Spotify's queueing logic is demented. I think it's because people either jump about like skittish kittens, compulsively listening to the first half a minute of each song then finding something new and exciting to stuff into their ears... Or they only listen to entire albums, like me. (I, somewhat anally retentively, create a playlist for each album I like, then listen from the playlist to stop the infuriating auto progression to the next song for that artist's search results... Even if the next song it then plays is chronologically in the wrong order.)

Re the FLAC situation: it's purely bandwidth saving. Having been a signatory to one, the licence agreement labels sign with Spotify doesn't mandate Spotify to use any one lossy format; I think they just chose to go with Vorbis themselves as it's pretty bloody good SQ without using exabytes of diskspace. Oh, and unencumbered with licensing fees! Also given the platform's former P2P nature with chunked encrypted songs sitting on supernode listeners' hard drives, it was a nonstarter to use FLAC.

I still think they'll never use FLAC as there's no business case for it. The HQ streams are, IIRC, 224 or 256 kbps Vorbis...

My last fm page was hacked and I have been locked out of it. I have repeatedly emailed the staff to retrieve my page login and password info to no avail. I am now looking for any way possible to regain control of my page...it is a band page with all of my personal info on it that other people have been controlling for years now.
I am a white hat, not malicious in any way. But I am considering it now.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who is terribly irritated by this queuing "method".
