as services for capturing and certifying the data at upstream and configuration to individual clients at core processing of the system.

As described Figure 1, the upstream processing component of the applications can be created as software as services, which can then be leveraged for customers who would like to reduce the cost of investment in technology and also enhance standardization.

This year alone, we have more than 10 scams, each of which are big enough to maintain medium to large states on yearly basis. which groups create this corruption mania in india.with the statistics, we can see
- Babus(administrators)
- politicians
- media persons
- corporates
while these are major players, why not the individual hold on until problem gets resolved without bribing.
It is not possible because, Indians have money and they want to get things done on priority basis. why not. so, better take the money and run the business.
We reached Aurangabad on Saturday night by Devagiri Exp. Next day morning, Srinivas and Vadina garu left Aurangabad to reach Delhi, to attend House Warming of krishna. We spent five full days in Aurangabad, HPCL Quarters. Whole day , I was eating something or other. Spending time on system whenever possible and then sleep. One day we all went to newly opened shopping mall and it is having all branded shops. Did not buy anything as we got bored of shopping. Other then this new shopping mall, only other place we visited was Big Bazar. rest of the time, onely sleeping and eating, and of course spending time with father in law whenever possible. we came back on deepavali day i.e. Nov 5th back to Hyderabad. Customer was basically into a different domain than what I know. Customer domain is Networking, messaging, Protocols, and Field Assets of RailRoad offices. I started in Hyderabad on 17th friday Sep 2010 at Hyderabad to Mumbai to Frankfort to Chikago by AirIndia. At Chicago O'Hare airport, it took more than 2 hrs to get a domestic flight to Omaha. Omaha, a 5 lakh population is small cool place. Stayed at Omaha for 3 days. On Tuesday, I took domestic flight to Seattle via Saltlake City. US Airports are booming. I think, US economy is up and running as I see many people are travelling and all flights are full. Got down at Seattle airport sometime at 10pm on 21st tuesday sep 2010 and waited for Double Tree Hotel Shuttle. I stayed at 5363 room number for 3 days. Wednessday was the day of presentation at Renton and it went on well. On Thursday, I am asked to extend my journet by one day to continue further on Arhcitectural issues. As i was not having room booking beyond friday, I asked my colleague to book one room for one more day through priceline.com. I got in Hilton, next to Double Tree near Tacoma seattle Airport. During my stay at Seattle, I did not get much time to do shopping except visiting Walmart and Target.

Aurangabad and SHirdi during July 28/29 2010

We were in Aurangabad and Shirdi and of course Shani Shingnapur during july 28/29 of 2010.

July 31 to August 4 - Tritupati and Vishakapatnam Trips

on July 31, we climbed steps to reach Tirumala from Srivari Mettu and retued down to Thitupati via Alipiri Steps.
