The Interim Volunteer Coordinator is only needed during July, August and September, (with training time in June/July) because AmeriCorps Members fill the position during the rest of the year. The Interim Volunteer Coordinator, with the aid of another Interim Volunteer Coordinator, will supervise and manage the volunteer program. The work generally consists of responding to emails and phone calls from people who are interested in bringing a group of people (from their office, church, etc) to volunteer on our construction sites. The position would require a familiarity with Microsoft Outlook or similar software, familiarity with databases and you'd be trained on how to use our online scheduling software. We're asking a time commitment of 3 hours, twice a week during business hours (M-F, 9-5). Habitat for Humanity East King County is one of over 150 affiliates in all 50 states participating in Lowe’s National Women Build Week, the week leading up to Mother’s day.  Women Build is designed not to exclude men, but to include women, giving them the opportunity of explore, learn and use their construction skills. Volunteers along with Habitat EKC homeowners will pound nails, frame walls, and build community.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We will honor mothers by posting photos, and accepting donations in honor of Mother’s Day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Who: Habitat for Humanity of East King County will partner with The Master Builders Association, The Construction Center of Excellence, and the Puget Sound Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction and Lowe’s as well as Habitat homeowners and community members.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Where: Koinonia Ridge (see driving directions: &lt;a href="http://habitatekc.org/construction/directions.html"&gt;http://habitatekc.org/construction/directions.html&lt;/a&gt;)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When:  The Build will take place on May 10th. The carpets, countertops, light fixtures, and everything else that makes a house a home are all installed! I was just out there yesterday doing final touch up painting until my eyes went fuzzy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you haven’t been to a Home Dedication, I highly recommend it! It’s the time when we all get together and celebrate the long awaited completion of the family’s home. It’s always heartwarming and it really reminds you of what this organization is about and why we’re all here.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The dedication ceremony will start at the Community Center followed by the home blessings at the individual houses, and then a potluck!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Home Dedication Ceremonies for the Bel and Kordit families:&lt;br /&gt;April 5th&lt;br /&gt;2pm-4pm&lt;br /&gt;Koinonia Ridge Community Center&lt;br /&gt;36912 S.E. Advocates are volunteers who are willing to build a rapport with a new Habitat family and help them meet their pre-ownership obligations, such as 500 hours of sweat equity and monthly homeowner training courses.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Habitat advocates are trained on how to support and empower homeowners. They dedicate time on the construction site, answer questions for homeowners and act as liaisons between the affiliate and the family partners. Many lasting friendships have developed between Habitat families and their advocates.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Each new partner family is provided an advocate.
